Not All Renown Rewards Are Account-Wide in Dragonflight

Recommended Posts

Some Renown rewards in Dragonflight are account-wide, but not all of them. In this post, we're looking at which ones are shared between all characters once unlocked.

Account-wide Renown rewards will have this information indicated in their tooltip. Most account-wide rewards are related to various faction-themed world events or treasures.

At Dragonflight launch, there will be 4 main Renown factions and 8 account-wide Renown rewards.

Dragonscale Expedition

  • Renown 2 - Expedition Scout pack treasures can be found around the Dragon Isles.
  • Renown 5 - Buried Treasures - Ability to find and dig through Disturbed Dirt mounds as long as you possess an Expedition Shovel, purchasable at the Dragonscale Basecamp from Pathfinder Jeb.
  • Renown 16 - Bagic Bound Chests - Ability to open Magic Bound Chests as long as you possess an Echanted Lockpicks, purchaseable from Pathfinder Jeb in the Dragonscale Basecamp.

Iskaara Tuskarr

  • Renown 3 - Community Feasts - Unlock Community Feasts, allowing you to partake and contribute to the great tuskarr feasts earning rep and a well deserved food buff.

Maruuk Centaur

  • Renown 4 - Call of the Plains -- The Aylaag Nomads will welcome you into their camp, wherever it happens to be.
  • Renown 5 - Call of the Hunt - Join the hunt alongside the Shikaar centaurs!

Valdrakken Accord

  • Renown 5 - Siege on Dragonbane Keep - Unlock the Siege on Dragonbane Keep in the Waking Shores.
  • Renown 7 - Aerial Challenges - Unlock Dragonriding World Quests around the Dragon Isles.

Renown itself is not account-wide and must be farmed on every single character.

It would be better to just make it account wide.  After trudging through the time gated, tedious leveling, and renown grinding of SL during the first few months of it's release I sure as heck don't want to go through that again in DF.

They are trying to force people to play with other characters because they think that if we get all the stuff on one character we ain't gonna play anymore. But the thing is... I don't want to play because I have to do same *filtered* all over again.

I am guessing you just do all the content just once. right? raids, dungeons, cause doing it again on another character is so tedious.

Seriously though, it should all be account-wide, there is no fun in doing the same thing on multiple characters.

DF Renown isn't timegated anymore than any other faction grind would be timegated.  This isn't like Shadowlands where you only can earn 2-3 renown a week.

There are also renown rewards which provide a catchup for alts, wherein you get a boost in rep gains up to a specific renown level on your alts.

Finally, DF Renown isn't required at all if all you want to do is do the core 3, assuming you have the gold to fund it.

- Renown don't affect player power at all. everything related to player power is available since day 1

- All rewards are cosmetics / Dragonriding stuff / profession patterns recipes etc

So if i have 3 alts for professions i need level up my renown to unlock those patterns recipes etc professions things for each of my crafters. For example Dragonscale Expedition renown unlocks Gem designs for Jewelcrafting profession. I need to level up my renown  to unlock those gems and start crafting and selling. Anything else is account-wide.

To me at least this totally reasonable and huge progress toward a better game. Player power should NOT be connected to secondary systems at all.

But what's the point? Everyone was so excited that renown rewards were account wide and suddenly they backstep. Why? Who made that decision?

I feel the same as most of you. I've been wishing for so long to have more and more things be account-wide, as it's really not fun playing alts anymore at all, just SO tedious and feels like a total waste of time. To see them announce literally "almost everything" would be account-wide in DF, and then have this seemingly half-baked result... sounds like a total bummer.

BUT... I gotta give it to Dreamcatcher. We have to see first whether it even feels bad to level up the renown ranks again on alts, if nothing progression or power-wise is going to be gated by them. I think that's a fair compromise. Maybe it's even fun to grind a few ranks on the sides on those alts? You can supposedly skip main quests and have everything related to the open world be unlocked immediately on any alt. That alone should hopefully make it feel like the most important parts of our overall progression in the game is account-wide. We'll see.

