brightwing is so hard, u take 4 active abilities in addition to his basic abilities which require knowledge to use properly, Q in front of enemies , polymorph the right enemy and so on.

I'll just stick to my LiLi

I think the lvl 13 talent section needs some work, since the described Blink Heal-GoH-Ice Block combo doesn't work anymore, since GoH was removed. In my opinion this makes Shield Dust the most viable choice for lvl 13. Otherwise great guide.

Aren't you overlooking harden focus's synergy with mystified? It seems like getting twice as many polymorphs, twice as many dusts (dmg prevention, move speed, healing increase) would be great, and each one of those is going to lower the cooldown on healing mist. It seems like it synergizes well with everything.

Hey Skygrin,

 

Hardened Focus is not a good talent on BW imo. Her alternative choices are simply too useful and too powerful to be neglected in my opinion. (compare pro matches - Na'Vi played a pretty sick BW during the EU RtB Championship and exclusively used Greater Poly or Bouncy Dust).

The guide has incorrect information. Hardened Focus does indeed reduce the cooldown of Soothing Mist, which in turn amplifies the effectiveness of Hyper Shift, Peekaboo, Phase Shield, and Revitalizing Mists. Brightwing's ability to Hearthstone and then teleport back into teamfights very, very frequently ensures that she rarely falls below 80% health, and doing so gives a negligible drop in team-fight damage with no other ill effects.

 

I have played over a thousand games with Brightwing and overall find this guide to be a superficial look at her capabilities. The fact that Arcane Barrage is completely discounted is hilariously short-sighted; the additional range is invaluable in many situations, often far more useful than the vision from Peekaboo.

 

This feels like a guide written by someone who played maybe a dozen or two games as Brightwing, if that, and then picked their Talent recommendations based on their frequency picked on a site such as hotslogs.

Your comment seems very biased and you also seem to be very fond of your opinion and your capabilities as a player. 

 

The input on Hardened Focus is valid and the issue will be addressed. 

 

However, saying that neglecting Arcane Barrage, whose popularity has neither been confirmed by pro players (yes, after reading this comment I asked several of them) nor the wide range of players (according to the pick rate of this talent), is short-sighted is borderline ridiculous.

 

With our guides we seek to provide solid talent builds and thought processes for a wide variety of players. To recommend a bottom tier talent like Arcane Barrage simply because - according to some unknown players out there - it has its niche utility is crazy. Then we could not be able to not recommend any talent in the game, since everyone can justify a niche pick or a special situation under which talent X "can" be good. 

 

Thank you for the input on Hardened Focus, but my apologies, the second half of you comment I cannot take seriously.

I presume you mean this because of his insane AoE damage with FlamestrikeFlamestrike and Living BombLiving Bomb countering Brightwing's AoE healing? I think depending on which Heroic bright wing takes this is very true. If she takes Blink HealBlink Heal, then she can do more single-target healing, rendering him less effective, but if she takes Emerald WindEmerald Wind he is still fairly effective against her.

I imagine the counters/syns will be updated when the new format hits Brightwing's guide. It's slowly coming out to more and more heroes, so they are getting a double update (if that makes sense?)!

@KendricSwissh On the "Phase Shift Build" what are your thoughts on swapping Peekaboo! with Manic Pixies? Personally I think the added healing would be better but I am still new to brightwing so I thought I would ask the master. Thanks in advance.

If anyone is looking for THE support counter to the December 2016 Ragnaros patch Dehaka / Diablo double warrior / gank, look no further. 

Emerald Wind almost completely nullifies Dehaka's bush flanking all on it's own, and is extremely good at ensuring Diablo's wall stun and E combo's effectiveness is crippled with her Polymorph. 

Cleanse (as you will likely end up against a Malfurion if he isn't banned in draft), spell / block protection and a shield for end game team fights is just icing on the cake.

I like your guide and for the most part I agree with it. however, I think that Peekaboo! should be downgraded to situational due to the fact that it is often useful only against stealthies and maps with high ganking potential. I also think that bouncy dust is useful against teams with multiple assasins like tychus and valla who focus on auto-attacks. please tell me what you think.

I definitely think it's a good talent, regardless of if there are stealthies or not. Those few seconds of vision that it provides can be the difference between life and death of a team member. It also allows you to properly plan a gank, since you have vision and they don't.

It's only useful if they are constantly swapping targets which is unlikely. It only lasts 4 seconds and, given that something like Tychus can single-target nuke your team, you need to be prioritising them. It's likely that bouncy will basically just do nothing most of the time, unless the enemy team are playing badly and splitting priorities.

