Kul Tiran Customization Options in Battle for Azeroth

While Kul Tirans are not a confirmed Allied Race, they are marked as player and NPC races in the game files. In this preview, we're looking at their customization options as of Alpha Build 26095.

UPDATE: Blizzard added new Kul Tiran Druid Bear forms in Alpha Build 26231.

Adding NPCs to playable races makes customization easier when Blizzard generates mobs for the open world. A great example are the Lightforged Draenei of Argus. They were marked as a playable races first and used to create Argus mobs. Blizzard added them later as a playable Allied Race. Kul Tirans have been added in Battle for Azeroth and they may become a new Allied Race in the future. Mag'har Orcs as an Allied Race are confirmed for the Horde and the faction's also recruiting the Zandalari Trolls to their ranks, so it would make perfect sense for Kul Tirans to join the Alliance at some point.

Would you play a Kul Tiran? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

Customization Options

This is a very early preview of customization options available to Kul Tirans. Expect more options to be added in future builds.

hm... Meaty Humans...

Haha, wouldn't it be funny if they gave Maghar Orcs to Alliance and Kul Tirin Humans to Horde... It would be the best thing they've ever done solely on the fact that it would infuriate so many players. I've always enjoyed when devs troll their players.

Wasn't Garrosh a maghar? Wouldn't have thought they'd be welcome in the Horde after that.

Shame they're not an allied race. They look badass as fuck. The closest of this badassery we have are the Vrykul.

What about the winged Arakkoa (Also known as uncorrupted Arakkoa)?

When I see this I can only feel sad for the regular human models...these even if they are "thick" look so much better than reg. humans

I am so excited for those. I just cant understand all the uproar of people claiming "blizzard loves horde and hates alliance" just because they think the alliance allied races are boring. We get "a different kind" of Draenei, bloodelves and dwarfs. So the Horde gets "a different kind" of tauren, nightelves and trolls. Nothing to exciting to compare the two. But now the horde gets just a recolored orc race (from what i saw [seems pretty boring to me]), but the alliance gets the coolest and most realistic looking (and completely fresh) model of humans. Its so amazing.

Very confident that Kul Tirans will be an allied race for the Alliance since zandalari trolls are confirmed for the horde. I would definitely roll a Kul Tiran Warrior or Paladin but a rogue? damn that gives me RP ideas lol Maghar orcs and Kul-tiran humans to be the next confirmed allied race.

I mean badassery in terms of humanoids with human features. Arakkoa is on a whole other level of badassery. I'd personally love if they became playable, even with their default hunched form.

But no race is more badass than the Tuskarr.

Honestly it could go either way.  The Zandalari Troll counter allied race are the Dark Iron Dwarves.  If they go with Mag'har Orcs and Kul Tiran Humans as the next two the my bet would be Orcs in the Horde and KT Humans in the Alliance, however, It would be pretty cool to have that extra dynamic of having an Orc Alliance race, and Human Horde race.

Except that it would go against everything the lore has been building up over the years. Ultimately Warcraft boils down to "Orcs vs Humans". If you give either faction humans/orcs respectively it would be illogical from the perspective of the Mag'har Orcs (who wanted to invade Azeroth during WoD) and the Kul'Tiras Humans (whose former leader got killed by the Horde in WC3).

So as much as I can appreciate interesting race choices, I don't there should ever be Orcs in the Alliance or Humans in the Horde.

KT humans would make me consider rerolling horde, when they are added to the Horde. Yet I do not believe KT will be a player race, as far too many armors need to be revamped for their body type.

Why would all uncorrupted orcs be booted out of the horde simply because one of them did something bad? Mag'har isn't a clan, it's their physical state. Mag'har is orcish for uncorrupted, referring to the natural orcs who did not drink the demon blood. Garrosh was a warsong orc.

By the way, there is currently plenty of mag'har in the horde coming from a wide variety of clans and backgrounds. The upcoming playable mag'har will be the former iron horde from WoD though.

Oh I don't disagree, I'm just saying it could go either way because Blizzard tends to retcon anything that they feel they want to change regardless of where it's printed.  But I agree KT humans and M Orcs would cause chaos to erupt if they were put opposite the rest of their races.

After all the Green orc skin came from the corruption of the Fel.  This also explains why the Mag'har that we come into contact with on Hellfire Peninsula require us to prove ourselves as allies even if we are playing Orc Characters.

Also if the Horde followed the premise of one's actions determines the whole then Go'el would have been cast out long ago for both the Fel in his blood and the fact that even after being a slave to humans he still sought peace with them in times of extreme hardship, such as fighting Garrosh, the Sha, the Legion etc..

Who would win?

• Mogul: an ancient race of stone beings created by the Titans, and responsible for the creation of the Vale of the Eternal Blossoms.

OR

• Tuskarr: some viking walrus bois.

In all seriousness. Mogul are lazy in the sense that Blizzard used the Draenei rigs and bones for their animations, whereas the Tuskarr feature unique animations for EVERYTHING.

