Patch 8.1 Hotfixes: February 26th

Recommended Posts

42256-patch-81-hotfixes-february-20th.jp

Today's hotfixes bring nerfs for Normal Stormwall Blockade, visual changes for Jaina's abilities on all difficulties as well as the already announced G.M.O.D. mount dropping off of Jaina on LFR. In non-raid changes we have the Resto Druid and Bonded Souls PvP changes that were also announced already, as well as a fix for Ret Palas Hammer of Reckoning.

Blizzard LogoFebruary 26 (source)

Dungeons and Raids

  • Battle of Dazar’alor
    • Stormwall Blockade
      • Soul of the Tidepriest/Tidepriestess now waits 15 seconds before casting their empowerment spells on Normal difficulty (was 5 seconds).
      • Sea Storm's cast time has been increased to 4 seconds on Normal difficulty (was 2.5 seconds).
      • Sea Storm initial AOE damage reduced by 20% on Normal difficulty.
    • Lady Jaina Proudmoore
      • Glacial Shards border visibility increased, and move speed decreased by roughly 20%.
      • Howling Winds visual intensity lowered by 10%.
      • The G.M.O.D. mount now has a chance to drop on completion of the final wing on Raid Finder difficulty.

Items

  • Heart of Azeroth
    • Fixed an issue causing Endless Hunger Endless Hunger to repeatedly consume the essence of certain corpses.

Player versus Player

  • Heart of Azeroth
    • Bonded Souls Bonded Souls healing reduced by 85% when engaged in combat with enemy players (was 50%).
    • Developers’ notes: We’ve identified that Bonded Souls has been providing too much healing in an arena environment when multiple members of a team equip the trait.
  • Druid
    • Restoration
      • Focused Growth Focused Growth now reduces the mana cost of Lifebloom Lifebloom by 8% (was 20%).
      • Focused Growth Focused Growth now increases the healing of Lifebloom Lifebloom by 8% per stack (was 20%).
      • Developers’ notes: As we’ve monitored PvP matches since our PvP mana changes to healers and Restoration Druids, we’ve found that Lifebloom, as a source of healing, has become too-efficient. While the reduction to Focused Growth’s increased healing and mana cost savings is a sizeable change, Restoration Druids have a wide variety of well-performing PvP talent options to fit in its place.

Previous hotfixes.

What? Normal and Heroic uses a flex system. If your guild is killing Mythic Jaina then you're in like 0.01% and devoting development resources to making it more interesting for that group would be silly.

Flex only goes down to ten, and we're getting close to that now. it was just a joke, but still a bit sad.

Gnomes and Tauren will be able to embark on a new quest which rewards Heritage Armor sets for both races in Rise of Azshara.
      Requirements
So long as you have a max level character (Gnome & Tauren) and are Exalted with the appropriate faction, you will be able to start the quest for the new armor when Patch 8.2 goes live.
Do keep in mind that Tauren will also need to complete the Stay of Execution scenario before the quest becomes available. Blizzard mentioned that it will be available shortly after Patch 8.2 goes live, so maybe they're planning to timegate the War Campaign somehow.
      Gnome Heritage Armor
One Level 120 Gnome Character Exalted with Gnomeregan Tauren Heritage Armor
One Level 120 Tauren Character Exalted with Thunder Bluff Stay of Execution Scenario Completed Blizzard (Source)
Rise up and stand tall with two new Heritage Armor sets—one for gnomes and one for tauren—coming in the Rise of Azshara content update.
Players with maximum-level (120) gnomes or tauren* who are Exalted with their faction (Gnomeregan or Thunder Bluff respectively) will be able to embark on a new quest line for each race to learn more about their history. Once you complete your quest, you’ll gain a new Heritage Armor transmogrification set unique to your race and be able to show off your pride.
*Tauren will also first need to complete the War Campaign quest Stay of Execution, which will be available shortly after the launch of Rise of Azshara.
Rise up to any challenge and show off the cog-nitive prowess of gnomish technology as you get ready to bolt into action in Mechagon and beyond.
Stand proud as you reconnect with your ancestors through a spirit journey to honor your tauren heritage.
Begin your journey by visiting the embassy in Orgrimmar or Stormwind after Rise of Azshara arrives.
