heroes Liquid's Heroes of the Storm Team to Continue Without The Durán Brothers

1 post in this topic

The two brothers and founding members of Liquid's Heroes of the Storm team have decided to move on for different reasons.

The Spanish duo was an essential part of Team Liquid's Heroes of the Storm squad. The brothers were the founding members of the team back in March 2015. For their first 9 months, the team enjoyed some huge successes, as they won first place in eight tournaments. However, they failed to qualify for the 2015 World Championship. After that, the team was rebuilt with the Durán brothers retaining their spot in it. The team's latest success was placing second at the DreamHack All-Stars 2015 Winter Clash.

In Team Liquid's official announcement, it was revealed that Juan Moreno "Vortix" Durán will remain in Liquid, but he will move on to Starcraft. His brother, Pedro Moreno "Lucifron" Durán, will be abandoning the esports scene for now, as he wishes to finish his Bachelor degree.

Both players had some criticism for Heroes of the Storm. Vortix said that: "the game is too team-dependent and the individual skill cap is too low", while the brothers also agreed that Hero League and MMR are quite frustrating at the moment.

As far as their Heroes of the Storm team is concerned, Liquid said that they are making decisions and trying out a couple of new players for now. It is sure, though, that losing the Durán brothers is a big hit for them.