We're back to daily hotfixes, as expected of the immediate post-patch period, with today's batch focusing on PvP, with Alterac Valley GY spawn fixes as well as DK, Priest and Warlock tweaks. In the quests department we're seeing a fan favorite bug go that's generated many a post on reddit, namely there won't be any more clone Anduins, Velens and Genns in the War room. It's a shame, but at least the Alliance doesn't have that clone leader advantage anymore so it was clearly a much needed faction balance change. There was also a fix for repeatable quests, some of which weren't resetting properly, as well as the now standard World Quest fix section.
      December 13 (source)
      Classes
Druid Restoration Ursol's Vortex is learned at level 28 (was 63). Hunter Survival Fixed an issue causing Mongoose Fury to incorrectly apply new stacks before the damage from Mongoose Bite was dealt, instead of after. Items
Heart of Azeroth (Elemental Shaman) Fixed an issue that sometimes caused Echo of the Elementals to summon two Ember Elementals after Fire Elemental expired. Player versus Player
Alterac Valley Fixed a bug that caused players to be unable to spawn at Stonehearth Graveyard after dying. Death Knight Frostwhelp's Indignation (Azerite trait) now correctly damages players in addition to granting mastery. Raise Abomination will now correctly attack neutral creatures if the player is in combat with them. Priest Discipline Fixed a bug that prevented Trinity from providing additional critical strike chance to Smite , Penance , and Shadowfiend . Fixed a bug that caused Trinity to stop applying Atonement to targets after 3 are active. Warlock Affliction Fixed a bug that caused Gateway Mastery to reduce the duration of the Demonic Gateway debuff by more than 15 seconds. Quests
(With server restarts in each region) Fixed a bug that caused repeatable quests, such as Pet Battle dailies or Blingtron, to reset incorrectly. Fixed an issue where Alliance players could not turn in "An End to the Killing " to King Anduin Wrynn in Stormwind if they were also on the quest "On Whispered Winds ". All NPCs related to “The Right Mech for the Job ” should now be visible, even when a Faction Assault is active. Fixed an issue where certain players could see multiple copies of Anduin, Velen, and Genn in the Stormwind War Room. World Quests
Fixed an issue where Horde players could not complete the quest "Cease all Summoning " while the Nazmir Assault is active. Fixed a bug where players were sometimes not granted quest credit during “Desert Crawl”. Fixed a bug that prevented Blight Barrels from behaving properly on “Barreling Through ”. Baron Cloudsnipe will no longer chase players in Pozzik's Experimental Bomber to the ends of the earth on “Romp in the Swamp ”. He's still a crack shot, though. Previous hotfixes.

It's fluffy, foxy and white, with some wings to boot. The latest 25$ store mount is the Vulpine Familiar and they're apparently "fiercely intelligent and insatiably curious", whatever that means for a WoW mount. It has a blue saddle and is vaguely horse-shaped, so it should be on the side of the Alliance, but they don't like the Vulpera much, so it's a conflicted mount to say the least.
      Vulpine Familiar (source)

The fox that won’t trick you

Fiercely intelligent and insatiably curious, this species of fox has travelled the Great Dark Beyond to seek the companionship of the greatest heroes of Azeroth. Vulpine Familiars are born daredevils, and any one of them would make a great companion on your adventures throughout Azeroth and beyond.
      Ride into Battle
      Ready to go!
Vulpine Familiar will be yours immediately after completing your purchase.
      Everyone gets one!
Once it’s activated, Vulpine Familiar will be applied to all present and future characters on a single Battle.net account. It will appear in each character’s pet and mount journal.
      Automatically upgrades
Vulpine Familiar automatically scales to the fastest riding skill known by each character. If they aren’t high enough level to use a flying mount, it will still be usable as a ground mount.
If you're interested, head on over to the store and get yours.

