New Mythic Keystone Affixes in Battle for Azeroth

The latest Alpha Build added Blight - a new Mythic Keystone affix. Damage and healing done is increased when injured, and reduced when healthy.

Blight is a new interesting Keystone affix added in Battle for Azeroth Alpha Build 26032. Damage and healing done is increased when injured, so it will be up to the healers to find the sweet spot between having party members deal more damage and dead, because healing a player to full health will not be efficient if your party wants to utilize the damage increase.

Affix Description
Blight

Damage and healing done increased when injured, and reduced when healthy.

Relentless is a second affix that might be added in Battle for Azeroth. It has been around for a while, but hasn't been implemented yet. When the affix is active, trash mobs are temporarily immune to Loss of Control effect, meaning they can't be feared, mind controlled, stunned, rooted etc. for a short period of time.

Affix Description
Relentless

Non-boss enemies are granted temporary immunity to Loss of Control effects.

We'll keep you updated about new affixes as they become available.

I am somewhat concerned about the impossibility of blight and grievous, but other than that it seems okay.

Relentless to me just feels very weak. Temporary immunity just feels like a breeze. Maybe with bolstering it could be some sort of an issue, but really not seeing it.

rip resto druid with the blight affix...

Yes, it looks like they are useless in those weeks.

A general thought, unrelated to the quoting text. Is it just me or they are always keen to add some kind of difficulty for healers?

Because Blizzard like healers to be nervous wrecks by the end of any fight

Yeah, it certainly feels that way. And Blight might be even more difficult if you have unavoidable extra heal like Holy Priests. That Mastery does a shit ton of healing so you kind of have to let your group's health drop even more...

And I see it coming: Do not heal me I need more damage. Stop healing we need more damage. Why didn't you heal me and let me die?

I had to 'drop' something in ;-)

Not to mention it'll make certain dps classes more viable with that affix. If you have Frost DK's with their shields because they auto-attack, well, you better go stand in a lot of shit if you want to deal more damage. Mages will not use their shields until their health is low. Have Warlocks lifetap in bossfights without AOE damage until their health is at 1%.

Disc priests will be hilarious with Clarity of WillClarity of Will 10% health? No problem, just spam shields (Which, by the way, would also be boosted because the priest is on low health)

"Oh a person is at 10% health, lets heal him to make sure he's at 40%" *CRIT* oh shit sorry man, there goes 20% DPS.

This affix brings all sorts of complications to the point where it really is better to just think of different affix types.

I share the same concerns about Blight. I think it promotes an unhealthy playstyle and it makes no sense for very high M+, where standing in shit or taking any kind of damage will most likely result in your death.

It would make more sense if they reversed the wording of this affix: you do more damage when you are at full health. This rewards players who are careful and dodge stuff, which is one of the things that M+ is about. Then again, this affix would probably be considered one of the easy ones.

It is a challenging affix for healers but as you said, there are elements that the player cannot control like unexpected crits or healings over time. But I have an idea toward crits, try to swap gear which has no crit. Yet I still see the problem with that overall.

I have a bad feeling about Blight, seriously. And Relentless just seems a little too easy to deal for me.

I like the idea of Blight, really shines for a few specs, while not for others like a lot of affixes. Brewmasters finally get their time to shine.

I actually think it rewards people for being able to dodge stuff. Players who stand in shit will probably get a short duration of bonus dmg, but then they die because they stand in shit. Players who are able to consistenly stay at low hp (by not getting hit), are the ones who will benefit the most.

However there may be a lot of strategies about "in M+X you must get hit by Y spell to get to the appropriate hp%, and in M+XX you must be hit by YY spell to get to the appropriate hp%".

I play healer but not too much resto, wouldn't it be better for resto as you don't hit them to higher health totals instantly?

The "problem" is that the healing does not stop once you applied a hot. Same with the Holy Priest mastery. There is so much "unavoidable" healing there... Never thought I had to use those words in one sentence :-)

Wohoo another affix that makes life hell for healers and barely affects anyone else. Fucking stop this. As someone who loves mythic + and is a healer main this is getting really annoying. I don't like that there are some weeks that are just so unpleasant that i just won't bother while everyone else just gets to play like they always do and then shit on the healer when they screw up the affixes. If they add this to the pile i'll just not do mythic + in BFA.

