Fake Announcement Leak Discussion: What Will Be Announced, Will We Get Next Expansion Info?

Recommended Posts

tVtexOz.jpg

We're going to be looking at an almost 100% fake "leak" image that's been making the rounds for about a week now, as it does bring up some interesting things that may actually get announced today, and we'll also be discussing whether Blizzard will reveal what WoW's next expansion is in addition to the 9.2 info coming today. We also took a look at whether Shadowlands will have a patch 9.3 over here.

So, this "leak"... You'll see plenty of red flags in the image below, from grammar issues/typos to unrealistic timings and some really unimaginative terminology, but it does bring up plenty of interesting topics to discuss, so let's take a look.

The "Leak"

Source.

First things first, 9.2 may be a little too early for the unified faction feature (which is most likely coming in some form eventually, as previously discussed) but it's not entirely impossible, just really, really unlikely. The rest of the Shadowlands "leak" is just extremely basic, but the title is actually not bad!

Then there's the WotLK Classic announce, which is entirely too early considering Burning Crusade released this June, and from what we've seen so far, Classic is on a longer schedule. Even if we take the very latest date from "Fall 2022", it would still be around 4 months earlier than the Vanilla to BC Classic timing. This is also not impossible, as WotLK is a VERY heavily awaited release, so Blizzard might want to speed things up and wrap BC up earlier.

And now we're on to the really bad part, as the "Awakenings" leak is pretty messy overall. From the laughable "Mechanic" class name, to the grammatically weird "Hero Stance", the "Buld" typo and the airship concept (although that one does sound pretty damn cool I will admit), none of it is really adding up. The most credible part is the profession system getting a revamp, as it's been in a pretty bad state for a long time now. But this section does bring up a big question: will we actually be seeing any information on the next WoW expansion today?

The Next Expansion Teased?

The blue post announcing today's reveal video is very specific: "an exclusive developer preview of the next Content Update coming to World of Warcraft: Shadowlands". This seems to limit the content entirely to 9.2, but secret reveals at the end of something are always a great way to build hype. Also, considering the not-so-great mood the WoW community is in at the moment, a tease of the next expansion would definitely work wonders. However, it would also deflate all the 9.2 stuff, as (presuming it's good) players would just get hyped for the expansion instead of what's actually next. I really can't decide here, but I am going to go with that we do get a tease, but a very small one - perhaps just the expansion logo? That way there's a lot of speculation about what it could be (unless it's very explicit, like "World of Warcraft: Back to Azeroth for Some Low-stakes Classic Fantasy Adventures, Just Like You Asked for") and it doesn't detract too much from the actual 9.2 reveals.

So what are you expecting today's reveal to show us? And what would you want it to show us?

One VERY important thing I forgot to mention: if the Mechanic class turns out to be real, it better be voiced by Jason Statham. "But how, it's a class, not a race or character" I hear you ask - I don't care, it needs to be done!

ez, the intro quest for starting a new Mechanic is all about how someone steals your voice box and you have to build a new one, and there's only one voice available. Boom, Jason Statham, already in game as the chauffeur for the lvl 1 mount 😉

Aw, you reminded me of The Mechanic and by extension Ben Foster, who, low key, I think is one of the best actors around today.

Usually it's called Tinker not Mechanic in these fan made concepts. I assume English isn't his first language (and I'm not a native speaker), because there is some very awkward naming.

Every end of xpac someone wants to tease Tinker, even though it's been repeatedly debunked by them opting to go with engineering as a profession rather than a class, ever since it was scrapped from the original alpha testing.

Let's check out the unique and rare mounts available from the vendor in MoP Remix.
MoP Remix introduces 29 new mounts for your collection. However, there are some additional very rare mounts from raids and world bosses with a drop chance of around 1%. The best part is that you can buy them from vendors once you have enough Bronze. Just keep in mind that these items have a minimum level requirement and are quite expensive.
Reins of the Astral Cloud Serpent (1% drop from Elegon in Mogu'shan Vaults)

Reins of the Cobalt Primordial Direhorn (1% drop from world boss Oondasta)

Reins of the Slate Primordian Direhorn (Low chance to drop from the Zandalari Warbringer Rare Elite in Townlong Steppes)

Reins of the Amber Primordial Direhorn (Zandalari Warbringer)

Reins of the Jade Primordial Direhorn (Zandalari Warbringer)

Spawn of Horridon (1% drop from Horridon in Throne of Thunder)

Reins of the Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent (1% drop chance from Sha of Anger)

Reins of the Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent (World Boss Nalak)

Reins of the Thundering Onyx Cloud Serpent (World Boss Huolon)

Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent (Alani)

Son of Galleon (World Boss Galleon)

      Kor'kron Juggernaut (Mythic Garrosh)

Clutch of Ji-Kun (Ji-Kun in Throne of Thunder)

For more details, head to our MoP Remix rewards guide!

The limited time Remix event just got a lot less deadly, as Blizzard fix another bug. Certain high level boss abilities were doing double damage, but a hotfix has cleared that all up!
      Remix (Source)
With a hotfix that we applied a few minutes ago, we’ve fixed a bug that was causing some high-level boss abilities to unintentionally do double damage to players.
For players who have been inside an instance since before the hotfix went out, there will be no change until you leave and start a new instance.
Thank you for your reports and feedback!

Players without the Dragonflight expansion have been having trouble after reaching level 60in the MoP Remix event. Their characters would become locked, as levels 60 and up were part of the Dragonflight expansion, so there was quite a bit of confusion since the event wasn't supposed to require the latest expansion.
Luckily Blizzard have now clarified that this was a bug, and have since resolved it!

We believe that this issue has been fixed with an update that we deployed with realm restarts earlier this morning.

Our latest mount preview from the War Within Alpha covers Shadow Elementals. KSM mounts, anyone?
Blizzard hasn't officially confirmed any KSM mounts for War Within yet, but we've already seen two tints for the upcoming Gladiator mounts. It wouldn't surprise us if these turn out to be War Within Keystone Master mounts for the upcoming seasons. So far, we have three tints: black, gold, and purple.
      Black

      Gold

      Purple
