Is Patch 10.2 the Final Major Patch of Dragonflight? (Speculation)

Recommended Posts

Patch 10.2 adds an Ahead of the Curve mount from Fyrakk. Could Guardians of the Dream be the final major content update of Dragonflight?

Everything here is based on pure speculation, but it could very well be that Patch 10.2 is the final raid/major content update for Dragonflight.

We're getting an Ahead of the Curve mount from Fyrakk in Patch 10.2, as revealed in our Patch 10.2 interview. The flavor is a Full Transformation of a Shadowflame version of Fyrakk. While we do not have a preview available at this time, Blizzard usually adds Ahead of the Curve mounts in the last raid tier of an expansion.

If, in fact, 10.2 is the last major content update, we will probably have to wait a year for a new expansion to go live. There would certainly be 10.2.5 and 10.2.7 patches, along with a Season 4 to keep us busy in the meantime, similar to Shadowlands Season 4 with its raid rotations and new challenges.

It will also mean we don't get to confront the big bad, Iridikron, in Dragonflight itself, and he will continue to be the focus of the story in the following expansion as well! Considering how well set up Iridikron is in terms of not underestimating the players' power it's not completely impossible that he becomes a longer-running villain, and it may even be an interesting change of pace to the usual expansion end.

So, what do you think? Will 10.2 be the last major patch of Dragonflight?

If patch 10.2 ends up being the final patch of the expansion for raiding content it will be a fail for the whole expansion and blizz just gave up and moved on

Yeah, story will feel incomplete, Fyrakk isn't the last Incarnate remaining. Hopefully this expansion won't end on a horrible cliffhanger like Shadowlands, but with current writers it's highly possible. Although I want all of these Incarnates and their Primalists to be put down, this whole story feels like a rehash of Cataclysm with Twilight's Hammer, minus Old God corruption.

it will all come down to what they annouce at Blizzcon. Since 10.2 wont be out before then. So Expansion will be annouced and then they need to show timeframe for next year and I have a feeling that they will just do 10.2 content to bridge to next expansion and go thats it folks and another dumb move by blizz.

I think it is a good move to make 10.2 the final patch. We have basically done everything we could do with dragons. More content after 10.2 would just be repeating things (except making them slightly different- so it seems new). You could tell that players are starting to drift away from DF a bit.

It's about time for a change. When you look at the timings of all these things even if 10.2 is the final patch, 11 is a looong way away. If they made a 10.3 and had a 10.2.5 and 10.2.7 it would years before 11. DF would run too long in that case.

Since we did the new class/ new race thing in Df, maybe its time for a fourth spec for each class (get a few more support in there) and some class skins.

Dragonflight is a good expansion, i've been enjoying it since launch and it deserves 10.3

I truly hope Blizzard won't ruin it for me. it needs a true major patch not just like SL season 4

If this is the last major patch, when will I be able to have normal flying in DF?  I am waiting to level my last alts until I can use normal flying.  I don't like to land on mobs.

It’s been announced that 10.2 will open up “normal” flying in the Dragon Isles. There’s a pathfinder achievement, but it should be fairly easy to finish for folks who’ve been playing through Dragonflight.

But... you're the one aiming your landing.

It looks like the only thing remaining will be the new faction renown, still could take a while. Depends how many sources of renown are out there.

Perhaps for you. For me, it’s been one of the best expansions. The patches have been a bit underwhelming, but overall Dragonflight is one of my faves. (Legion still being tops for me.)

Today's hotfixes are retail-heavy, with Renown-related NPCs getting fixed, as well as the troll heritage quest, and timewalking issues with the Trading Post, with a Hunter fix in Cata Classic as well.
      May 16 (Source)
      WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria
Fixed a bug that initially prevented players who did not own Dragonflight from being able to learn Dragonriding from Lord Andestrasz in Remix: Pandaria. This was unintended. Non-Player Characters
Jenafur has managed to wash off the strange grey paint that also changed her eye color. Jenafur is now once again a properly striped feline, allegedly. Melsysra fell back asleep and found their way back to the Central Encampment in the Emerald Dream, allowing players to continue with their Renown quests. Newsy was slow retrieving mail but has had a successful trip to the postmaster in Dalaran, allowing players to return to Loamm and continue with their Renown quests. Alleria and Umbric are now always present as expected for quest completion. Quests
Fixed a bug that prevented Trolls from unlocking the “Loa’s Blade-Blessing” cosmetic sword appearance if they finished the heritage questline with a character who couldn’t use it. Players will find the sword in their collection after logging into the character who completed the questline. Trading Post
Fixed an issue where multiple completions of a Timewalking dungeon would not count toward the associated Trading Post activity.
      Cataclysm Classic
Hunter The Ancient Hysteria effect from Hunter Corehound pets will now clear properly after encounters end.

Find out how to obtain the elusive Tusks of Mannoroth and Garrosh's long-removed heirloom weapons in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria.
While the Heirlooms from Garrosh have been removed with the release of Patch 6.0, there's a way to get them now in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. The same can be said about the Tusks of Mannoroth that currently have an abysmal drop rate on live servers.
However, Blizzard has changed the Siege of Orgrimmar lockout to daily with Patch 10.2.7 until August 19, so you'll at least have more chances to loot that or the Kor'kron Juggernaut mount.
Now, to obtain the Garrosh Heirlooms, you will need to farm something called Bones of Mannoroth. This item drops from Garrosh Hellscream in the Siege of Orgrimmar in MoP Remix on Normal difficulty and higher. Currently, we do not know how many bones will drop from a single kill, but you can kill the boss every day due to the lockout changes.
In addition to bones, you will need to farm a hefty amount of Bronze too! Tusks of Mannoroth cost a whopping 38500 Bronze and 20 Bones of Mannoroth.
The heirlooms (e.g. Hellscream's Decapitator) cost 8000 Bronze and 2 Bones of Mannoroth each.
Talk to Pythagorus at any infinite bazaar in the game to buy the items.
Oh, and you can also buy the Mythic Garrosh mount, Kor'kron Juggernaut, for 38500 Bronze from the mount vendor.
For more details, check out our MoP Remix rewards guide!

Reddit user contidivide has created a useful app for tracking your bronze purchases. It contains a list of all items you can buy from the vendors during MoP remix and all costs!
For more details head over to Remix Checklist!

The app was inspired by Kalsith's spreadsheet posted on Reddit a month ago, so if you prefer to create your own copy and use it locally, you will find it here. It contains all prices and items available from the vendors.
