strafe impale build

Hey everyone,

So, I had ignored the impale strafe build up until last night.  Just over p1400, did the gear modifications to my existing s6 impale build that I had for s34.  Managed up to a GR130 in just over 8 minutes, but with 3 or 4 deaths.  

The power is there, so tried a GR135 - pretty much non-stop dying.   The build is powerful, but a complete glass cannon and imho, unplayable on higher GRs.  

Am I doing something wrong?

I think you can try switching to Fortress Ballista if not using it. Keep Shadow Power – Gloom 100% active or refresh Elusive Ring every 5–7 seconds (Vault or Evasive Fire). Or you can use Awareness passive (and maybe Perfectionist) until you’re more comfortable.

Many thanks for the reply.  I solved my issues by switching from CC to Guardians set.  Much, much better.  Much tankier.  I've played DH since s10 and usually been top 10 globally (SC, PS4).  I think I ended up managing a GR144 clear in that season.  Currently have done a GR135 in under 7 minutes in s36, think I can hit a GR140/141.  Only at low paragon (p1300) as I'm not the type of player that grinds paragon.  Hopefully your season is going well.