Here comes the big one, as yesterday's hotfixes were just a warmup and today we have the main event. We have the profession high item level requirements change from yesterday reverted, Expulsom tweaks for recipes, returning Scouting Maps, another big wave of Azerite Trait changes this time in PvE, while PvP gets a whole lot of class changes and fixes.
      December 12 (source)
      Classes
Monk Windwalker Good Karma no longer incorrectly increases Touch of Karma 's absorption.
      Dungeons and Raids
Uldir Vectis Fixed a bug causing Vectis to cast an extra Contagion prior to casting Liquefy. Items
Scouting maps that teach flight paths to your alts have returned to the Honorbound and 7th Legion vendors. Island Flotsam will now correctly change to Dented Coin s when a Horde character changes to Alliance. Dented Coins will now correctly change to Island Flotsam when an Alliance character swaps to Horde. Heart of Azeroth Fixed a bug that caused damage effects such as Laser Matrix and Ricocheting Inflatable Pyrosaw to target enemies that were crowd-controlled. Good Karma no longer incorrectly increases Touch of Karma 's absorption. Healing from Glimmer of Light is now correctly modified by Mastery: Lightbringer . Echoing Blades ’ Fan of Knives explosion now always critically hits. Its base damage has been reduced by 75%. Developers’ note: This change allows the trait to scale with the talent Master Assassin in a more reasonable way. The total reduction of the Echo comes out to around 50%, with some variance depending on your Critical Strike chance. Missions
Fixed a bug that caused Treasure Map missions to expire in 8 hours. They now expire in 72 hours. Developers’ note: This won’t affect missions that are currently in a player’s mission list, only newly-created missions. Professions
Reverted yesterday's change to require Profession skill for using high iLvl crafted items. A number of recipes have been adjusted so that the Expulsom required by the recipe matches the amount of Expulsom returned when you scrapped the crafted item. Player versus Player
Fixed a bug that caused players who have earned seasonal Gladiator achievements in Legion: Season 5 and Battle for Azeroth: Season 1 to not earn the Gladiator achievement. Death Knight Unholy Fixed an issue that caused the Zombie summoned by Reanimation (PvP Talent) to have more health than 5. Fixed a bug that caused Necrotic Strike 's initial damage to not be increased by Mastery: Dreadblade . Fixed a bug that could cause Necrotic Strike to apply too large of a healing absorb against non-player targets. Fixed a bug that caused the heal generated by Life and Death (PvP Talent) to be a critical heal. Fixed a bug that caused the heal of Life and Death to be larger than 10% of a heal cast on a target with your Festering Wound . Paladin Holy Cleanse the Weak will no longer incorrectly cause Cleanse to go on cooldown when it removes effects from friendly targets. Retribution Templar's Verdict and Divine Storm no longer deal reduced damage to enemy players. Priest Discipline Resolved an issue that caused Power Word: Shield 's value to be lower than intended when engaged in combat with enemy players. Power Word: Shield absorbs an additional 10% when engaged in combat with enemy players. Developers’ note: Shadow Priests’ Power Word: Shield was unaffected by the above and is unchanged. Shadow Fixed a bug that caused Greater Fade to be removed by Shadowy Apparitions . Rogue Fixed a bug that caused Vanish to end before the normal duration when taking damage and harmful effects. Assassination, Subtlety Fixed a bug that caused Subterfuge to not be applied when attacking during Vanish. World Quests
Captured Zandalari no longer knockback NPCs during “Azerite Mining ”. Fixed an issue where Fozruk can sometimes fail to grant you World Quest credit. Fixed a bug that could remove a player from their manasaber mount on “Ley Race ”. Previous hotfixes.

Redditor Makesmashgreatagain noticed after 8.1 went live that ilvl 385 crafted items no longer work if you abandoned the profession used to craft them.
Update: This was an unintended bug that was recently reverted.
Placeholder for tweet 1072993206856380416 Emblazoned Deep Sea Breeches now require Zandalari Tailoring (110) as depicted in the screenshot below. The player switched to Alchemy/Enchanting and after Tides of Vengeance, the crafted item was red and gave no stats. The change was omitted from the official patch notes. We don't know at this time if it's just a bug or intended.

Blizzard recently announced improvements to Azerite Armor acquisition from Mythic+. You can find more details here. Heritage Armor will be added for non-Allied Races; Blood Elves & Dwarves are first on the list. There's no reputation grind behind this. If you're at max level and Exalted with Ironforge/Blood Elves, you can start the quest and complete a scenario to get your Heritage Armor. Reputation Paragon for BfA factions is coming. Champions of Azeroth reputation will be made account-wide. Incursions are a new feature similar to Legion assaults. Darkshore Warfront (Night Elves vs Forsaken theme) The outdoor zone will be updated just like Arathi Highlands with new quests, rares, etc. War Campaign continues with the Alliance leading a direct strike at the Zandalari Fleet. We can expect two new raids in 8.1: Siege of Zuldazar is a nine-boss raid where the foe is the opposing faction. Alliance players will join Jaina and her forces to fight their way up to the pyramid to confront Rastakhan. Horde players will try to defend the pyramid, fighting Jaina in the High Seas as the final boss. Crucible of Storms is a two-boss raid located under Shrine of the Storm that hints at Queen Azshara. It's Battle for Azeroth's "Trial of Valor" raid. Allied Races: Kul Tirans and Zandalari Trolls will become available for gameplay after the Siege of Zuldazar raid. You can find more details about how to unlock them here. Two New Islands: Jorundall (Vrykul-themed Island) & Havenswood (Gilnean-themed Island) Gnomeregan Pet Battle Dungeon Profession Changes New Scenarios Tyrande's Ascension - players will unlok new Night Elf Warrior customization options with dark eyes. Cooking Scenario with Nomi Unknown Tol Dagor Scenario Heritage Armor Scenarios Vol'jin's Story Continues - The Shadow Hunter is looking for answers in 8.1 as he tries to figure out why he appointed Sylvanas for Warchief. Allied Races
You will be able to unlock Legion Allied Races faster in Patch 8.1.
      Class Changes
Multiple Classes are subject to changes in Patch 8.1. These include Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests, and Protection Warriors. So far, Blizzard outlined plans for Elemental Shamans. They haven't decided what to do with Protection Warriors just yet.
