Chronotector Guide - Chrono Odyssey (CBT)

The information on this page is based off the recent Closed Beta Test (CBT) of Chrono Odyssey. This information may change as additional updates and developments are made to the game. We will continue to test and update this page as new information releases.

Having both plot significance and impact on gameplay, the Chronotector is a key component to Chrono Odyssey's progression system. The Chronotector becomes stronger as you progress in the game's main objectives, giving access to new temporal related abilities that help you, not only in combat, but also in the open world's vast amount of quests and side content.

Unlocking and Upgrading the Chronotector's Abilities

The beginning of the game automatically equips you with the Chronotector and the first ability, Temporal Tuning, as they are needed to progress the main objectives. With each Chrono Gate that is cleared, a Movement will drop along with a Specter Contract. Movements are the needed currency to unlock more abilities. Upon defeating the first Chrono Gate boss, you will be called to the Citadel once more to talk with Veila. After a bit of lore exposition and talking to the other Sentinels, talk to Petra who introduces the the next ability, Summon, which is where the Specter Contracts are used.

Chronotector Abilities

The Chronotector comes with five unique abilities that become unlocked after getting the required Movement from the respective Chrono Gate boss. Temporal Tuning, Temporal Isolation, and Temporal Resistance are mostly for open world content and traversal. Summon and Time Reversal are your go-to tools to have in your arsenal during combat. Below are each corresponding drop and a table of the Chronotector abilities.

  • Thousandfold Piercer - Summon Specter Movement
  • Earthbreaker - Isolation Movement
  • Primeval Capra - Resistance Movement
  • Arsenalith - Reversal Movement
AbilityDescription
Time Reversal Reverts the caster's position and HP to their previous state after 10 seconds.
Temporal Isolation Halts enemy movement for a set duration. When used while under enemy Temporal Isolation, disables its effects.
Summon Summons a specter that fights alongside you for a set duration, vanishing after unleashing a powerful skill.
Temporal Tuning Reduces a shockwave that reveals traces of the past, including specific objects and footprints.
Temporal Resistance Grants slow fall and aerial gliding. Does not prevent fall damage after the effects end.
4.

Ability Upgrades

Each temporal ability can be upgraded further through the use of Enhancement Points. These are obtained by doing other battle content in the game, such as Labyrinths. These points can be allocated and reset for free any time at the Citadel. Upgrades affect aspects like duration, cooldown, and range. As you progress further on the upgrade nodes, the required cost of Enhancement Points will increase.

5.

Specter Summons

Defeated Void Apostles in Chrono Gates drop Specter Contracts that can be exchanged with Petra. Naturally progressing through the Chrono Gates will unlock increasingly stronger summons. Each summon has different stats and use some of their boss patterns in combat. When upgrading the Summon ability on the Chronotector, Earthbreaker, Primeval Capra, and Arsenalith are immune to any duration increase effects granted by the upgrade nodes.
