Classic Not a Bug List Big Update for Phase 6

Recommended Posts

The infamous Classic "Not a bug" list has been updated with many things that arrived with phase 6, including Naxxramas mechanics, class features and more!

Blizzard LogoNot a Bug (source)

I’ve just updated the OP with the following:

Updates for Patch 1.13.6 (12/03/2020)

Combat & Class Mechanics

  • Consecration, Rain of Fire, Premeditation, Flamestrike, Arcane Missiles, Blizzard, and Volley are correctly counting as a debuff, but not displaying a debuff icon.
  • Life Drain effects (enchants or procs) cannot crit, consistent with reference client behavior.
  • Vaelastrasz the Corrupt and Nefarian are susceptible to the Vindication (and similar) debuff, and this strength reduction properly reduces the damage dealt by these creatures.

  • The Ice Guard enchant cannot be applied to another player’s items via the enchant slot of the trade window.
  • Green Lens’ random enchantment pool does not include elemental resistances.

  • Splinters of Atiesh are not tradable.
    • Developer’s Note: This is unfortunately due to a technical limitation that prevents us from being able to make stackable Bind-on-Pickup items tradable during the 2-hour trade window. The only alternative was to make these items non-stackable which seemed even less palatable given the high number of these items that need to be gathered to complete Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian.
  • Looting a Frozen Rune from the wall in Naxxramas will save you to the raid instance and that rune will not respawn.
  • The “Pattern: Glacial Wrists” item that has been datamined, and that appears to require Hydraxian Waterlords reputation, is not obtainable in-game. Players who are Revered with Argent Dawn and who are master Tailors can learn how to craft Glacial Wrists directly from Master Craftsman Omarion in Naxxramas.

Arachnid Quarter

  • On Anub’Rekhan, Corpse Scarabs do not immediately spawn from Crypt Guard corpses, and they may not spawn if Anub’Rekhan is out of range when the spawn timer delay is triggered.
  • It is possible to pull Infectious Skitterer packs through the gate after the Anub’Rekhan encounter with healing aggro.
  • Arcane Bombs do not affect Naxxramas Cultists or Naxxramas Acolytes.
  • The “Widow’s Embrace” debuff that Faerlina’s Worshippers cast when they sacrifice themselves will also be placed on nearby players, but has no detrimental effects.
  • Flask of Petrification and similar effects or immunities may not prevent Maexxna’s Web Spray ability. (Note: They work if you use it while she is casting Web Spray, but if you use it before the cast, it does not prevent the web spray ability, and cancelling the flask effect will still leave you stunned. Not sure if we should message this one because it just tells players how to do the encounter?)

Military Quarter

  • If any trash is left alive when Instructor Razuvious is pulled, all of the trash will pull with him.
  • Instructor Razuvious does not have a chat line accompanying the Disrupting Shout mechanic.
  • Disrupting Shout only deals damage if it drains mana, and the damage it deals is dependent upon the amount of mana drained.
  • Instructor Razuvious will emote/bark when he kills a player, but there is an internal cooldown on how often he will do so.
  • Deathknight Understudy has a small chance to miss its attacks against Instructor Razuvious.
  • Gothik the Harvester, or his adds, may spawn additional enemies if they detect no living players on one side of the encounter space.
  • Four Horsemen will run through the door to attack still-living players who are outside the encounter space when the encounter is reset.
  • Plagued Ghouls cannot be debuffed by Frost Trap.

Plague Quarter

  • Plagued Gargoyles’ AoE attacks cannot be avoided by line-of-sight manipulation.
  • Noth the Plaguebringer does not have a voice line/chat emote to signal his teleportation to the balcony to begin the adds phase.
  • Heigan the Unclean’s Mana Burn ability does not use an Arcane Explosion visual.
  • The door between the eyestalk gauntlet and Heigan the Unclean’s room is intentionally left open during the encounter.
  • The hallway between Loatheb and Heigan the Unclean is intentionally empty once the Heigan encounter has been completed.
  • Loatheb’s Spore spawn locations are dependent upon boss positioning, and match reference client.

Abomination Quarter

  • Patchwerk’s Hateful Strike mechanic considers both high threat and high HP.
  • In the 3rd row of Living Poison slimes after Patchwerk, the fifth blob that spawns always disappears, creating a gap.
  • Stitched Spewer knockbacks match the reference client.
  • Gluth’s Decimate casts are not based on time, and its interaction is consistent with design.
  • Thaddius is tauntable.
  • Positive Charge and Negative Charge debuffs are not removed when Thaddius dies, and will continue to deal damage in the presence of oppositely-charged players or when the debuffs expire.

