Aflliction, loosing int for mastery

Recommended Posts

Hello evreyone I have a little "problem" that i would know your opinion on

I've been playing around with my Affli warlocks gear and got the following setups (only buff is dark intent)

set1 (689): INT         4719

                  Mastery  1337

                  Haste:     1924

set2(688): INT:          4356

                 Mastery:   2119

                 Haste:       1965

now I am asking myself is it worth losing the 363 INT

to gain 782 Mastery and 41 haste?

and what setup will assure the most DPS?

I mostly play specced Supremacy and Demonic Servitude and Terrorguard as Demon

my armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/die-silberne-hand/Carbaryl/simple

thank you guys for helping/pointing out mistakes

Stats make up a VERY small amount of your DPS. Keep that in mind at all times, changing your stats even 1000+ in any direction won't make this massive change in your over all. Game play and knowing fights make up 80% of your damage.

That said,

Int is valued at 1.00 and Mastery at 0.80.

782 * 0.88 = 688

363 * 1.00 = 363

So 688 Vs. 363. The mastery set wins.

I had to create an account to reply on this thread since I am confused by it and the answer it has been given :D

So you only mentioned mastery and haste values but didn't put your other secondary stats. And since you are losing so much mastery on your first set then it must mean you are gaining on other stats(multi, vers, crit).

Now I know other stats are worse than haste and mastery but they still matter a lot. Since I don't have the information on your other secondary stats I am going to assume 0.67 stat weight for the average of multi,crit and vers.

4084(Set2 haste+mastery) - 3261(Set1 haste+mastery) = 823 in Set1 for other stats

Set1:

4719 int = 4719 * 1.00 = 4719

1337 mas = 1337 * 0.88 = 1177

1924 haste = 1924 * 0.96 = 1847

823 other stats = 823 * 0.67 = 551

Total = 4719+1177+1847+551 = 8294

Set2:

4356 int = 4356 * 1.00 = 4356

2119 mast = 2119 * 0.88 = 1865

1965 haste = 1965 * 0.96 = 1886

total = 4356+1865+1886 = 8107

As you see there is 187 intellect worth of stats between Set1 and Set2. If you are changing your weapons between these two sets than Spell power must be included in the calculation too. Finally Set1 has 1 more ilvl than Set2 which means it has even more secondary stats than I used in my calculations.