Reddit user givemeabreak432 has shared a photo of their friend's character from Legion who only has 1 mount in their collection and that happens to be Invincible.
Apparently, OP's friend didn't play since Legion, and as you can see in the screenshot, the Total Mount count says 1, so it's legit.

The only question is how did the player get to Icecrown Citadel in the first place?
There are several possibilities. First, Druids have access to Flight Form which eliminates the need for other mounts. There's also a special mount that you can rent if you couldn't afford flying in Wrath to reach places otherwise inaccessible. Finally, the player could have simply walked there.
All in all, it's quite rare to see such unique mount collection, don't you think?

You may have noticed the WoW servers currently not being available in all regions. Blizzard have said they're working on the issue, but we also got a more in-depth explanation from Tom Ellis, Senior Game Producer for the game.

Hopefully this is resolved soon, as this is prime time for a lot of players.

It's time to look at week 3 in Amirdrassil, with the mid-tuning round still being pretty stable. This past week sat right in the middle of two tuning passes, with the bigger one coming tomorrow/Wednesday. There was still plenty to see despite the smaller tuning changes, as Assassination is still on top, but for how long? We're also taking a look at u.gg's rankings, as we combine their Heroic and Mythic stats to try to get a better picture as the highest difficulty still doesn't have quite enough data.
      Heroic
      Overall Damage 95th Percentile
Assassination is getting better and better, with the minor fix to Envenom not having a negative effect at all. There are some nerfs coming with this week's tuning, but they probably won't change that much here. Down in the regular non-insane spec world Havoc and Demonology are still on top, but both Subtlety and Beast Mastery are VERY close behind, as the Rogue climbs a big 6 spots from the previous week. Arcane drops one to Sub, same as Enhancement to Balance, while Fury remains steady in 9th. Affliction jumps a giant 13 spots out of the bottom of the chart right into the end of the top 10, after it's buff in last week's tuning. Speaking of the bottom, Windwalker finds itself there, joined by the incorrectly calculated Augmentation (as it is far higher in reality) and some steeply falling Paladin action.

95th percentile Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Overall Damage All Percentiles
Arcane is doing a lot better here, actually rising 2 spots into 2nd (with the shorter and shorter fights benefiting it), as Demonology takes down Havoc in 3rd and Enhancement does the same to BM. Subtlety moves up here as well, 3 into 7th. Fury gets itself sandwiched between Balance and Unholy, another spot gained. Down at the bottom we see Marksmanship join in, to make it an all-green bottom 3.

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
The direct damage charts are stable as usual, as only Balance and Subtlety stir things up by pushing Demo down 2 spots, and we also see Shadow make a comeback, up 3 into 10th.

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Normal
      Overall Damage All Percentiles
Arcane is using the very speedy nature of Normal to get really close to Assassination, and we should be seeing a new No.1 next week after the nerfs. Enhancement has caught on in the lower difficulty as well, moving up 5 into 4th.

All percentiles Notmal data by Warcraft Logs.
      Mythic
      Overall Damage All Percentiles
We're still not quite there when it comes to taking Mythic fully seriously, as we haven't even had the first set of big nerfs yet. However, there's still more and more data coming in so we may as well take a look anyway.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks. This is the chart for Heroic and Mythic difficulties combined.
We'll also be taking a look at u.gg's rankings, as combining Mythic and Heroic seems like a good mix for now (and you can check them out individually on their page as well). Assassination rules still even in the combo rankings, and its fellow Rogue is actually doing even better here. Feral makes it into the top 10 just below Fury, while Elemental is doing much worse than anywhere else, joining Marksmanship and the miscounted Augmentation at the bottom.

Heroic and Mythic difficulties combined chart by u.gg.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for more information you can check out our Dragonflight class guides, Amirdrassil boss guides, the raid DPS tier list, as well as more data from Warcraft Logs here.
