WoW: Warlords of Draenor Digital Deluxe Items Available To Purchase

After surprisingly retiring the Digital Deluxe version of Warlords of Draenor without giving any notice, Blizzard has decided to offer the items exclusive to the Deluxe edition in a special Bundle until the pre-patch for Legion goes live.

Blizzard Icon Blizzard Entertainment

While the Digital Deluxe edition of Warlords of Draenor is no longer available (blame the Burning Legion), we know some WoD players might still be interested in snagging the digital items that came with it—including the Dread Raven mount and Dread Hatchling pet. Well, here’s another chance: we’ve created a special bundle that includes all of the Digital Deluxe bonus items, which you can purchase now for a limited time.

These Warlords of Draenor–themed extras for WoW, Diablo III, Hearthstone, and StarCraft II will be available for purchase until the pre-patch for the upcoming Legion expansion—after which point they’ll be sealed away into the vault. Please note that in order to purchase, you’ll need an active WoW subscription and a Warlords of Draenor standard edition or higher license on your account. Once purchased, these digital items will apply to all World of Warcraft accounts on your Battle.net account.

Visit the Battle.net Shop to buy or find out more about what’s included!

This announcement caused a dichotomy in the playerbase yet again. Some players had initially complained about the fact that there was no communication from Blizzard's part when they retired the Digital Deluxe edition of Warlords of Draenor. Blizzard proceeded to satisfy these complaints by announcing the aforementioned offer. On the other hand, after this announcement, some holders of the Deluxe edition questioned what is the point of buying limited edition versions of the game, if the exclusive items are available to purchase after said Deluxe edition is retired. They also wondered whether this incident will be repeated with following expansions, but a CM in the European forums hinted that this is a one-time thing only.

@Kuolevavelho: This option was added because the Digital Deluxe version of Warlords of Draenor was retired suddenly, and with no communication on our part. We realised this inconvenienced and upset a lot of players and there were many requests from players who still wanted to purchase the Digital Deluxe.

It was a mistake on our part to remove the option to purchase Warlords of Draenor Digital Deluxe with no prior warning. This is our way of rectifying that mistake. Once the Legion pre-patch is launched, this offer will no longer be available.

It seems that the community is quite eager to jump into arguments and take sides this week; we already reported all the controversies created by the banwave on botters and by an incident involving a multiboxer. We would advise everyone to relax and enjoy the festivities!

We're getting some Horrific Visions difficulty tuning this week, as Leaden Foot and Split Personality get nerfed, with slow effect caps and shorter durations for the clones and disorient effects! The hotfix will be applied with each region's resets and it should make some of the Visions less frustrating to deal with.

With the weekly reset in each region, we’re going to do some difficulty tuning in Horrific Visions. We agree with player feedback that a couple of the challenging effects can be a bit too punishing. Going forward:
The Leaden Foot slow effect is now capped at 50% of movement speed (was 90%). Split Personality clones are now spawned for 5 seconds (was 6 seconds), and its disorient effect now lasts 2 seconds (was 4 seconds). We’ll have these listed in our next hotfixes update.

Blizzard renamed the Human Racial Every Man for Himself to Will to Survive in Shadowlands.
The subtle name change was spotted by MrGM, who posted it on Reddit. At this time, we do not know if it has anything to do with gender, but it is worth noting that Blizzard recently posted an update on Pelagos' Pronouns on the Alpha and Shadows Rising made one of the most fan-requested pairings reality.
"Every Man For Himself" does sound somewhat cowardly as pointed out by Reddit user audioshaman, so maybe the change was just made to give Humans a more positive racial name.

Game Director Ion Hazzikostas recently talked to Bellular about why Conduits get consumed when replaced. Still, it turns out the community wants the direct opposite, and the same goes for the Covenants system.
      Conduits
Yesterday, we brought you a summary of Bellular's interview with Ion. The main topic was the destructibility of Conduits.
Conduits operate like gems, so the original Conduit you want to replace will be consumed/destroyed in the process. Conduits come from dungeons, bosses, and vendors, so it is not a fortunate decision having to refarm them if you ever decide to replace them. Ion argumented in the interview that the WoW developer team does not want you to change Conduits on every single boss pull, and that's why they made them destructible.
"Having to carry around a physical inventory of Conduits that need to be micro-managed and constantly swapped in and out is the opposite of fun," he added.
He also said that Conduits in their current state offered more flexibility than Legion Relics.
It turns out, however, that the community wants the direct opposite. Redditor Vandar started a thread that accrued 1.5K upvotes in just one day, where he suggests that Conduits should be obtained and managed like Essences, suggesting they should be swappable in a specific zone and not take up valuable inventory space.

