Hello all! I am looking for some help for one of my raiders. Her DPS seems a bit lower for her ilvl. Unfortunately, with the new changes to SPriest, I am unable to provide the help that she deserves. I'm looking for any advice and was wondering if anybody could take a look at our logs and potentially analyze them. Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated:

The SPriest in Question is Sassenachh

Thank you,
Rohhan

Low gain on Shadow orbs compared to the other priest, (her with 34, them with 38(for Butcher, this issue was consistent through other fights)), whilst it's not bad it's enough orbs to make up a DP which means she lost one DP which is.. a DPS loss)

On the more movement fights her shadow orb gain drops a LOT. She *needs* to make sure she's using mind blast on CD and using shadow word: death on CD in execute phase. On fights with adds - shadow word: death snipe! It gives orbs + DPS.

I know movement is hard for shadow, since a lot of stuff has a cast-time. But there are things she *can* do on the move, her mind blast, her shadow word: death, power word: shield since there's no disc priest and she's using reflective shield.
On fights with adds that will live the duration of the DoTs she should be multi-dotting. (Tectus, Brackenspore, Ogron(dots on one, other DPS on other))

Also, for HEAVY movement, I.E Tectus and Ogron, she should take the Surge of Darkness talent because it gives free instant mind spikes.

Also, it looked like she's glyphed shadow word: death? If she has I wouldn't do that.
Could probably also cast Halo a bit more.
Anyways, I'm gonna leave it at that because that's probably all the advice I can give(I'm no shadow priest, I have basic knowledge so you get basic-level help from me) So I'm gonna let someone who knows shadow better to take over from here.
(Also, for future people who come here, the armoury of the priest in question is here that way you don't need to go searching like I did)

Editing an afterthought: when you relay this advice back to her, I would recommend to her that if she needs further help that she maybe come herself, that way there's no risk of miscommunication through a middle-man such as yourself. But I'm glad to see your trying to help your raiders improve rather than just telling them they need to improve but they need to do so alone or get kicked or something like that, that's always a good thing to do and not something that's always done.

Arright let's pick a fight...  H Kargath kill.  She scored 15k dps to the other priest's 20.

==Kargath==

It appears that Surge of Darkness talent was taken for this fight.  I don't think there's enough movement to justify it, I would go with Insanity instead.

Didn't potion during bloodlust (did prepot though.)

Execution priority should be to cast Dev Plague only when you're at max shadow orbs, or MB and SW:Death are on cooldown.  There's no rush to spend at 4- shadow orbs.  (it's hard to say this for 100% sure though, the logging this time was a little inaccurate in regards to shadow orbs.)

SW:Death was not cast anywhere near often enough during execution phase.

She appears to be using a dotweave, which surprised me given her dps.

She left Shadowfiend off cooldown for 48 seconds.  Not a problem in and of itself on this fight since it lasts less than 6 minutes, but potentially indicitive of other problems.

That's all I can see for now.

I echo all of Kulia's sentimates above.  Kudos to you, and please send her here if more help is required.  We'd be glad to assist.  Good luck

Hello, people pretty much covered what needs to be said about her performance, but I would like to add that since she is using clarity of power and I see from her log MS and MB are her top damage so she's using the MS/MB dot weaving rotation; gem and enchant mastery instead of haste.

Thank you!

Hmmm.  Actually, that is true.  Haste is important up to 15%.  I'd replace those enchants with mastery.  Also, no neck enchant.

My gear was worse than hers when I did h kargath (blues and 545-549 ilvl) doing 23k Dps to her 15k. I feel that mastery is the easiest stat to get up by 1% compared to haste. And kargarth is pretty stationary if you position yourself properly. Her execute phase could be way better.

I would suggest to her to never waste her shadow orbs. If you have double swd and your first swd gives you 5 orbs, hit dp then do the next swd and try to keep mb off cd as much as you can without over capping dp which should be easy to do.

<Exo> is an old guild from Dragonblight which semi-recently transferred to Stormrage in search of mythic raiders. We are a guild full of experienced raiders always looking to expand our roster.
We are not a world first guild nor do we aim to be. Our primary goal is to get loot and have a good time, however this still means on progression nights we do expect you to show up, put on your serious face, and kill some shit.
Our raids are on 3 nights a week; Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9pm-12 Server Time (EST). The Monday raids are optional farm/alt nights (Normal/Heroic) with Tuesday/Wednesday being mandatory progression nights.
Currently we are in need of any competent DPS, off specs are always a welcome addition but not required. Performance and skill will be looked at above gear, experience, or class.
We do not have a minimum item level required to join our raid team, however we will require you to catch up in our Monday farm-runs up until you are at a mythic level.
If you have any questions or are interested in joining or trialing with us please add Pasha#1800, Java#1849 or Bushido#1988 on bnet to talk with an officer.

Guild: Dawn of the Dead | http://www.dotd.org   Faction: Horde | Server: Zul'jin (PvE) | Timezone: EST   Current Progression: 4/8M Uldir   We've been raiding max size raids continuously since WoW has been released and are the only guild to have done so here on Zul'jin. We have strong leadership, no drama, and plans to keep raiding for years to come. Unlike many guilds, we're not recruiting for the short term, and we don't over-recruit.   Website: www.dotd.org
Raid Times: Our schedule is 8-11 EST Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.   Needs: We are a small guild, and we expect high attendance. As such, we recruit people to raid, and desire people who can step in and contribute immediately. We don’t recruit people to sit around, so all spots are for raiders who can expect to be in most every raid.   We are currently looking to add skilled and reliable:   Ranged DPS:
      High: Warlock
      Medium: Mage, S.Priest, Boomkin
      1 Healer:
      High: MW Monk
*ALL exceptional applicants will be considered regardless of the class.   What we ask of you:   Effort: Not all applicants come from highly progressed guilds, and that’s okay, but it does mean that you need to be prepared. We recruit the player, not the gear, but we do ask that you have some current experience and be a minimum iLvl of 370. You need to have the best gear available to you, (BoE, Crafted) with gems and top end enchants. You also need to be able to display an understanding of your class mechanics, role in a raid, and ability to learn new fights.   Attitude: It’s a game. We play for fun. How you fit in with the guild is taken very seriously. We’re a bunch of mostly 18-30 guys and girls who have fun playing together. While we have a good time, we also know when it’s time to buckle down and work hard.   Skill: The best way to determine skill is to see you in a raid. Because we don’t wish to have anyone transfer that we’re not serious about, be able to express your knowledge of your class and why you’re an exceptional player who would be an asset and is worth a shot. Gear will come with time. Skill will not. Impress us with your knowledge of your class and gameplay mechanics. Feel free to share any logs, theorycrafting, or other work you've done.   Commitment: We make a commitment to you, and ask you to do the same to us. A raid takes a team of more than 20 individuals working together. We rely on you to show up to raids, research your class and new fights, respect your fellow players, and notify us when you are unavailable. You rely on us for gear, experience, and coordination. It's a large investment of our time to train and gear new players, and we ask the same investment on your part so that we can each benefit.   We have a variety of informational resources available to prospective applicants on our web site: http://www.dotd.org-- please refer to our "Applications" forum for detailed information. Also feel free to visit us on WoWProgresss for more information and kill videos! http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/...wn+of+the+Dead   Should you wish to speak to someone in-game, please don't hesitate to reach out to an officer directly, whisper Xanah (Xana#1662) or Jeare (Jeare#1759).   We look forward to hearing from you soon!
