How the Secret Hivemind Mount Works

Recommended Posts

Celestalon clarified in a series of tweets how the secret The Hivemind The Hivemind mount works.

The multi-person capability is a special perk for the Hivemind group (the 5 people you last completed it with) and the final ritual is what establishes the link. Each player in a said group increases the mount's speed by 10% (Joined Hivemind Joined Hivemind). If you completed the final puzzle with a random group, you will need to complete it again with a different group for the speed bonus.

Check out the guide over at Warcraft Secrets if you still haven't obtained the mount.

SUCH BULLCRAP!  we have 2 seater mounts with no restrictions, we have 3 seater mounts with no restrictions, what the hell is 2 more players gonna hurt to make it 5! I mean sure sure you have to have found the mount in order to join into another one, but this restriction of  "(the 5 people you last completed it with)"  is just silly!

I mean....this is a bit awkward, isn't it? As i understand, you can transport only other members who finished the ritual last with you. So it means this mount is worth less than any other transport mount because only this 4 people can join your mount?

Why not just letting 5 people join and increase travel speed for each person? Why does it matter if you finished the ritual? How is that a good design? I mean i fully agree, it has to be limitted...well it would be quite funny a whole raid pops out of the mount ? . But really, just the 5 people who last finished the ritual with you?

This feels like it was designed to be a mythic+ mount, for dedicated groups of people who run together on a consistent basis, trying to push keys.

Am I mistaken in that you can mount with 5 people with no limitation, but the extra 10% per person is only granted when it is those who completed the ritual with you?

It looks that way, I had the same thought but the tooltip reads: "joins with the target, a member of your hivemind" and "other members of your hivemind may join you".

This suggests it's a single seater for anyone else

Last night doing exped's and random things with a few guildies who have not yet gotten this mount were able to mount mine and my gf's hivemind. So I assume that's a bug for them to be able to mount?

Can't we find this mount alone? or do we need a group?

You physically need 5 people in your group for the final stages (suramar and beyond).  Cannot complete it otherwise.

LFG groups abounded last night when I looked, took five minutes to complete a group formup.

SUGGESTIONS:

Red's the costly monocle, couple K gold easy (recommend Vashjir Seahorse!).  Yellow s the biggest PITA with the puzzle in Uldum, Green is easy mode in skyreach, and blue is just lots of hearthstone travelling.

Do as many of the monocles as you are absolutely comfortable with.  the group of 5 needs all 4 monocles total, meaning at least one person needs each color, and a fifth to find the doorway item.

make sure your combat log is on and tracking damage to you only, you need the amount youre hit for, and sifting through it is a pita if its not set up that way.

WOWHEAD guide is highly accurate currently, learn it well!!!

Discord or other voice is super helpful but we did it without just fine.

BE PATIENT.  some steps are confusing AF until you get them figured out in practice.

Just acquired this mount last Saturday with a few Guild Mates of mine.  Had to do the Yellow Monocle.....took me over 2.5 hrs switching all colors to one.  And now I have a worthless 5 seat mount that I and I alone will only use.

LeystTv is back with some more evolution tracking, this time focusing on everyone's favorite Demon Hunter and everyone's second favorite Orc! Well, probably not everyone's but still. We're taking a look at how Illidan and Saurfang's models evolved over the years and, as you can imagine, Mr. Stormrage has a few more to show off.

Number 7 is particularly interesting, as it was never used and added in Shadowlands. It seems likely it was related to a flashback, possibly connected to Malfurion's quests in the expansion, but we can't be sure. Hopefully everything is still going alright in the Seat of the Pantheon...
And then there's ex-Warlord Saurfang, the formerly greatest tier 1 Might shoulder spokesmodel ever:

There was also a joke in the twitter thread about the final Saurfang model missing, the Old Warrior's Soul.
It's always great to do these little trips down memory lane, while also finding some new models that may not have been so prevalent/noticeable, so thanks to LeystTv for this series!

Players have been gathering in masses to farm out all the (many) drops the Diablo crossover event goblins are dropping, and it seems there's one drop Blizzard didn't specifically mention in their event overview.
As spotted by DesMephisto and many others, it seems the treasure part of their name doesn't only refer to all the items and cosmetics they drop, but also gold! 500-1000 or so, in fact (update: it seems the numbers can go a LOT higher than that, with some reporting getting as much as 10,000 gold!)
The goblins spawn every 30 minutes, alternating between Orgrimmar and Stormwind on the full hour and every 30 minutes in Dragonflight zones. You can grab a Weakaura here to have a timer on when the next spawn is and where here, or check out a spreadsheet of all the upcoming times here.
Not exactly astronomical numbers, but considering how quickly they die, it might be worth the hassle. Players have been gathering in large numbers, trying to get everything from the mount, pet, bag and all the cosmetics (although the charms have lost some of their appeal since Blizzard disabled them in instanced content).
And while the low, low framerates when that many people gather up are problematic, others have found a different sort of fun, as faction warfare sometimes ensues!
Despite some players getting quickly bored with the event, it's still quite a lot of free loot to get, so it's not all bad. What do you think of it all? Too simple and boring or "thanks for the free stuff"?
If you're looking for their spawn times and locations, you can check out a Weakaura for that here.

Xirev has created a spreadsheet for the Diablo cross-over event with spawn times of all Treasure Goblins, covering both NA and EU regions. Check it out!
Treasure Goblins during the "A Greedy Emissary" event are on a fixed rotation and avid achievement collector Xirev has created a handy spreadsheet with the exact spawn times.
