We've learned a lot about the new Reaping Seasonal affix that's coming in Season 2 of Mythic+ in this interview! Here are the highlights:

  • The Battle of Dazar’alor is a 9-boss raid with Different starting locations for the two factions. The boss order is almost the same for both factions. Only one boss is different: King Grogs is 2nd for the Horde, 3rd for Alliance [he gets raised by Bwonsamdi]. Then, you play as the different faction.
  • Perhaps you can see glimpses of the other faction during the raid, the Alliance version of your raid running down the pyramid.
  • Naz'jatar will be really large, with a lot of quests and different types of end-game content, including at least 5 different environment types.
  • The Mechagon megadungeon will be split in two for M+ just like Karazhan.
  • Reaping Season 2 M+ affix: Every 20% on the enemy forces’ bar [5 times in total throughout the instance], Bwonsamdi will resurrect spirits from all the creatures you have killed and they will all rush you.
  • You get some seconds to prepare, Bwonsamdi will appear and say “rise”; animation-wise, a Blood Moon will rise and the dungeon will get darker. The spirits take time to run to you from the different places of the dungeon you killed them. There will be a different effect as well for when you lose the timer!
  • You can plan around this affix, it will definitely change the way you approach dungeons.
  • There might be dungeon and affix tuning coming in Tides of Vengeance. For instance, Necrotic will be physical and not magical.
  • In Tides of Vengeance, they are taking a look at mobility abilities and removing them off the GCD.
  • As far as the rewards in the new raid are concerned, there is a 5th ring in Azerite gear with class-specific traits, a new Raid trait in Battle of Dazar’alor, as well as items with effects unique to the raid.

The effect when you lose the timer should buff your group rather than make things even more difficult, as by then you already lost a guaranteed piece of loot and the key upgrade and thus the rest of the dungeon becomes just a boring slog through the rest of it just to avoid losing even more time than you already spent to get to the dungeon time limit.

You have got to be kidding me. Obviously we should expect to be treated like the curling kids we act like, and expect a reward in the sense of a buff when we fail something in WoW.... get out.

M+ is hard. You don't get a cookie for attempting it. Handle it.
