Blaze, Veteran Firebat Hero Reveal

A new Hero was revealed in Blizzard's latest "Need a Light?" video. Starcraft's Firebat will be joining the Nexus in January!

We’re cranking up the heat in the Nexus with our newest Hero - Blaze, Veteran Firebat. Joining the roster in January 2018, Blaze is a dual-incinerator cannon wielding Warrior who excels at area-of-effect damage and locking down an area of the battlefield. Get ready to fire it up!

Hell yeahhhh! btw .. hate these new ranged warriors... if they are WARRIORS and battle enmies face to face why they're ranged... I just hope his ranges of abilities and basic attacks be Iike other warriors... I can't accept it if it be something far from other warriors like as Zarya who just craped MM for long time (however it's not fixed completely yet since MM puts zarya against tyrande and everybody knows tyrande is better for supporting than a weak shield with high CD)

  • btw OW warriors (zarya,Dva)just made me angry because they don't look like a real tank they don't look like a real support and they don't like a real assassins and make QMs unbalanced  and MM just puts them against REAL tanks,sups,assassins (have NO problem with TL since teams choose what they need) just hope this new SC hero be a real warrior (tank or brusier like most of them) not another fantastic pain in*** ^^/

I'm actually looking forward to this guy. There's something interesting about a front line character that will deny zones, utilize burns, possibly lowering armor (like the mercenary firebats), etc. 

 

Maybe a solid character to pair with Stukov of Malfurion who can back up his area denial with slow/silence areas of their own.

 

I'm curious about the extra skin he'll come with. Maybe a WoW golem type skin?

Finally! The Terran Warrior we've been looking for. Now we can have a full team of Tychus, Raynor, Morales, Hammer and Blaze! Like the other teams on paper they sound like they have some decent synergy too. Blaze can deny some area for people looking to attack a deployed Hammer.

A Golem Type Skin would be pretty neat. I just think all those Terrans look terribly boring... :-)

Exactly. :( Terran Heroes are my least favourite but maybe this guy will be interesting.

They simply look like trash bins with legs and arms and a somewhat oversized weapon :-)

We already had a Terran team if you used Nova instead of Blaze. Although it probably has too many assassins lol.

But then again, we don't know if Blaze is gonna be yet another assassin.

Finally!! Terran warrior :p although we also had some terran skins xD Terran ETC/Rexxar/Muradin

From the leaks i've seen, is going to be a warrior/bruiser with aoe dmg and not so high mobility, for balance issues xd

Looking forward to See his kit. Zone Control sounds interesting. Even tho I was hoping for  him to be a Specialist, but Warrior is also fine

I didn't count Nova since to me she's not really part of that crew, also yeah too many assassins. If you look in the description for the video, it actually does confirm that he is indeed a Warrior, and that he specializes in area denial.

A look on 2017Hots:

Blizzard added 8 assassins,4 sups, 2warriors,1 specialist

Universe: 5 warcraft, 6 overwatch,2 starcraft,2 diablo

so it was great idea to add a warrior from SC and I think next will be an assassin or spec from Diablo

and my only concern was that if firebat get brusier abilities this will mean that we got last main tank warrior about 2 year ago and it was dehaka here's list of warriors since dehaka(didn't count  varian since he can be brusier(fury),burst damage assassin(arms) and tank ..not just tank) :

Dehaka(main tank+brusier talent too)  29 March 2016

Zarya(half-support-brusier)  27 September 2016

D.Va(brusier) 16 May 2017

Garrosh(brusier who throws people) 8 August 2017

well 2017 wasn't year of SC diablo and warriors .. btw we hope to see more from these on 2018..

Neither are Morales or Hammer, because they are soldiers of the Dominion, just like Nova herself

Actually D.Va, Zarya and Sonya are classified as Bruisers in the MM, so if your team lacks a true tank but has one of those, you'll rarely be paired against an enemy team with a true tank; they will either have one those characters or no Warriors at all.

Same for some Supports like Tassadar and Tyrande; if your team lacks a true healer but has one of those, you'll fight a team that either has one of these (and even a Medivh) or no at all.

I'm pretty sure Blaze will be a Bruiser, and possibly functioning similar to the Firebat mercs that reduce armor over time.

that's what I talk about... tyrande really heals however she isn't a true healer but she does good and is better than others,second one is tass who does better than Zarya with better shields which also got lifesteal,then it's Zarya and medivh who are really crap to hold a team with because of CD of zarya's shield and low amount.. and medivh just protects for a sec ,then it's aba who just has to ignore his good talents and picks just healing talents which still can't  heal much..

and about brusiers... I just remember many many times it put me (as butcher or some other similar assassins or spec like xul) against some brusiers like Sonya and our team had no warriors ... so Sonya can pick some heal shield talents but I'm just an assassin.. and worse thing is MM most of times count varian as brusier and puts him against assassins or brusiers however he can be a true tank

Yeah, that is why it is good that they add more Bruisers to decrease the chances of that kind of bullshit to happen. Because it is indeed very frustrating when the opposing team has a Zarya or Sonya and your team has no Warriors.

Regarding Varian, he is always classified as Warrior/Tank and is paired against teams that feature other specialized Warriors. Even though playing as him counts towards both Warrior and Assassin Daily Quest, he is still classified as a Tank in the matchmaking.

I do not mind spending some real money for good skins but I can absolutely understand the pain it brings you. :-)

Yeah, I do to have spent a little money on the game. But I wish they could at least let us buy those skins with shards at a later date you know? Like when they drop the price of heroes and skins a couple of weeks after release. ^^

I like the Firebat "Need a light?" has become an epic quote (one of my favorites) but I REALLY want need Fenix in this game :c And with how frequent StarCraft heroes are...

      General Map Updates Balance Update Known Issues & Bug Fixes General
      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Tumors, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions. Summoned Units no longer take half damage from Structures. XP Globe pickup sound is now also played when killing a minion that instantly yields XP. Updated Homescreen and Startup Music. Return to Top
