Patch 2.3.0 and Season 4 of Diablo 3 are coming soon, and Blizzard has published a guide to the new content and features players can expect to be enjoying when they arrive! Blizzard also announced that Heroes of the Storm players will want to participate in Season 4 to unlock the Malthael's Phantom mount.

Here are the particulars for Season 4:

Blizzard Icon First Look - Season 4

Patch 2.3.0 is headed your way soon, loaded with cool new features for Diablo III. Among all the excitement over what’s ahead for the game, we’ve seen many players ask important questions about what they should expect in Season 4, which we’ll be addressing in the following guide.

As before, those who play in Season 4 will have access to Season-exclusive Legendary items, cosmetic rewards and transmogrification effects. We’ll highlight these below, plus the GLOOOORIOUS new Season Journey interface. Ready or not, it’s time to see what’s in store for you in Season 4!

Your journey through Sanctuary is unique, nephalem. In order to better celebrate your accomplishments, as well as guide newcomers through Sanctuary and help players compare their progress from one Season to the next, we’ve added the Season Journey.

This helpful tool is easily found on the main menu screen in Patch 2.3.0 when a Seasonal hero is selected, and helps you track and plan your Season progress easily. Upon opening the interface, you’ll find the game’s challenges categorized into Chapters and Tiers separated by degrees of difficulty.

Chapters include challenges designed to be within reach of most players, and should you finish all of them in Season 4, you’ll be awarded a brand new cosmetic pet and portrait. Meanwhile, Tiers represent a true test of your mettle, and grant you exclusive portrait frames upon completion, perfect for showcasing your Seasonal accomplishments.

New Legendary Items

Season 4 also brings exciting new Season-exclusive Legendary items for you to enjoy. These include the Legendary Gem, Bane of the Stricken, along with class-specific items like Dishonored Legacy and Sacred Harness. We won’t spoil the surprise of finding them all, but we’ve included a few of these below, including the purr-fectly crafted new Witch Doctor mojo—Henri’s Perquisition.

New Conquests and Achievements

Conquests have returned in Season 4, and include a mix of challenges both updated and new. Among these are On A Good Day / I Can’t Stop and Boss Mode / Worlds Apart, both of which now reflect the brand-new Torment X difficulty. We’ve also upped the ante on Divinity / Lionhearted, which are achieved when you reach solo Greater Rift 60. Finally, for the true theorycrafters among you, we’ve added the intriguing new challenge The Thrill / Superhuman, which requires you to reach Greater Rift 40 without benefiting from Class Set item bonuses. As with Conquests in past Seasons, you’ll be able to see how well you completed these epic feats compared with other players on the Leaderboards.

If you’ve somehow managed to chew through these and find yourself hungry for even more challenges, we’ve also added several Achievements requiring you to complete certain objectives when facing bosses. Can you kill The Savage Behemoth and The Undying One within 5 seconds of each other in the Realm of Turmoil? Now, you’ll be able to prove it!

New Cosmetic Rewards

For those who missed out on the Conqueror’s transmogrification set from past Seasons, you’ll have a shot at obtaining a few pieces once more. The head and shoulder parts from this set will be available in Season 4 to those who reach level 70 with at least one Seasonal hero.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When does Season 4 start?

A: Season 4 begins August 28 at 5 p.m. PDT in North America, 5 p.m. CEST in Europe, and 5 p.m. KST in Asia.

Q: How long will Season 4 last?

A:  While we don’t have a specific timeframe to share for Season 4, we anticipate that it will be at least three months long.

Q: When are the Leaderboards being wiped for Season 3?

A: Leaderboards will be cleared once the Season comes to a close. Though the leaderboards are eventually cleared, they will be preserved both in-game and here on our website if you wish to review your Season 3 accomplishments.

Q: When are the non-Seasonal Leaderboards being wiped?

A: Non-Seasonal Leaderboards are tied to what we call “Eras.” We currently anticipate the next wipe to coincide with the transition to Season 4, although this may not be the case for future Seasons.

Q: Will Seasons be coming to console?

A: Some features on console are best designed for that platform, and the same is true for the PC version of the game. A large part of the fun of Seasons is the entire community rerolling heroes together at the same time. Because the offline and disconnected nature of console does not support this style of play, we do not currently have plans to implement Seasons on console.

Are You Ready?

There’s so much to look forward to in Season 4, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve. With brand new Set items and Kanai’s Cube to shake up the game, this may be our best Season yet!

Have you already picked the build you’ll be using in Season 4, or are you planning to see what you can achieve using an old favorite? How far will you go in your Season Journey, and how much power will you wield by the time the Season ends? Share your plans below—and best of luck in the new Season!

So it seems we'll be seeing some changes to the somewhat controversial seasonal power for S21, as community manager FilthieRich said the team was tracking user comments and feedback on the topic and they'd have some updates to share soon.
The change we're most likely to see and that the post is probably referring to is the fact that some players find the power distracting and not impactful enough, especially on the topic of it messing up your set dungeons clears, so we're likely to see some sort of toggle to disable it. Alternatively there might be a bigger revamp coming, perhaps tuning ot changing the way the amount of mobs killed before each proc affect the damage, but we're only speculating at this point.

