Midnight: Leveling, Zone Progression, Adventure Mode, and More
The following guide provides general information about leveling in the Midnight expansion and explains the differences between leveling your main and alts.
Midnight Leveling Guides
Below, you will find links to our leveling guides for each class.
What is the Required Level for the Midnight Intro Questline?
Your character needs to be at least Level 78 to be able to start the Midnight intro questline.
Leveling Zone Order in the Midnight Expansion
Your first character must follow a progression path that branches after the first zone, Eversong Woods. Then you can progress through either Zul'Aman, Harandar, or join Arator in a questline that takes you across other parts of the Eastern Kingdoms. After completing all three the final zone, Voidstorm, awaits. You will visit the following zones throughout your adventure in Midnight:
- Eversong Woods (Level 80-82)
- Eastern Kingdoms, Arator Questline (Level 82-88)
- Zul'Aman (Level 82-88)
- Harandar (Level 82-88)
- Voidstorm (Level 88-90)
Here is the map of Quel'Thalas with all its zones.
Level-Up Dungeons
The following level-up dungeons will be available before you reach Level 90. Note that some dungeons have a level requirement or a quest requirement before you will be able to queue up for it. You can generally enter the dungeon manually even if you do not have the required ilvl though.
- Windrunner Spire
- Murder Row
- Den of Nalorakk
- Maisara Caverns
- The Blinding Vale
Delves and Leveling
Delves, introduced in The War Within, return in Midnight as bite sized instanced content designed for solo players or small groups.
During the main campaign, you will be required to complete Shadow Enclave delve. When you enter, always pick up the first time completion quest. Every delve offers a one time quest that grants a solid experience reward and significantly can improve leveling efficiency.
Make sure to avoid repeatedly clearing delves without the first-time quest. The base experience from repeat runs is minimal and not an efficient leveling method.
For more information on the delves within Midnight, checkout our guide below!
Adventure Mode in Midnight
When you finish the main campaign, you will unlock
Adventure Mode for all of your alts,
which can significantly speed up leveling for your other characters.
Once unlocked, all your future characters will start at the Sanctum of Light in Silvermoon, and can freely pick the zone order for replaying the campaign or leveling up via World Quests and events.
Skyriding and Leveling
Skyriding will be available immediately from the start of Midnight, without any limits.
Check out our Skyriding guide linked below for more details.
Chromie Time Changes in Midnight
Chromie Time in Midnight covers levels 10–70 and includes Dragonflight as the default option. Once reaching level 70, there is an expedited story mode for The War Within that will catch you up on the story leading into Midnight.
Experience Requirements for Level 90 in Midnight
The main level-up campaign consists of 17 chapters total. You should reach close to level 90 by just doing the campaign quests, after which you will unlock world quests to reach the end. Feel free to do side quests and dungeons during your leveling experience as well to reach max level!
