Speedfarming Barbarian Furious Charge

Recommended Posts

Tried this out today.  Am I doing something horribly wrong?  My character is extremely fragile.  On my second T10 rift, I got one- or two-shotted by elites so many times my equipment broke, and I was only half way through the rift.  Granted, I'm not very good at playing this build yet.  And the equipment on my follower sucks so he's not healing me much yet.  But still...

I did make sure I have the Together as One rune selected.  I'm running rubies instead of diamonds, which I can change.  But the way you make it sound, nothing in a T10 rift is a serious threat, and I'm dying *constantly*.  Sometimes I die so fast I don't even know what hit me. huh.png

It might be a lack of proper gear, the guide does assume you have farmed the character out. You can definitely swap jewelry and gems around a bit for more toughness, try Band of Might and a few Diamonds in the armor sockets.

I don't understand why f/r is the rings to choose. We only proc half of the f/r combo, so why not Coe and band of night as the best choice? It seems blatantly obvious as the best setup.

Furious Charge and Ancient Spear fulfill the generator and spender requirements for Focus and Restraint, so you're getting the whole proc.

Quite correct. To add to that, Band of Might is considered too safe of an option in high end Softcore leaderboard pushes, where people prefer glass cannon and fishing for optimal rifts. I can only recommend Band of Might in hardcore, or if you are not trying for competitive ladder.

I think BoW is overkill for TX. The build doesn't have any problems dealing damage, it's getting one-shotted by a bad affix. Swapping out the rings for a Band of Might and Avarice Band have actually improved my average clear time, even though I was only dying once every third rift or so. I don't have to be anywhere near as careful about placement and I don't have to loop around to pick up gold to fuel my speed procs.

Sorry, what's "BoW"?  And did you mean changing the rings improved your average clear time, rather than "increased" it?

I also found myself dying very frequently and was pretty frustrated and unimpressed with the build, at least for us old, slow-witted players who may not have millisecond-scale reflexes, or sometimes even second-scale.

As suggested in this thread, I swapped out my Focus/Restraint for Ring of Might and Unity, and found I had become completely invincible and wasn't killing stuff perceptibly slower. I didn't miss the damage at all. After that, the build seems sweet and I appreciate it.

Ah, right.  I knew BoW was familiar, but I get so used to saying F&R that I forgot the real name.  Thanks.  When I get back around to playing with this build, I'm going to try this.

Since Boon of the hoarder is useless in a Greater Rift, what would be the best alternative gem to use?

Taeguk ?

Heya, in GRs I would suggest you use this variation of the build:

https://www.icy-veins.com/d3/barbarian-furious-charge-physical-build-with-the-legacy-of-raekor-and-immortal-king-patch-2-4

It was created with GRs in mind! :)

For people having issues with fragility, having mostly ancient gear made a HUGE difference.  Currently progressing through mid 50's GRifts without the GRift mod because I'm too lazy to swap gems between rift types.  Plus, also helps if you have target ADD.  This is not a tanker, don't stand there and spank at things and expect to be ok.

This message is being mass-posted over the Diablo threads currently open for feedback on the site:

I will be reviewing all missed/non-answered comments and answering them, as well as passing on any information. I will also be archiving any older threads that are no longer relevant to our current displayed guides.

Threads that are staying will be renamed to better fit the guide they are actually being used as a feedback section for, since some names are heavily outdated.

Please bear with me while I work my way through all the threads. Thanks for your patience!

Starting on June 6 at 5 p.m. PDT/CEST/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Eternal Conflict theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 34 will officially come to an end on June 1.
      Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Season Theme
Season 35 is the Season of Eternal Conflict and with it come an awesome array of killstreak rewards! Inspired by the war waged between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, you‘ll earn increasingly powerful effects as you unleash destruction upon your foes. So rack up those kills and clear the battlefields in the name of Sanctuary!
All players will benefit from the Pandemonium bonus during Season 35. For each stack of this buff, you’ll receive a small boost to movement speed and bonus damage, ultimately capping out at 50% movement speed and 100% damage at 1000 stacks. In addition, reaching certain killstreak goals will trigger a special effect and cause even more mayhem on the battlefield:
15 Kills: Exploding Chickens seek and destroy 30 Kills: A wide Frost Nova freezes enemies 50 Kills: Corpses rain from the sky 100 Kills: Five massive Energy Twisters are unleashed 150 Kills: Dark Geysers form beneath enemies 200 Kills: Treasure chests fall from the sky 300 Kills: A ring of fire engulfs everything 400 Kills: Meteors hail from above 500 Kills: Angels descend upon the battlefield to fight for your cause 1000 Kills: ????? This Season, we’re taking action on the great feedback we received from the community about Season 35’s Triune buff. With the killstreak mechanic, we can make sure the benefit is always traveling with you and something you won’t have to constantly reposition for. There’s still more room for exploration and innovation in the future, and in the meantime, we challenge you to push these killstreaks to their limits and discover its ultimate reward! We think you’ll find it devilishly delightful.

      Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began reintroducing previous rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 35, this means awards originally available from Season 11 are returning. Pet collectors will be pleased to see the return of the Emerald Dragon. . .and, in addition to the Pant and Boot slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, the Treasure Goblins portraits will be available.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth by completing the Season 35 journey to earn the Lacuni Cub pet and the Chopping Block portrait.

Speed Demon and Need for Speed will serve your purposes. Want to go fast while killing big things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets will also be returning.

      Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