Chiming in to share that we have been reading into comments and feedback related to the Seasonal Theme. Working with the dev team now to prep for some updates to share w/ you. In the meantime, thanks a TON for all the patience. Ill y’all updated.

It's time for another sale, this time for Diablo 3! Both the base game and Reaper of Souls are 50% off, with the Neco pack 33% off, so you can get whichever one you're missing, or go for the Eternal Collection which is 26% off instead! With the new season just having started, and Diablo 4 being quite a long way off, there's still time to enjoy D3 and all its features.

Season 21 is live for more than 48 hours, and the community reacts to the Seasonal buff that makes your character periodically channel an elemental power that unleashes into the environment.
If you haven't had the chance to catch up with the latest news, Season 21 just started and with it came a new Seasonal power that makes your character do all sorts of stuff like breath lightning, rain meteors from the skies around you, release twisters of energy, and more.
      (Source)
The elements have deemed you worthy. With you as their champion, the burning hells will face the Trials of Tempests! Your character will occasionally (every 90 seconds) channel an elemental power which unleashes into the environment for a limited time: Meteors rain from the skies around you. Breathe lightning. A wall of flame engulfs everything. Release twisters of pure energy. Crush your foes under the weight of rolling snowballs. The community perception of the latest Season 12 buff is all but positive. A Reddit thread titled "How did this seasonal effect make it past PTR?" has surfaced and accumulated more than 300 upvotes and we are highlighting the biggest concerns player have with the new Season theme:
Apparently, the graphic effects make it nearly impossible to see what's going on, making it extremely frustrating for Hardcore players. If you fight Orlash and get the breath, it is difficult to determine where to stand. Card
The sound that comes with it is obnoxious and distracts from gameplay and it cannot be turned off, Redditor stealth_elephant says. The third main concern is power. Many Redditors claim that it is good enough for ending massacres, but mediocre when it comes to killing enemies. Card
On the other side of the spectrum, Wudi provides enough perspective on both ends. He discovered that it is much easier to kill Rift Guardians now with the Season 21 buff in a group where you get 10,000 stack to virtually one-shot it.
What has your experience been with the Season 21 buff so far?

It seems Blizzard forgot to turn on the Season 21 buff on consoles and Leaderboards are showing Season 19 clears.
Community Manager PezRadar confirmed this to be a bug that they are currently looking into. It affects Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch.
      (Source)
Did Blizzard forgot to turn on the buff on the Xbox???
Looking into this! Thanks for the reports.
A fix for Leaderboards that are showing old Season 19 clears is coming no sooner than Monday.
      (Source)
In addition to the season buff issues (I see already reported) - the leaderboards on switch are showing the s19 clears instead of current season.
Hi all - We need some engineers who will be available on Monday to really dig into this. This seems to be affecting all consoles. Will get on this first thing Monday. Sorry about the inconvenience on this.

Season 21 starts today!  It's going to be quite a season, especially for Demon Hunters. We've already taken a look at the top builds for solo pushing, speedfarming and group compositions, as well as the meta-breaking new 3x DH-based XP farm setup which dethroned Rat runs, so now its time to head for the full guides themselves, and we have them ready for all classes!

The Support build still reigns supreme, as it retains it's place in the new XP farm meta, and the rest of the rankings haven't changed since the last season, as Barbarians didn't get many changes.
Support Barbarian (Raekor + HotNS + Istvan) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variant Rend Barbarian (WotW + Istvan) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Seismic Slam Barbarian (MotE + Endless Walk) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Frenzy Barbarian (HotNS + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Hammer of the Ancients Raekor Barbarian (Raekor + Endless Walk + Istvan) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Hammer of the Ancients IK Barbarian (IK + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Furious Charge Barbarian (IK + Raekor) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Leap/Earthquake Barbarian (MotE + Bastions) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Hammer of the Ancients GR Barbarian (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (Mid Tier) Whirlwind Wastes Barbarian (WotW + Bul-kathos) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Frenzy Thorns Barbarian (LoN) Speed Farming Variation

Crusaders also didn't get a big shift in rankings, as the seasonal power doesn't really affect the individual builds.
Heaven's Fury Crusader (Aegis of Valor) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Blessed Shield Crusader (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (Top Tier) Thorns Crusader (Invoker + Endless Walk) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Condemn LoD Crusader (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (High Tier) Condemn Akkhan Crusader (Akkhan + Bastions) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Hammerdin Crusader (SoL + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Sweep Attack Crusader (Roland + Endless Walk) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Fist of the Heavens Crusader (Aegis of Valor) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Bombardment Crusader (LoN) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Shield Bash Crusader (Roland + Bastions) Speed Farming Variation

