Here are the notes for this week’s update to the Fractures in Time PTR:

CLASSES

  • EVOKER
    • Augmentation
      • Mastery: Timewalker grants Shifting Sands to 1 ally (was 2).
      • Prescience duration reduced to 18 seconds (was 20 seconds).
      • Black Attunement health bonus reduced to 4% (was 5%).
      • Aspect’s Favor increases Black Attunement to 10/16% (was 12.5/20%).

      • Born in Flame has been redesigned – Casting Ebon Might grants Burnout immediately and every 3 seconds for 6 seconds, reducing the cast time of Living Flame by 100% (was Ebon Might caused Living Flame to be instant cast for its duration).

      • Rewind now rewinds 40% of damage taken in the last 5 seconds (was 50%).
      • Exhilarating Burst now increases critical healing effectiveness by an additional 30% per rank (was 15%).
  • MAGE
    • Developers’ note: After several rounds of updates to the Fire and Frost talent trees, each tree has seen a significant boost in power which in turn has put their overall throughput quite a bit higher than their live counterparts. While some gain in power is to be expected due to these changes, their current tuning has them quite a bit higher than we intend. Due to this, in the latest build we are reducing the damage of many of their spells to get us a better baseline to work from for the two specs. Which in turn, should make it easier for us to continue to iterate on tuning based on internal and external testing as the Fractures in Time PTR continues to develop. The intent with these tuning changes is not to disrupt the current flow, playstyles, or talent builds that have arisen with the updates but rather keep the relative balance and breakdown of abilities similar as the are now but with just a bit less output. Thank you for the overwhelming amount of feedback and testing during the Fractures in Time PTR cycles it has been instrumental to development of the Mage updates.

      • The duration of Tyr’s Deliverance’s healing increase effect has increased to 12 seconds (was 10 seconds).
      • Boundless Salvation can now extend Tyr’s Deliverance by up to 40 seconds (was 50 seconds).
        • Developers’ note: Tyr’s Deliverance’s base duration did not feel competitive with other singular talent points within the final section of the tree. We are increasing its duration and reducing the effectiveness of Boundless Salvation accordingly with the goal of each talent point spent standing on its own merits while leaving a similar overall power level.
      • Holy Prism now radiates healing or damage to targets within 30 yards (was 15 yards).
      • Hammer of Wrath now costs 1% of base mana.
      • Glimmer of Light healing increased by 400% (was 450%).
      • The Starter Build has been updated.
    • Protection
      • Shining Light tooltip adjusted to clarify that it only removes the Holy Power cost from Word of Glory, not mana cost.
  • PRIEST
    • Discipline
      • New Talent: Luminous Barrier – Create a shield on all allies within 40 yards, absorbing damage on each of them for 10 seconds. Absorption increased by 100% when not in a raid. Luminous Barrier returns as a choice node against Power Word: Barrier.

ITEMS AND REWARDS

  • CROSS-REALM TRADING
    • Players will now be able to trade items and gold directly to characters on other realms in their region. When they reopen the PTR I'll try Aug evoker again.

So far I have not been impressed with its survivability.  Meanwhile I feel many players can't learn a spec unless they live it, so, it really needs to be capable without being the number 1 sidekick too.

