Blizzard unveiled D.Va as the next Hero to join the roster in their Hanamura Showdown trailer.

Hana "D.Va" Song will be a Warrior in the Nexus. Skills and abilities Tba.

You do not have to fight alone! Battle over Hanamura, ancient home of the Shimada clan, with Genji and D.Va while you experience a world of new content in our game-redefining update we’re calling Heroes of the Storm 2.0. It’s a whole new era for Heroes, and we can’t wait to see you in the Nexus!

Well that was unexpected. I guess D.Va was hinted by datamining (I'm sure I've heard of D.Va somewhere before), but still surprising. Anyway, time to open my metric @$%^ton of chests.

Called it for the warrior, was HORRIBLY off on who it would be... Surprised we are getting two Overwatch back to back. Her kit could be REALLY good with absorb and zoning. Also the dive off a boost that I'm sure will collide with heroes and push them out of position can be really interesting as a back-line pressure. Her kit from Overwatch is an easy transition and will be pretty similar in purpose too.

Really curious how they make her non-mech kit, but I love the idea.

Actually I'm dissapointed by D.Va as next hero. I understand Blizzards wanna make more fan-service by adding more sex-symbols of 2k17 but I really wanna more legendary Warcraft heroes - Kel'Thuzad, Garona, Lothar, Grommash Hellscream, Cenarius, Deathwing and finally at least 1 Warcraft map - Arathi, Warsong and many other battlegrounds

Look, I love Warcraft just as much as the next guy and I'd love for them to make more Warcraft heroes, but I think it's time to let some other game shine a bit. They already did a huge promotion for Warcraft with the "Warcraft month" event they had back in February/March, and we've had just about an assembly line of new Warcraft Heroes last year. Let some other games step in. It's called Heroes of the Storm, not World of Brawlcraft.

It'll be interesting to see how she's balanced.   In overwatch she basically has a 2nd life if her mech takes lethal, and a huge movement boost.     I don't see how you can possibly give her both, in addition to a ranged fire neutralizer...she'd be worse than Chen to kill.

Her kit could be AMAZING. High health/armor, a dive mechanic that might displace opponents positioning, steady damage, an absorb mechanic, and a huge zoning/wombo ultimate. Really curious to see how they make the 2 health pools work of her kicked out of the mech. Since that's a huge part of her in overwatch and they stressed keeping Genji true to Overwatch I'd expect it to remain.

Her biggest draw back will likely be her global game. Think Sgt Hammer levels of global problems.

If it was a Warcraft hero people would complain "Oh geez, ANOTHER Warcraft character. They should call this Heroes of Warcraft hur dur". Now we get another Overwatch hero and people complain "Oh geez, ANOTHER Owerwatch hero after they just released Genji hur dur".

There is no way to please everyone. I don't really like Overwatch, but I think it makes total sense they added another one, since this is an Overwatch event featuring a brand new themed Map.

Everyone seems to forget that in the Eternal Conflict event we got four Diablo characters in a row: Johanna, Leoric, The Butcher and Kharazim. So I don't really understand this fuzz about two Overwatch heroes in a row. Not to mention last year's Warcraft extravaganza.

Anyway, I'm really curious to see how D.Va will play out. I wonder if she will somehow function like Tychus' Comandeer Odin before the nerf (where he has two health bars).

Because we totally don't have enough damn Warcraft heroes, even though there's more of them than literally everything else combined.

Don't get why people are so bummy about what franchise the heroes are from. Anytime there's a hero from Warcraft (especially from one person I've noticed) there's an explosion of hate and sarcasm. Same for OW, not really for Diablo and for Starcraft people are like "wut?". I don't see why it's important where the heroes come from; it's not like that impacts play or the game or outcomes or anything. And who cares if it's mostly one franchise? That's obviously the one with the biggest pool to grab stuff from. It's not like the heroes here are original or anything (har de har) (maybe with the exception of Murky I believe). It just goes to show the b*tch-fest people love and how the toxicity of HoTs extends far beyond the actual gameplay.

I know, right? Blizzard themselves said they always take played feedback in consideration, but the process of making Heroes take many months. So people should stop bitching and be happy we are getting free content on a regular basis.

I find her to be fun to play as, not as fun to play against. At least avoiding the mech in HotS will be most likely easier than avoiding it in OW.

Welcome to MOBA games' communities in general. HotS community is still way better than the one of LoL, which goes to show how bad the communities of MOBAs are.

The heroes must be purchased with ingame gold, or, what a lot of people actually do, be purchased with real-life money. So, the updates aren't really free.

It's still free since you're not forced to pay real money for it. With the daily quest system giving easy gold, increased gold gain per match, and the chance of getting the Heroes from loot chests, it's pretty easy to get the Heroes now by simply playing the game. Not

Oh I'd believe that. My experience of LoL was 3 games and a lot of people being absolute maggots to each other (want to keep this polite). But die once and everyone in your team will attack you, being very aggressive towards lane (person mid didn't want jungler to clear wave and then go into jungle), just not the team game it's marketed as. (Incidentally I only stopped playing it due to issues with updating)

HoTs though (compared to Smite) has it's toxicity extending wayy past the game; like reddit and here turn into sour eggs when any hero from Warcraft or OW is released or if people self hype. Since it's a team game, I thought people would like somewhat "yay lets help and be logical" but it's way more limited than it should be. But those peeps are gems when you find them (thankfully a good few on here)

Yeah, this is very sad. The Blizzard fanbase has always been a pain in the ass, with stuff like "WoW is dead" and such. And like with everything in life, it is hard to please everyone; some people will always complain and be negative.

Thankfully, of all MOBAs, HotS has the least toxicity. The game has been marketed from the start that it's very team based, so any scrub that comes from LoL is gonna have a bad time thinking they can carry the match. Although a few Heroes CAN carry the game, it is usually at late stages and requires a lot of setup from the rest of the team (The Butcher comes to mind).

Its not about her being a sex symbol.  I think they are adding her and Genji because Overwatch is represented the least in HoTS and they need to even it out a bit so they can add more related things like maps and quests.

I was actually talking to a friend of mine yesterday about this. He has never played HotS but is a BIG Overwatch fan and even he said as he watched me play a handful of games that the game should bring in more Overwatch characters and one he suggested, without knowing, was D.Va. He also tried for about five games to convince me to buy Genji. lol

Paralyzing Enzymes REWORK: Gambit removed. Now reduces Drag's target's healing received by 40% while Drag is active and for 2 seconds after.