Season 21 is very much the season of the Demon Hunter, as their new Gears of Dreadlands set brought them 2 top tier builds, both for solo pushing and XP farming.
Support Demon Hunter (GoD + Marauder) (Top Tier) (New) Hungering Arrow Demon Hunter (GoD + Bastions) (Top Tier) (New) Bolas Variation Rapid Fire Demon Hunter (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (Top Tier) Rapid Fire Natalya Demon Hunter (Natalya + Endless Walk) (Top Tier) Impale Demon Hunter (Shadow + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Group Progression Variation Sentry Demon Hunter (Marauder + Natalya + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Multishot Demon Hunter (Unhallowed + Bastions) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Cluster Arrow Demon Hunter  (Marauder + Bastions) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Rockets-based Progression Variation Grenades Demon Hunter (Unhallowed + Endless Walk) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Rain of Vengeance Demon Hunter (Natalya + Bastions) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Fan of Knives LoD Demon Hunter (Legacy of Dreams Gem) Chakram Demon Hunter (Unhallowed + Bastions) Speed Farming Variation

Monk support is still on top as the class build rankings stay the same as last season.
Support Monk (Inna + Born's Command + Captain Crimson) (Top Tier) Tempest Rush Sunwuko Monk (Monkey King + Captain Crimson) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Tempest Rush Patterns Monk (Patterns of Justice + Captain Crimson) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Wave of Light LoD Monk (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (Top Tier) Wave of Light Monk (Monkey King + Captain Crimson) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Inna Variation Generator Monk (Rainment + Endless Walk + Captain Crimson + Shenlong) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Inna Variation Seven-Sided Strike Monk (Uliana + Captain Crimson + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Lashing Tail Kick LoD Monk (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (Mid Tier) Lashing Tail Kick Monk (Monkey King) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Exploding Palm Monk (Inna + Endless Walk) Speed Farming Variation Mystic Ally Pets Variation

The Necromancer may have gotten the shorter end of the new set stick, but they did get plenty of new toys to play with, resulting in a new build at the top of the list and two more top tier ones, with a whole lot of LoD!
Corpse Explosion LoD Necromancer  (LoD) (Top Tier) (New) Key Farming Variation Support Necromancer (Pestilence + Captain Crimson) (Top Tier) Poison Scythe LoD Necromancer (LoD) (Top Tier) (New) Trash Killer Variation Corpse Lance LoD Necromancer (LoD) (Top Tier) Skeletal Mage Singularity/Archers LoD Necromancer (LoD) (Top Tier) (New) Speed Farming Variation Key Farming Variation Corpse Lance Necromancer (Pestilence + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Trag'Oul Variation Group Progression Variation Skeletons Thorns Solo LoD Necromancer (LoD) (High Tier) Generator Necromancer (Inarius) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Skeletal Mages Rathma Necromancer (Rathma + Jesseth) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Group Speed GR Variation Skeletal Mages Trag'Oul Necromancer (Trag'Oul + Jesseth) (Mid Tier) Solo Progression Variation Blood Nova LoD Necromancer (LoD) (Mid Tier)

The WD's new set from a while ago has crept up the rankings and landed on top, edging out the ever popular Poison Dart build.
Spirit Barrage Witch Doctor (Mundunugu + Endless Walk) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Carnevil Poison Dart Witch Doctor (Zunimasa + Aughild's Authority + Endless Walk) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Carnevil Poison Dart Dagger of Darts Witch Doctor (LoD) (Top Tier) Soul Harvest Witch Doctor (Jade Harvester) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Spirit Barrage Witch Doctor (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Group Progression Variation Firebats Witch Doctor (Arachyr + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Group Progression Variation Gargantuan Zunimasa Witch Doctor (Zunimasa + Endless Walk) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Gargantuan Helltooth Witch Doctor (Helltooth + Endless Walk) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Zombie Bears Witch Doctor (Helltooth + Endless Walk) Speed Farming Variation Acid Cloud Witch Doctor (Helltooth + Bastions) Speed Farming Variation Grasp of the Dead Witch Doctor (Helltooth + Endless Walk)

Wizards retain their rankings from last season, with the ubiquitous Archon remaining on top.
Archon Wizard (Vyr + Chantodo) (Top Tier) Speed Farming Variation Mammoth Hydra Wizard (Legacy of Dreams Gem) (Top Tier) Frost Hydra Wizard (Typhon's Veil) (High Tier) Meteor Wizard (Firebird + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Speed Farming Variation Tal Rasha Variation Star Pact Variation Frozen Orb Wizard (Delsere + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Energy Twister Wizard (Delsere + Endless Walk) (High Tier) Manald Lightning Archon Wizard (Tal Rasha + Vyr) (Mid Tier) Group Progression Variation Solo Progression Variation Archon Wizard (Firebird + Chantodo + Endless Walk) (Mid Tier) Speed Farming Variation Arcane Torrent Manald Wizard (Tal Rasha + Endless Walk) (Mid Tier) Electrocute Variation Spectral Blade Variation Arcane Orbit Wizard (Delsere + Endless Walk) Speed Farming Variation Explosive Blast Farming Wizard (Tal Rasha + Sage) Greater Rifting Variation
Those are all the class guides we have, the season start in a matter of hours and we hope you have a great time!
