Fury DPS help

6 posts in this topic

Yo,

I'm having a bit of trouble with my fury spec, see I was a tank for my guild, and still do tank sometimes when one of our two bears is away, but now that I'm playing fury more often I feel like im not doing enough damage given my gear, so I thought I'd try posting here for help!

Here's my armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/wildhammer/Vespasian/simple

(Recently upgraded from the 670 and 675 2-handers to the swords from Gruul)

I follow the Icy Veins priority generally for dps, but don't use any priority addons or anything.

Here's some logs links (AMR since I don't know how to work warcraftlogs):

Kromog HC prog (and a kill! smile.png) http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/combatlog/2d96cd80-9b1c-40e1-be09-11ee82382b30/report/10#v=0,d=0

Gruul HC http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/combatlog/babe8195-3291-443e-95da-06710708b145/report/2#v=0,d=0

I feel like my damage on kromog was a bit inflated since I'm assigned to cheesing the hands with a charge+bladestorm, and for me the problem is that I think I should be doing more than 29k on Gruul, but am unsure how accurate a thought that is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Drop some of that versatility and try to get that 11% haste cap, helps improve your Bloodthirst CD. Your about on par, please DONT FORGET TO DUMP YOU RAGE! smile.png

Thanks, I'll try to do that.

When you say I'm about on par, is 29k single target really it for warriors? I thought it would be higher? Or is it one of those things that comes with better gear?

Heya fella,

I've been gone for a little bit so sorry for the late reply.

For starters I'd like to point out that if you're looking for assistance, being able to provide logs on warcraftlogs.com will go a long way as they are incredibly detailed.

Askmrrobot is fine for a quick overview but it's very limiting if you're looking to analyze it hunting for a problem.

So that said everything I post from this point on is an educated guess and could be completely wrong.

I wouldn't worry too much about your dps at this point because it seems fine at first glance.

You are currently experiencing what a lot of warriors go through :P doing less damage than other classes with the same (or worse) gear.

Warriors are stupidly gear dependent which is probably the reason why you feel you're doing mediocre damage even though you probably aren't.

The only 'problems' I see are very minor and won't amount to any noticable dps increase at all.

Most of it will come down to getting 4 pieces of tier and getting rid of that awful versatility gear.

As for things that leave room for improvement I'd say play with Dragon's Roar instead of shockwave on AoE fights (like Operator & Beastlord).

There is literally no reason to spec shockwave unless your tank whines like a little bitch if you use roar. (Which is probably what's happening :D)

Other than that try rolling with bladestorm on Flamebender. (use it as your opener and then save it for the wolves).

Also on AoE fights try playing with Glyph of Raging Wind which should give you a very very minor dps boost as well.

There's not much I can say tbh... It's mostly down to gear I feel like.

But it's wednesday so more time to get more gear and try to get some warcraftlogs.com logs going ;)

Those will allow me to go over your raid in greater detail and might help pinpoint an issue that is invisible on askmrrobot.

Thanks for your help, I shall try dropping shockwave, I'd taken it for the CC mostly, but our tanks aren't dying like they used to :). Will also look to dropping the versatility, I knew it was bad but not how bad!

Sadly I won't be raiding for a little while now, exams have me a little snowed under, I did manage to find the AMR backups and stick them on warcraft logs though, link to the most recent log below, others also visible:

I know shamans are kinda messed up right now, what else is new.
But I'm up to 900 and my already underwhelming DPS has seen no significant increase. I'm pretty sure it's tied to my low haste rating, but I'd like to make sure and see if it's just that or something else I can work to change.

I'll Sim around 760k, This week I got 630k on Krosus, going up to 900k on Skorp and Tich.
I feel like this is all far too low, one of our top dps is a warlock at i897 and often easily goes 900k and up just on single target.
I could really use some help figuring out what I've done wrong and what I could improve.

My usual priority rotation works as follows:
      >Maintain Landslide/Flametongue/Hailstorm
      >Doom winds when off CD and Stormbringer proc'd.
      >Stormstrike when proc'd
      >LavaLash when proc'd
      >Stormstrike when off CD
      >Lavalash when 90+ Maelstrom
      >Rockbiter when -90 Maelstrom
Feral Spirit-Crash Lightning combo and Doom Winds I'll sometimes delay if there's an add/burn phase, and I have a habit of refreshing Flametongue and Hailstorm on CD if I don't have any procs. I'll also occasionally mismanage Maelstrom and need to do 2-3 Rockbiters to get back up to speed.

My opener consists of: Prolonged Power>Feral Spirit>Rockbiter>Crash Lightning>Flametongue>Frostbrand>Stormstrike

So I was raiding with a rogue that was doing around 750k~ dps, i'm still learning assassination and i hover around 450-500k because I'm bad. However I noticed he was using deadly for a lot of the fights even though he was specced for agonizing. Should I be switching back and fourth?

      Hi everybody,
i got a little problem round here. My Rogue is dealin way too less dmg. In comparsion to other rogues on warcraftlogs.com im only around the 50% bracket. Just want to get better. Any advise is welcome.

      Hello y'all,
So I'll cut right to the chase. I feel like I'm under performing. Or I could be doing just fine with my current gear/stats (SimCraft may have given me unrealistic expectations).
      https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/malganis/veinsplitter
I have decent stats, draught and convergence, and my 4 piece. These are all on the lower side, so I think that would be one way to improve my DPS, but that's not what I'm here for. I ran a Sim today and it states that under ideal conditions and a perfect run, I should be doing around 900k, with an initial burst of 1.7k, and a couple peaks around a mil. I don't see these numbers, especially the peaks of 1 mil, while I run though, which leads me to my original point of me thinking I'm doing something wrong.

      https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/CygxKrJPNhfz82dB#view=rankings Heroic Guldan
One thing someone will probably point out is that I wasn't using pre-pots on either of those. That'll change in the future.

My rotation is based off of the Fury Discord guide.
      Opener - Charge/BT/BC/Rampage/Drought/RB
I'll usually then BT or Rampage based on rage, OF, and then go into a priority system of Enraged RB > BT > FS > RB
      Rampage at 100 rage.

At execute phase, my execute rotation is:
Execute/FS/BT in that order to keep myself at 100 rage for Frothing. While this is what the Fury Discord states, I tend to not get a ton of Execute damage on the boss and feel this is one area I could be doing something wrong.

On add fights, I know that I don't incorporate Whirlwind enough into my rotation, and that's something I need to be a bit mindful of. But after I burst, I tend to drop down at a steady rate. I don't usually see my DPS jump back up unless I Drought (which makes sense), but when I'm doing my standard rotation I can't keep my numbers up. Krosus should be a straight forward fight, but if you look at the logs, my dps drops to around 500k. Am I screwing something up? Or am I pulling comparable DPS to a fury warrior with 897 ilvl.
Thank you all for any help you can provide to me. I greatly appreciate it. I just want to bring honor and glory to all of my warrior brethren out there.
