Steady Focus vs TotH with FS

Recommended Posts

After reading through a thread below, I was weighing in the options on using SF and LW.

I'm very comfortable with FS in my rotation, but is Steady Focus still the talent to take paired with FS?

I use TotH with LW (Which only primarily use on Imp). I'm still unsure with which talent pairs best with FS.

I'm going to SIM my hunter when I get home today to see, but what is the general consensus of what most are using?

While SF+FS sims higher by a few hundred for a ST patchwerk fight (of which there are none, even Butcher has some movement), TotH+FS is the default setup for all fights in HM.  The reason is that you can get more AS using TotH, and thus more AS and SS damage, not to mention that TotH really helps with negating the dps loss that is movement, since AS will cost 20 focus less.  There's also the fact that as soon as adds are entered into the equation, TotH makes for very easy multidotting, and a lot less focus intensive than it is for SF.  And yes, you can easily use TotH+FS on Mar'Gok, movement is not an issue since you get a warning on mines coming out and ~2s arming time when they do get placed.

Thanks, Orthios, for the quick reply!

I'm going to go ahead and throw out SF whether it's paired with FS or LW and go with TotH.

I haven't had the guts to try FS on Margok, but it shouldn't be an issue with the points you discussed. Thanks for the tip!