We've summarized all Mage changes that went live in the fourth War Within Alpha build.
Mages are under Blizzard's radar for several builds in a row now. We're highlighting some of the changes below:
Death's Chill has been simplified. Instead of gaining increased damage based on the number of enemies hit by Frostbolt, now each Frostbolt hit increases spell damage by a flat percentage. Lit Fuse - The affected spell changed from Phoenix Flames to Fire Blast and the damage percentage has been doubled. Living Bomb - Damage dealt significantly buffed. Volatile Magic - The ability will now trigger when an Embedded Arcane Spliter is removed. Improved Scorch - Health threshold buffed from 4% to 30% and damage increase slightly buffed. Feel the Burn - Mastery % increase buffed, duration reduced. Kindling - Flamestrike was added to the list that can reduce the coldown of Combustion.  Controlled Destruction - Ignite damage per Pyroblast hit has been reduced, but is stacks up to 25 times now. Unleash Inferno - Combustion's damage increase and cooldown reduction have been improved. Here are the tooltip changes:
      Mage Changes
Death's Chill- While Icy Veins is active, gain 1% increased damage for each enemy hit by Frostbolt damaging an enemy with Frostbolt increases spell damage by 1%. Lit Fuse- Consuming Hot Streak has a 5% chance to grant you Lit Fuse. Lit Fuse : Your next Phoenix Flames Fire Blast turn turns up to three struck nearby targets into a Living Bomb that explodes after 2 sec, dealing [ 30% 60% of Spell Power ] Fire damage to the target and reduced damage to all other enemies within 10 yds. Up to five enemies hit by this explosion also become a Living Bomb, but this effect cannot spread further. Living Bomb- The target becomes a Living Bomb, taking 0 Fire damage over 2 sec, and then exploding to deal an additional [ 30% 60% of Spell Power ] Fire damage to the target and reduced damage to all other enemies within 10 yds. Other enemies hit by this explosion also become a Living Bomb, but this effect cannot spread further. Volatile Magic- Whenever an Embedded Arcane Splinter is removed, or recalled, it explodes, dealing [ 10% of Spell Power ] Arcane damage to nearby enemies. Deals reduced damage beyond 5 targets. Explosivo- Casting Combustion grants Lit Fuse. While under the effects of Combustion, consuming Hot Streak has a 30% increased chance of granting you Lit Fuse your chance of gaining Lit Fuse while under the effects of Combustion is increased to 30%. Improved Scorch- Casting Scorch on targets below 4% 30% health increase the target's damage taken from you by 4% 5% for 12 sec. This effect stacks up to 2 times. Feel the Burn- Fire Blast and Phoenix Flames increase your mastery by [ 200% 300% of mas ]% for 6 5 sec. This effect stacks up to 3 times. Kindling- Your Fireball, Pyroblast, Fire Blast, Scorch and Phoenix Flames critical strikes reduce the remaining cooldown on Combustion by [ 1,000 / 1,000.1 ] sec. Flamestrike critical strikes reduce the remaining cooldown of Combustion by 0.2 sec for each critical strike, up to 1 sec. Controlled Destruction- Damaging a target with Pyroblast increases the damage it receives from Ignite by 2% 1%. Stacks up to 25 times. Unleashed Inferno- While Combustion is active your Fireball, Pyroblast, Fire Blast, Scorch, and Phoenix Flames deal 50% 60% increased damage and reduce the cooldown of Combustion by 1.25 sec. Blizzard has updated the official Dark Heart patch notes with more details about the daily lockout for Mists of Pandaria content and BfA raid nerfs to improve soloing!
      (Source)
Hello! We updated the Dark Heart patch notes with the following changes:
      DUNGEONS AND RAIDS
The lockouts for the following raids in Mists of Pandaria content now reset each day, for both Dragonflight and WoW Remix characters: Normal and Heroic 10-player Mogu’shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Terrace of Endless Spring, and Throne of Thunder. Normal and Heroic 10-30 player Siege of Orgrimmar Mythic 20-player Siege of Orgrimmar Raid lockouts will return to a weekly cadence after WoW Remix closes. Battle for Azeroth raid mechanics which block legacy encounter completion for small groups have been adjusted to be more permissive. Groups of five or fewer players should no longer be blocked by mechanics that cannot be completed at that raid size.

WoW's next expansion is already full of amazing new features, but it might just have one more ace up its sleeve! The ability to change colors on, well everything really, has been one of the top community request since forever, and there are some hints that some form of a dyeing system could be in the works!
Prolific community dataminer keyboardturn has been poking away at the War Within Alpha sine it arrived, and today she's found a big one. Starting with a cryptic thread, she slowly unveiled her detective work:
Seems like a version of the gold/blue dress thing from a while ago, right? Not quite. As she says in the first tweet, there's a lot more to it:
And finally, the extremely excited conclusion:

This also isn't the only indication at a dye-related system appearing either. A much less indicative clue was found earlier on the Alpha as well, as the Azj-Kahet city of the War Within actually hosts some interesting NPCs, with not only dye vendors available, but also dye removers and a dyed fabric vendor as well:

Now, a version of this was already in the game for a while, but this is a significant broadening of it, as keyboardtun explains:

Seems like a lot of indications of something going on, right? Now, what exactly these vendors are for isn't exactly crystal clear. What exactly would we be dying? Could it be the extremely and infinitely asked-for gear dying? That seems a little less likely, especially right off the bat, as re-colored gear sets are  very large part of WoW's transmog reward scheme. So what else could it be? Perhaps tailors will be able to craft specific and special pieces of gear that can be dyed? Or maybe this isn't even gear-related at all and there's a whole other system being added that this would be used for (*cough*housing*cough*)? Of course it also might just be an internal thing, unrelated to players at all, and the vendors are just for something else.
The tech does seem to be developed, but for precisely what purpose will remain a mystery until Blizzard reveal it. What would you want it to be?

The Remix limited time event arrives this Thursday May 16th, and Blizzard have prepared an overview video covering all its major features!
As Classic and retail players can dive in (as a Dragonflight expansion is not required), many players will be able to experience Pandaria once again, except with some major twists. All classes and specs are getting new abilities through various types of gems you can socket into the newly revised gear, everything can drop from everywhere, and there's even an awesome Bronze currency (which also drops from everywhere) which allows you to get a whole host of MoP mounts and transmogs!
There's a lot more to it as well, so let's dive in:
