WoW Demon Hunters to Launch August 9th

sWWC9Lo.jpg

Jonathan LeCraft, Senior Game Designer at Blizzard has recently confirmed that Demon Hunters will be released on live severs on August 9th, albeit in a restricted form (since only 2 of their 7 talent tiers will be available).

Demon Hunters will have two specs, Havoc (melee DPS) and Vengeance (tank). As most players probably already know, Demon Hunters will use Leather and have Agility as their primary stat.

Since Demon Hunters are a hero class, they start at level 98 and they gain new talent choices at levels 99, 100, 102, 104, 106, 108, and 110. Before Legion launches on August 30th, players will only be able to reach level 100, which means Demon Hunters will only have two talent tiers available to them, but Blizzard still believes they will be fairly balanced during this time.

As always, Icy Veins will have class guides available for both specialisations of this new class, which you can expect to see on the site in a couple of days at most.

You can check out the full Legion Developer Q&A in which the release announcement was made here (part 1) and here (part 2).

I still think Demon Hunters should wear mail, that we'd have a perfectly balanced gear distribution, 3 for each type:

• Cloth: Mage, Warlock, Priest

• Leather: Rogue, Druid, Monk

• Mail: Hunter, Shaman, Demon Hunter

• Plate: Warrior, Paladin, Death Knight

Agreed. It would just make things simpler, but I guess from a "lore" perspective it doesn't really make sense.

Can't for the life of me think they'll be balanced with only 2 tiers of talents available, particularly when so much of a spec like Vengeance comes from 102-110 talent choices. Viable, maybe. Balanced? We'll see (said the Zen Master).

Well if I remember Dev commentary correctly they are not going to be balanced at all. The OG plan was to make demon hunters go the way of DK's in Wotlk. Make them super OP at launch to attract players to the new class and then nerf it to oblivions later XD

WOW another Blizzard con job.   Before Legion launches on August 30th, players will only be able to reach level 100

Shame Bliz didn't tell us that when they conned us into paying early, with the promised an early start to playing !!!!!!!!

Really looking forward to level my DH to 100 before Legion. Really curious how many people will actually start maining a DH for Legion. Have the feeling we will see alot of them in the near future..... especially in PvP.

I've seen some videos regarding DH PvP and that looks really awesome, mainly due to the movement capabilities of the DH. When it comes out i'll be leveling mine to 100 asap aswell :D

Not really a con job if you know Blizz, they would never let anyone start early on a new Xpac.

They do let you start the new Xpac with the new class though, as other players (who haven't prepurchased) will have to do the 98-100 levelling at the start of the Xpac, when you are already going 100-110.

I have a horrible feeling we will see what we did with DKs in WOTLK. You will join dungeon groups at 100 and you'll have 3 DH DPS, a DH tank and a healer. It all depends on how OP they are tbh!

Yeah, they would never allow it. I like that they've at least given us this. It seems Legion is trying lots of new stuff.

Let's hope these DDoS attacks don't last until Legion's launch, otherwise it'll be a mess just like the Diablo III launch.

Blizzard recently announced improvements to Azerite Armor acquisition from Mythic+. You can find more details here. Heritage Armor will be added for non-Allied Races; Blood Elves & Dwarves are first on the list. There's no reputation grind behind this. If you're at max level and Exalted with Ironforge/Blood Elves, you can start the quest and complete a scenario to get your Heritage Armor. Reputation Paragon for BfA factions is coming. Champions of Azeroth reputation will be made account-wide. Incursions are a new feature similar to Legion assaults. Darkshore Warfront (Night Elves vs Forsaken theme) The outdoor zone will be updated just like Arathi Highlands with new quests, rares, etc. War Campaign continues with the Alliance leading a direct strike at the Zandalari Fleet. We can expect two new raids in 8.1: Siege of Zuldazar is a nine-boss raid where the foe is the opposing faction. Alliance players will join Jaina and her forces to fight their way up to the pyramid to confront Rastakhan. Horde players will try to defend the pyramid, fighting Jaina in the High Seas as the final boss. Crucible of Storms is a two-boss raid located under Shrine of the Storm that hints at Queen Azshara. It's Battle for Azeroth's "Trial of Valor" raid. Allied Races: Kul Tirans and Zandalari Trolls will become available for gameplay after the Siege of Zuldazar raid. You can find more details about how to unlock them here. Two New Islands: Jorundall (Vrykul-themed Island) & Havenswood (Gilnean-themed Island) Gnomeregan Pet Battle Dungeon Profession Changes New Scenarios Tyrande's Ascension - players will unlok new Night Elf Warrior customization options with dark eyes. Cooking Scenario with Nomi Unknown Tol Dagor Scenario Heritage Armor Scenarios Vol'jin's Story Continues - The Shadow Hunter is looking for answers in 8.1 as he tries to figure out why he appointed Sylvanas for Warchief. You will be able to unlock Legion Allied Races faster in Patch 8.1.
      Class Changes
Multiple Classes are subject to changes in Patch 8.1. These include Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests, and Protection Warriors. So far, Blizzard outlined plans for Elemental Shamans. They haven't decided what to do with Protection Warriors just yet.
