For our Burning Crusade Classic players, we’re excited to let you know that the first major content update, Overlords of Outland, will be going live soon. Starting September 15, you’ll be able to take on Prince Kael’thas and Lady Vashj in a pair of iconic raids, engage in a new season of Arena combat, and more. We’re also working on something for WoW Classic players who’ve told us they’d like a chance at a fresh start, and will be sharing more on our plans soon.

We now also have the exact timeline. Patch 2.5.2 will release on August 31. Arena Season 1 ends on September 7. Arena Season 2 will begin on September 14. Phase 2 content unlock will happen at the same moment on September 15 at 3:00 p.m. PDT.

With scheduled weekly maintenance (August 31 in this region), we’ll release Patch 2.5.2 for Burning Crusade Classic. This will immediately include Guild Banks, the Group Browser Tool, and the Arena standings update that makes team ranking viewable and award cutoff information available at special Arena NPCs.

The following week (September 7 in this region), we’ll end Arena Season 1 with the regional reset. This will begin a one-week offseason, and the adjustments to Season 1 Arena and Honor gear costs will go into effect.

Burning Crusade Classic Arena Season 2 will begin with the regional reset on September 14 in this region.

That same week, the Phase 2 content unlock will occur at the same moment in all regions worldwide: Wednesday, September 15 at 3:00 p.m. PDT (6:00 p.m. EDT). This is the time that the Sha’tari Skyguard and Ogri’la content will become available, and Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep will open for business.

Finally, Season 1 awards will go out with the regional reset the following week (September 21 in this region).

Thank you very much!

...I haven't been really paying attention to "classic tbc", but if my memory serves didn't it launch with all raids theoretically available?     I do remember rushing to get SSC attuned well before my raid group was geared and ready for it, and also remember the first players who got into Hyjal reporting what an immensely buggy mess it was.

Yes, on original launch SSC, TK, and Hyjal were available once you completed the necessary attunements.  For TBCC though SSC and TK are phase 2 and Hyjal releases in phase 3 with Black Temple.

Yes, but it makes sense that they "timegated" them this time, considering how quickly players clear the content nowadays. I don't know much about how hard the later raids are tuned, but I'm sure there would have been a couple of sweatlords who cleared Hyjal in the first month.

Well, original Kael was practically unkillable.   Both he and Vashj received many, many nerfs over time.    But TBC was a real balance mess in practically every way...the best plate wrist was a green levelling quest item.    Naxx 40 gear was competitive with kara, and a reputation staff was BIS for druids all expansion.   Etc

Since classic launched with later version, these raids will be cleared in no time. Originally it was way harder, some stuff was overtuned (only doable with later patches for majority of guilds), but this BC already comes with some balance changes and nerfs to bosses, it should be much easier when they are opened.

No one can doubt the deep bench of historical knowledge on these forums.

Hello everyone
I have a question, will the new arrows (craft engineer : Adamantite Stinger ) appear in P2 ? or the one of the karazhan reputation ?

Update: the buff is now live on NA and EU servers as well!
It's time for joy on TBC Classic servers, as the Joyous Journeys 50% extra XO buff has gone live on Oceanic servers. It was late Monday morning for that region when it went up so we should be seeing the buff arrive shortly to EU and then NA, but it's definitely coming today (Monday).
The buff was said to arrive "at least 6-8 weeks" before WotLK Classic's launch, and we've already seen a leaked release date from the official site for September 26th, which is 1 week later, but it's now safe to say September is the target month at least.
In any case, now is the time to level up those classes you may have wanted to try out for WotLK Classic!

Prepare for #WrathClassic with a 50% XP boost.