You Sir are completely right imo, I did not played BW 1000+ games, but I have her at least on lvl 20 and I can´t imagine any ranked game (QM is a whole different story) where Arcane Barrage was useful, after all BW is a SUPPORT, which means you are there to support your Team, shield it, heal it defend it from enemies (Polymorph on Zeratul, Butcher, stun ETC´s moshpit ect ect ect) you are not there to deal high amounts of damage and or chase enemies and try to kill them with a wider range, at least in my opinion.  But I am also one of those players who almost never skill Peekaboo!. Why? Bc if anyone is brave enough to pick stealth heroes like nova, zera or valeera I either pick another hero with vision drones or I simply pay more attention to my team´s assasines (which are most of the time the focus of enemy stealth heroes) and protect them with my Polymorph, Emerald Wind, Cleanse ect. 

In that case I am one of those players who skill 95% of the time Manic Pixie.

Additionally I want to say (for everyone who is new to BW), go "full heal" / self protection and stay behind, BW is in my opinion the most difficult support in HOTS, you are slow (and no, there is not always time to port yourself to your teammate, especially not, when someone like Muradin stuns you) so butchers, valeeras, zeratuls and novas just looooove to kill you not to mention that the majority of your teammates in lower ranks is not able to protect you from a single butcher or nova, not to mention how poor you will be if you think you can start to chase a nearly dead enemy with your "Arcane Barrage" or if you think you are there to deal a high amount of damage in teamfights instead of heal. ^^  Furthermore as BW you should concentrate to use your Polymorph on the right enemies to prevent your DD´s, so in my opinion there is no need to skill Arcane Barrage over Manic Pixie. Just keep in mind you are your teams protective mom and thatßs your only job ^^

This build gives the ability to engage / disengage. I like it because it can be used offensivley and defensivley. Blink heal at level 10 and Double Wrymhole should be considered for enemy that are focusing Brightwing or if Brighwting's teamates are heavily chasing enemy.

I don't think the Pixie BoostPixie Boost is that powerful to be taken over Shield DustShield Dust, given the boost lasts for 1.5 seconds only, which is quite low, considering the cooldown of Pixie DustPixie Dust is 10 seconds.
As for Bouncy DustBouncy Dust, the talent is somewhat strong (though unreliable), but CritterizeCritterize is simply an amazing tool, allowing you to take down opponent's biggest threat quite quickly.

Great point on the duration of Shield Dust. I didn't really consider that. I do like Bouncy Dust but it is only viable if the team is grouped up. I'll consider Critterize. I have never actually used it but I can see it being great for those heroes that are trying to set some type of initation up.

The document states that Soothing Mist is on a 5-second cooldown, but it is now at 4. Similarly, Mistified reduces Soothing Mist by .5 seconds rather than 1 for each ability cast. I know I've seen several other such changes in these documents, but this time I knew for sure what was wrong.

An update for Brightwing guide is long due, and we apologize for providing outdated information. Until it is updated, I recommend using Srey's build instead. Thank you for your patience, and for pointing these issues out!

Hey guys, just noticed that Brightwing's guide says it is countered by Greymane and Greymane's guide says he's countered by Brightwing. I can totally understand this but was hoping for some comments about this. Can you guys explain the reasoning? Thanks in advance.

I asked Oxy and Kendric for an explanation - Greymane counters Brightwing as a support because Brightwing lacks burst heal to restore the health of his teammates after a Greymane's burst combo. Greymane is countered by Brightwing's disengage tools, forcing him to switch lanes if he wants to play aggressively. So, a more skilled Greymane counters Brightwing and vice-versa.

Level 13 Kawarimi Fixed an issue that caused Mirror Images created by Kawarimi to not have the correct starting health while affected by Blessing of the Red. Level 16 Harsh Winds Fixed an issue that caused Harsh Winds to not apply to Burning Blade damage dealt by Samuro. Sgt. Hammer Base Concussive Blast [W] Targets are now knocked away a point 2 range behind where Concussive Blast was fired, instead of Sgt. Hammer's position. Targets will now move in the direction where Concussive Blast was fired. Stitches Base Hook [Q] Now shows progress to Extended Hook as Stitches levels up. Stukov Level 10 Flailing Swipe Fixed an issue that caused Flailing Swipe to not knock all targets back an equal distance. The Butcher Base Ruthless Onslaught [E] Fixed an issue that caused Ruthless Onslaught to not interrupt in certain situations.       Ten years ago, the Nexus opened a realm between realms…where anything is possible. Over the years, you have braved this tumultuous universe, commanding some of the most legendary Heroes from across Azeroth, Sanctuary, the Koprulu sector, and future Earth. 

      It’s this community that has made Heroes of the Storm so special, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone alongside you. From now until the next patch on June 15, all Heroes will be free! Plus, everyone who logs in during this time will receive two brand-new portraits to showcase their time battling across the Nexus.       We’re also excited to release a never-before-seen skin into the shop! In honor of Heroes of the Storm’s 10th anniversary, as well as Warcraft’s 30th, what better Hero skin to release from the vault than the one and only Thrall? Gear Head Thrall is now available through the in-game shop for 1500 Gems. And keep your eyes peeled—the Classic Games team is combing through the archives, searching for unreleased skins that would need some finishing touches for release, possibly bringing us more in the future.