Frostwyrm Lair

  • Frost Aura damage is not affected by Dampen Magic or Amplify Magic.
  • Sapphiron’s Blizzard deals damage periodically, but applies the Slow effect instantaneously to players in its area of effect. Players who are dipping in and out of the Blizzard effect may never take damage as reapplying the aura delays its first DoT tick.
  • Sapphiron does not display a target while casting Icebolt at players.
  • Players are out of line of sight for healing and other beneficial spells while affected by Sapphiron’s Icebolt.
  • Players who were struck by another target’s Icebolt are ineligible targets for their own Icebolt, which may result in fewer than 5 ice blocks spawning during the encounter.
  • Pets and totems cannot be targeted by Icebolt.
  • Sapphiron’s Frost Breath may be avoided with the use of Vanish.
  • Unstoppable Abominations’ health pools, Mortal Wound ability damage, and inability to be disarmed, all matches their reference client behavior.
  • Guardian of Icecrown’s scaling damage and Bloodtap ability matches reference client behavior.
  • Guardian of Icecrown can be affected by roots and snares.
  • Kel’thuzad’s highest threat target is a valid selection for Chains of Kel’Thuzad.

Blizzard sent out surveys to players about The Burning Crusade Classic, where they asked about the preferred transition from Classic to TBC, a new "fresh" Classic realm, and more. MadSeasonShow conducted his own research, and here are the poll results.
More than 12k people participated in the survey so far and answered 3 key questions.
Q1: How Likely Are You to Play a "Classic" version of The Burning Crusade?
More than 83% voted they are (very) interested in Classic TBC. The remaining 17% said they aren't excited.

Q2: Thinking about the potential ways a player could start a character in "Classic" Burning Crusade, which of the following would you prefer the most?
43% of players would like to continue playing their existing Classic character on their existing server as it progresses through to the Burning Crusade with an option to transfer to a Classic server that will never progress beyond level 60.
Almost 23% would prefer to start a brand new character from level 1 on a new Burning Crusade server.
16% would like to continue playing their current Classic character on their existing server that will never progress past level 60, with the option to transfer to a Burning Crusade server.
Finally, 15% would prefer if new characters on a Burning Crusade server started at level 58.

Q3: Where do you think you would spend more of your time?
The final question's goal was to find out where players would spend their time after the launch of TBC Classic.
85% would spend it playing on a Burning Crusade realm, 7.5% would prefer a "fresh start" WoW Classic realm with all content reset to Day 1. Almost 7% would play both equally.

In the "things I wish I'd known earlier" category, we have the fact that you can actually get the Spirit of Zandalar World buff even while you're dead!
As spotted by Crypthomie, you still need to be on the island as is normal, in ghost form, but this is a much safer way to get it. Unfortunately it doesn't last through death (although it did back in Vanilla, before the 1.12 reference patch Classic was built on) so you'll still need to get out of there alive after you get it, and it's a little unclear if your actual dead body has to be on the island or if you can just stroll in as ghost, get the buff and go back to your safely tucked away corpse! Obviously this also means you'll have to get the ZG buff first on your World buff list, but that's a smaller inconvenience than potentially losing it to PvP shenanigans.
For an even quicker escape with your dead-buff, wiklunds has a pretty solid method:

Here come some big spell batching changes to the Classic PTR, with a huge rediction in the batch window:
      PTR 1.13.7 (source)
Today, we’ve opened the WoW Classic Public Test Realm (PTR) to test version 1.13.7 of WoW Classic. In this upcoming version, we intend to reduce the spell batching delay.
There are numerous class abilities and spells from Original World of Warcraft that were re-implemented in WoW Classic with spell batching in mind, and we initially expect bugs or adverse consequences with spell batching reduced. In this PTR, testers have an opportunity to join us in finding such issues. Raids and battlegrounds are available in this PTR to facilitate testing in a wide variety of game content.
Initially, the spell batch window is set to 10 milliseconds on the 1.13.7 PTR, a reduction from the 1.13.6 live window of 400 milliseconds. Please use the in-game bug reporter (default hotkey: mouseover+F6) in the PTR to submit your bug reports or feedback on abilities with spell batching reduced.
When logged into the PTR, you can mouse over any item, spell, or talent and press the assigned hotkey to initiate a bug report for that item or spell. Bug reports created in this way include valuable metadata about the spell, your talents, and your player-state when the bug is submitted.
If you’ve unbound your “Open Bug Report” hotkey, you can rebind it in Keybindings -> PTR.
If you wish to discuss class issues related to this update with other players, we’ve opened a new discussion thread in the WoW Classic Bug Report forum here 34.
Thank you for testing WoW Classic with us!

Salad Bakers have cleared Naxxramas in WoW Classic under 60 minutes. This is the fastest speed clear of the raid so far. Congratulations!
Salad Bakers have beaten their own record (1 hour 3 minutes 56 seconds) by a couple of minutes and the guild cleared Naxxramas in 59 minutes and 44 seconds!

Here's a video of their speed clear. As TehBananaBread pointed out, a boss died every 4 minutes, which is insane!

As the Castle Nathria RWF is going on we thought it was time to share the spotlight, as another, equally as impressive and dedicated group of players has taken down the antagonist of many low level players. You can see top level raid leading, the tactics and strategies below, as things get very hairy at the end, with all cooldowns popped and the tank having to kite!
Unfortunately for the pro group above, this isn't the World First, as it's actually been done before - by a single player:
Whether this is "end of expansion" type activity or just some usual clean fun, it's always great to see players just doing their own thing and finding their own fun in WoW!
