Mists of Pandaria Classic Inscription Profession and Leveling Guide

Inscription is a very well-rounded and useful profession that turns herbs into pigments with its unique Milling ability, which are then used to craft items that provide benefits in many areas of the game, namely glyphs that enhance various abilities, and darkmoon cards that can be exchanged for powerful trinkets.

The main change with Inscription are the new, tradable shoulder enchants. Previously, players would earn their shoulder enchants through earning high reptutation with certain factions, but now players must get their shoulder enchants from an Inscriptionist. This adds additional means to make gold with the profession, opening it up more to end-game players.

When you learn Inscription you gain the ability Milling. You can use this to break down 5 herbs into 2-4 pigments depending on the herbs used. These pigments can be turned into inks, which are needed to craft everything in Inscription. You can use any of the herbs listed to get the associated pigment, mixing and matching if needed depending on auction house prices.

Here you have the option to keep making glyphs from earlier, or to start making should enchants either to sell or keep for yourself. The following can be made starting at 570 Inscription, and can be made all the way until 600. These shoulder enchants are bind-on-equip and can be sold on the auction house, or to other players.
