Rextroy One-Shots His Way to 2,5K MMR in Arena with 27x Infinite Stars

Recommended Posts

hOH0AKI.jpg

It's been a while since we last heard of Rextroy, and that's because he had to farm 90,000 Echoes of Ny'alotha to obtain enough Infinite StarsInfinite Stars to gather 675 Corruption (before Resistance) and one-shot enemies in Arenas.

In the latest video, Rextroy explains how powerful 27 Infinite StarsInfinite Stars can be in Arenas and why Protection Paladin is a really good choice for this method since the class has so many immunities, as the 495% damage taken increase makes you extremely squishy.

This Infinite Stars procs may not one-shot players with some sort of defensives up, but it should still deal damage equal to 80-90% of their health. Pets add an additional layer of RNG because Infinite Stars procs at random targets.

A few words from the man himself:

Quote

Background:

The way to grind all the echoes needed is definitely 3v3 without a healer. A good rate is about 1k echoes an hour.

You might want to check the Auction House aswell for BOEs with Infinite Stars.

The reason Protection is so solid with this is because we have a lot of immunities, which makes us able to survive the 495% damage taken increase from Corruption. We have Divine Shield Divine Shield , aswell as 2x Guardian of the Forgotten Queen Guardian of the Forgotten Queen when we use the essence Touch of the Everlasting Touch of the Everlasting . Sometimes we are also able to live long enough to use Blessing of Spellwarding Blessing of Spellwarding .

We want to stack Haste and Versatility. During Seraphim Seraphim and trinket I have about 48% Versatility and 42% haste. On average 80% of my Arenas lead to a proc of Infinite Stars. With that said, if the enemy got somekind of defensive up and the stars doesn't crit, it might not one shot them (only do 80-90% of their HP).

Pets are also an issue, since the Infinite stars hit random targets. This makes each pet add an additional layer of RNG.

I would suggest you queue with teammates that are good at 1v1, since you are really squishy and can't heal yourself. (A healer can easily 2 shot you).

Also, a red transmog can help to conceal the amount of Corruption you have, since some people doesn't check your debuffs at the start of the Arena and might not target you.

Rextroy

Now, here's Rextroy with 675 Corruption, 495% increased damage taken and 27x Infinite Stars in action!

Not quite sure why people just didnt cc the prot pet when Guardian of the Forgotten Queen was active. IF you do that you cancell out the dmg reduction that pet provides.

I'm sure there are times that happened that weren't included in the video, but it should be observed that this was done in Alterac Valley, plenty of people that won't think/know to do that.

I agree with the first part, but where in the video do you see Alterac Valley?

There are a whole lot of DPS specs to cover, so we've separated our guide writers opinions on their performance in the Shadowlands from our usual pre-patch DPS rankings, as there was just too much to cover in one place. Each of our writers will go over the general situation for their respective spec or specs in the Shadowlands, to give you a better idea of what the changes might do to them, so let's get started.
You can check out tank and healer spec overviews here and here.

So there you have it, the overall state of the specs going into Shadowlands. You can soon read a lot more about all the changes and how each plays, as our guides are going to be updated very soon (or may already have been as you're reading this)! As a very general recommendation we'd still say just play the spec you're most comfortable/have the most fun with, as tuning will affect things many times throughout the expansion.
You can also check out tank and healer spec overviews here and here and the final pre-patch DPS rankings coming soon.

Here's an easy way to skip from Kologarn to General Vezzax in Ulduar as a Demon Hunter, thanks to gliding.
After defeating Kologarn, Demon Hunters can easily skip from "The Shattered Walkway" area to "The Descent into Madness" in Ulduar, where General Vezzax is located.
Cobblenation has shared the skip, and we've reached out to the OP to clarify, and you need to kill are Flame Leviathan, XT, Kologarn, and General Vezzsx to engage Yogg-Saron, which makes farming of Mimiron’s Head easier than ever!

If you have a ton of alts, you will definitely appreciate a macro that removes all quests from your quest log with the single click of a button.
Scholle_0 created a macro that easily removes all quests from your quest log! It's handy if you have many alts and want to have an empty quest log before heading into the Shadowlands.
Type /m in the chat window, create a new macro and paste the following code.
/run for i=1,C_QuestLog.GetNumQuestLogEntries() do C_QuestLog.SetSelectedQuest(C_QuestLog.GetInfo(i).questID); C_QuestLog.SetAbandonQuest(); C_QuestLog.AbandonQuest() end; Save the macro, press the button, and voila!
The author also created an addon called Abandon All Quests if you don't want to use any macros!

The pre-patch event ends 1 hour before Shadowlands goes live and this is your last chance to get the 34-slot bag, the pet, or  Accursed Keepsake before they get removed from the game permanently.
You don't need to buy Shadowlands to participate in the event! The only requirement is having a max-level character.  You can find a list of maps with all the rares here.
Papa's Mint Condition Bag is a 34-slot bag that drops from Bronjahm, an Elite in Icecrown that you can find at 71,38. He's up only once every 200 minutes, and the drop chance is small, so it will take a while before you get your bag. Check out this site to see when Bronjahm spawns next. Putrid Geist is a battle pet that you can purchase for 20 Argent Commendations, a currency from daily quests in Icecrown. Catch-up gear of Item Level 100, on par with Normal difficulty Ny'alotha, can be purchased for 15 Argent Commendations, each from quartermasters in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. If you want to purchase the whole set, you will need to gather 135 Argent Commendations. Icecrown Elites drop Item Level 110 gear, and Blizzard reduced the timer to 10 minutes. Accursed Keepsake is an upgraded Haunted Memento that has a small chance to drop from any Icecrown Elite. It spawns a ghost that follows you when you have the item in your inventory. Both items interact with each other. For more details, check out our pre-patch event guide!

Blizzard has hotfixed a debuff to the game that prevents you from gaining an early advantage in the Maw.
Eye of the Jailer has been hotfixed into the game recently, and the debuff decreases Stygia and Ve'nari Reputation gains by 100%. It's probably been implemented to prevent players from gaining an unfair advantage in the Shadowlands endgame zone, similar to how Mythic dungeons, Torghast, and the first weekly Renown quest will only become available after reset in each region.
Ve'nari offers two weekly quests that reward 425 Stygia and reputation, and you won't be able to gain Stygia or reputation with her until after the reset.