Same, healers have to deal with reacting to the damage of the other affixes so it feels like a double whammy when they add ones specifically for us

Being an mw monk I see blight more like a buff than an affix. We can let the group at half HP all the time and with one vivify put the group almost full in one global. I guess the same happens to pallies. IMO this affix will be discarded like overflowing.

A new week with new chances for beta keys!
It's a new week and the perfect opportunity to give out a new batch of beta keys for Battle for Azeroth! This week, we're going to be putting multiple contests into certain news posts that discuss something WoW-related. Each post will act as a separate contest that users can enter, with a total of 4 going live on the forums and an additional 1 on Twitter.
We understand that it can be tough to keep track of which contest is where, so this post will act as a homepage for the upcoming contests. You can check back here to see exactly which contests are live, what you have to do to enter and how many keys are being given away.
Please note that you cannot enter any contests on this post directly; you will need to follow the link to the contest and enter there.
Here is the list of this week's contests:
[FORUM] Giveaway 1 - [Closed] All winners for G1 have been contacted by PM. [FORUM] Giveaway 2 - [Closed] All winners for G2 have been contacted by PM. [FORUM] Giveaway 3 [Closed] Winners will be contacted for G3 shortly. [FORUM] Giveaway 4 - [Live] Giveaway ends when poll ends. Vote in poll for chance to win.  Winners chosen at random. [FORUM] Will go live 23/06 While the giveaway-specific rules are listed above, we also have a general set of rules that apply to every giveaway. You can find them listed here.
We wish any entrants the best of luck in each giveaway they enter and hope that we'll see many of you enjoying the beta shortly after! For any questions you might have about this post or the giveaways, you can ask them in this thread and I will do my best to answer them promptly.

So, we have another 25 beta keys to share with our community and we thought we'd go a little historical this time around, focusing on the raiding aspect of WoW. Since we do raid race coverage here at Icy Veins and have plenty of top raiders in our guide writing ranks, it only seems apt for us to try and find out which guild our community thinks was the best of all time.
Personally, I'm clearly biased, as I used to play in Nihilum, who were at the very top for a while there at the start of WoW, but don't worry, all you have to do is actually vote and you'll be eligible for a key, there's no actual "correct" answer and we've also provided an option for those of you who don't know any of these guilds. And if you want to check some stats on the various guilds, just so you can get it right, you can head on over to Method's World Fist Timeline.
So, let's see who comes out on top, and if you don't have a strong opinion on the matter, just go for the last poll answer! You can also check out out main giveaway thread as there will be one more this week or you can just keep an eye out on the frontpage!

The Legion Companion App will serve as the main World of Warcraft mobile application from July 11 and onwards to Battle for Azeroth.
After the retirement of the Remote Auction House, it is time to bid farewell to the WoW Mobile Armory App as well. Players will have a single mobile application, since the Legion Companion App will be converted into a new WoW Companion App, which will contain new features from Battle for Azeroth as well as favourite features from the original application (probably the guild chat).
We just hope this application maintains its light size, unlike the Hearthstone game app!
      Blizzard Entertainment
As of July 11, 2018, we will no longer be supporting the World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app. But this isn’t the end of the road, as we’re continuing to develop and improve our mobile offering for World of Warcraft.
As a part of our commitment to providing WoW players with a living, connected experience on multiple fronts, we are transitioning away from the current World of Warcraft Mobile Armory app and will be converting the Legion Companion App into a new WoW Companion App in the future. As part of that, we’ll be incorporating many of your favorite World of Warcraft Armory app features along with features for Battle for Azeroth into a new shared app for a more streamlined experience. Stay tuned for more information.

Several redditors spotted a new entry in the beta/PTR event calendar, featuring the pre-expansion event. It's already started on the PTR and it's called the War of the Thorns, featuring conflict in Darkshore for control of Teldrassil. Now, we know how that particular "control" ends up, but hopefully the event itself won't be as fire-y!
Also, based on the length of the event, it seems most likely we'll be seeing it come up on live servers on or around July 17th, if we assume it will last until the expansion launch itself, so we have a little over three and a half weeks until we see the pre-expansion event and the pre-patch itself as well! It's a little unclear if the Battle for Lordaeron will be part of the pre-patch or will be available at launch, so the date might actually be a little earlier since it seems logical that the events won't overlap, as one is caused by the other. so another possible date would be July 10th.

Also, check out what you should do before the pre-patch goes live, as there are achievements to be had that will be removed.
