With no signs of Lunar Festival heading to the Nexus for now, last year's Rocket Racing Brawl is returning for a week.

There are many ways to celebrate the Lunar Festival. Food, gifts, ceremonies… and strapping saddles onto dangerously fast fireworks!

Rules:

  • Rocket Riding
    • Heroes will automatically move toward their mouse cursor’s location. You just need to steer!
    • Speed boost pads can be found around the track. Steer over these to make a break for first!
  • Envelope Pickups
    • Blast through the Red Envelopes placed around the track to gain one of three abilities:

ROCKET

A bouncing rocket that will explode on the first enemy it contacts.

BOMB

Drop a bomb behind you that will stun players upon impact.

LUNAR BLESSING

Gain Invulnerability and a burst of speed.

  • Cross the Finish Line
    • Upon the first person completing the race, a 30 second timer starts.
      • The remaining players must cross the finish line within this time to win.
      • If you don't cross the finish line - or you are in last place when all players cross - you lose.

Rewards:

  • Complete three matches of Lunar Rocket Racing to earn a Loot Chest!

With toy event extended and previous year's event being turned into other themed events, it's likely Lunar Year might have been turned into something else. We might get skins sharing a certain theme, with older lunar stuff returning alongside them.

Most likely. They've made a spin on all seasonal events, such as "Nexomania" replacing the "Sun's Out, Guns Out" and the Hallow's End replaced by the Dark Nexus.

I wouldn't expect the Lunar Festival anymore.

I really appreciate the fact that they tried to do something very much different with this brawl, but I wouldn't be honest if I didn't admit it gets boring rapidly. It could work a little better if they designed like 5 characters to choose from, each with a unique skill on top of the items you collect. Imagine ETC Facemelt, Artanis swap,,Jainas frostbolt, Alarak 's telekinesis, stitches hook and bile, Illidans gap closer, etc. That could be more fun

Players won't be getting any rewards besides the 3,750 Gold and the Portrait this Season which ends in less then a week.
      Blizzard (Source)
Hey team what’s up with the lack of rewards? Did you not intend to include a mount or a similar reward in the first place or can we still keep our hopes up because someone simply forgot to press a button?
I understand if the development team wants the gameplay experience to be its own reward, no one cares about portraits and some bonus gold in the end is a nice addition, but then why dangle a carrot infront of us if it can’t be communicated properly?
      Hey GriM,
The Season rewards for this year were the Portrait and the Gold only. There are no other missing rewards. As this is not a bug, this would be great feedback to discuss on the General Discussion forum!
