Recommended Posts

The "WoW Dev 2" CDN branch has just been updated with a new encrypted Patch 1.15 build!

Sadly, the update is encrypted and we cannot see what is new. However, my gut tells me we're maybe going to hear more about Season of Mastery 2 soon.

As for the build numbers, the version got updated from 1.14.3 Build 48611 to 1.15.0 Build 49244.

(us) BuildConfig: 0b2a0c4 → 2279274!
(us) CDNConfig: 68f2b69 → 13658c7!
(us) BuildId: 48611 → 49244!
(us) VersionsName: →!

Blizzard are aware of and working on fixing the Season of Discovery Ashenvale PvP event bug that can cause it to get stuck.
      Ashenvale (Source)
We want to acknowledge a known issue that we’ve been working to identify and fix.
It’s possible in the Battle for Ashenvale PvP event to have two lieutenants get killed at precisely the same time, resulting in the entire event hanging in error for an extended time, and even affecting the start/reset of the next round of the event.
We completely understand how disruptive this is, and we’re working diligently to deliver a fix as soon as possible.

Blizzard had an extended Community Council chat on all things Classic, responding to questions from the community on many topics. Some of the highlights include the Battle for Ashenvale and how similar events might be implemented in the future, communication related to Rune discovery - specifically the more difficult to obtain ones and more. One interesting discussion was related to what will happen to Season of Discovery characters when the season is done and which servers would they then go to, as it seems all options are open right now and they are looking for feedback.
Another interesting SoD tidbit is related to players now finishing quests at max level for gold, which means those will not be available when the next phase opens. That will leave a pretty big XP gap for those players, and Blizzard are looking to fill it, possibly with more XP for Supply Crates.

A Level 25 Metamorphosis Warlock has soloed Shadowfang Keep in Season of Discovery.
We've seen a healing Mage solo Deadmines and now it's time for Warlocks to shine. Here's a video a Warlock tank solo Shadowfang Keep. Here are some useful tips by MrNinjaBurger for those who would like to try solo the dungeon.
      Background Information
It's that time again. Time to solo because I can, and I have greens baby.
Today's target is Shadowfang Keep on the warlock.
Most of it is boss fights, but I keep a few examples of potentially tricky trash and pulls in too.
Reth comes with a couple adds as per the laws of the game kill the adds them him. No reset so tank 'em near the rail in the video and hop down a level when you need time, and repeat as needed. Pretty easy.
The magic immunes are annoying, but drain when you can, and remember you can still melee them while you wait. This might be a time to pull out the succubus for the higher melee damage.
Butcher. Can pull with adds. Not much of an issue to be honest. Adds then boss, the end. Biggest threat is his mana burn on attack so feel free to kite if needed.
Silverlane. Can hit hard, but if you have decent arm not a huge hassle. Use the table I'm on if you want to mess with ai and need healing time.
After killing him a pat spawns behind so kill it first just to get rid of it.
Springvale will pull with an add usually. Throw your pet at the boss to buy time for you to work on the add, and gain distance. It'll also make the ai waste time casting spells, and healing itself which only helps.
He has a stun, and does decent damage so make sure to keep the healing up, master channeler is great here for this.
Another pat spawns after he dies so take em out.
Odo comes with a couple bats. Just run back and kite em and use the table to whittle them down. Once he starts getting big just stay out of melee range to be safe if you want.
The group of 4+ pulls are the same kiting strat, although I do dip in an out of melee to spam shadow cleave on the delusions to clear them out. If you're not feeling spicy just range em.
Doggo can hit hard and has an irritating mana drain poison which isn't as bad as Butchers but worth noting. Tank em on the railing so you can hop down as needed.
Pull the houndmaster dogs downstairs so he won't instant aggro you when they die. Then kite the boss to death. Adds will never stop spawning, and it's a race to kill him before you get overwhelmed. If you can manage it, it might be worth hyper dps'ing and taking the death to get them all to despawn after he dies.
      Arugal. This guy.
So every so often he teleports to an area near his room, or close to it. He does a LOS 300+ shadow dmg bolt, melees for 150+ on tanks, has an aoe melee stun, and most fun of all will mind control from time to time.
He is a caster and will be defeated by LOS. You have some window of time between 'release your rage' ticks to be in his los and cast any dots you need.
Pattern becomes throw some dots, and when he starts casting los then repeat slowly going down the stairs til he teleports away and repeat.
Use void because if you mess up and get mind controlled you want something that won't die and cause him to reset.
Finally, here's a video of the whole run.

Blizzard have detailed additional improvements they've made to the Ashenvale PvP experience, with a focus on everyone getting reputation for killing Lieutenants, mounts coming in at Friendly and the event lasting twice as long.
      Ashenvale (Source)
The following changes are now live:
When a character makes any hostile action against an opposing faction Lieutenant (e.g. Keepers of the Grove, Blademasters) or faction leader in the various objective areas, they will receive reputation when that enemy dies. It must be an offensive action (harmful spell, harmful ability, melee attack, or ranged attack) against an enemy to receive reputation. This also affects Healers who must use an offensive actions against the Lieutenant or faction leader. Characters will receive reputation even if they are dead or no longer nearby as long as they are still in the zone when the enemy dies. Characters will receive 200 reputation for killing a Lieutenant and all members of the winning faction will receive 200 reputation when the faction leader dies. The winning team will also receive 100 reputation per friendly Lieutenant remaining. Example: If there are two Lieutenants alive when the battle is won, a character will gain 200 reputation plus whatever was earned from defeating objectives plus the 200 reputation from killing the enemy faction leader (assuming the character used an offensive action against the faction leader). The Trainee’s Sentinel Nightsaber and Trainee’s Outrider Wolf now require Friendly reputation with the Silverwing Sentinels and Warsong Outriders respectively (was Honored). Players now have 60 minutes to complete the Ashenvale PvP event (was 30 minutes).