Zack (Asmongold) also suggested that Conduits should become craftable so that you don't have to refarm them if they get consumed.
      Placeholder for tweet 1282366987025424385 Covenants
Another growing concern are Covenants and Covenant Abilities, mainly their balance. In Shadowlands, we have many systems layered on top of each other. There are Anima Powers that work in Torghast, Legendary Powers (Legion Legendaries 2.0), Soulbinds, Conduits, and Covenant Abilities, so it is natural for players to feel concerned given that Blizzard said it would be hard to regain the trust of a Covenant if you decide to pursue a different one only to switch back later.
Now imagine what will happen if Covenant Abilities end up unbalanced, and some of them will get buffed while other abilities get nerfed to the ground. The player will automatically pursue what is best for them in the ideal scenario, which might involve abandoning and returning to the same Covenant.
The thing is that Covenants are not just about abilities. They have their themes, hubs to unlock, Soulbinds, rewards, and depth, so at the end of the day, the player will be forced to give all this away in favor of their Covenant ability and never be happy with their choice because they want to pick the best one for raiding.
Preach also voiced his concerns about the Covenant system in his latest video.
A practical and straightforward solution suggested by Redditor Corgibox is to detach Covenant Abilities from the Covenants and add them as a separate talent row, but with no level requirement, as Blizzard wants you to use Covenant Abilities straight as you jump into the new content, and not at max level.

Official forum user Retributor recently posted his (and the EU forum's) concerns about no developers actually interacting directly with the EU player base, which prompted a response from blue Rejuvithorn, with a pretty detailed explanation of the situation. As you know if you've been following our tracking of blue posts at all, all of the news comes from the US side of the blue posts, which obviously makes a lot of sense as well, as Blizzard are a US company.
The explanationgives a pretty good overview of why the situation is as it is, but the responses to it in the thread have been less than enthusiastic, as you'd expect.
      EU Blue Responses (source)
Do devs care about EU game playerbase? Can someone please give them a hint that we exist too?
I get where you’re coming from and totally appreciate the feelings that you’ve expressed here Retributor.
Anything the developers say is picked over with a fine tooth comb. One wrong word and suddenly something a dev said was “considered” can end up all over the internet as “confirmed by Blizzard next patch!” even if that’s not what they said at all. One poorly worded joke made in good faith can provoke a backlash that becomes a meme for years. Even the simplest response can take a lot of time to get right, especially when it’s not the author’s expertise. Posting can take even longer if the information needs to be approved for release and translated to other languages. While you and I are not developers, imagine how daunting, and scary, it could be to make even a casual interaction when your voice might carry so far and have implications not only for yourself, but the fans, and colleagues throughout the company.
So there’s risk of causing the wrong kind of storm, and there’s time. Time, that they’re spending full tilt into making and improving the game. There’s also something I’ve mentioned before. Any member of staff commenting on feedback instantly makes that idea “about the blue” and can detract from the OP’s feeling or message. The thread may get flooded with people who want to join in, or who click on through from one of the various blue trackers, but actually don’t care about the size of an orcs ears (or whatever the suggestion was) vastly skewing what the real community sentiment is on a subject. It’s often better to let a community discussion play out, and observe, to gain a more accurate perspective.
So does that mean your voice isn’t heard? No, not at all. Even if they may not post often, the developers can read the forums. In addition, various roles make lots of reports of what’s being said here and other places, as well as a large number of other activities and avenues that all play their part to convey the pulse of the playerbase and ensure you’re listened to.
Now, I can’t speak for the devs, but I do know that from all the interactions I’ve had with them, they care. The care a heck of a lot about the game and you, our amazing fans. Truly.
I hope this at least provides a little insight and helps put your mind to rest a little.

While we’re on the subject, if you haven’t already seen it, check out the recent developer update below

All classes now cast spells if you create a new character on the Alpha. The new animations are supposed to showcase how the individual classes look while in combat, and the new feature is especially useful for new players.
Blizzard continues to improve the character creation screen with each build visually. Recently, they made all classes wear different sets and added poses. In the latest Alpha build, they added new animations for all classes, and you check them out below!
