With the first round finished, the tournament moved to the lower bracket of elimination-style matches. The losers of each match were placed into the lower bracket to play each other for a spot in the finals. The first match in the lower bracket was We Win Next (WWN) going up against Trolljägarn (TJ). TJ ended up taking the series 3-1 and the matches can be found at 03:07:25 in the VOD. The matches played out as follows:

  • TJ (LSD) vs. WWN (RMP) on Nagrand Arena: TJ wins
  • TJ (LSD) vs. WWN (RMP) on Tiger's Peak: WWN wins
  • TJ (LSD) vs. WWN (RMP) on Ruins of Lordaeron: TJ wins
  • TJ (LSD) vs. WWN (RMP) on Dalaran Sewers: TJ wins

The next match in the lower bracket was between Kenitra Tigers (KT) and Another One (AO). The games can be found at 03:47:00 in the VOD. The series ended up finishing early due to some technical issues on the side of AO. They forfeited at 2-0 in favour of KT.

  • KT (RMD) vs. AO (Walking Dead) on Nagrand Arena: KT wins by forfeit
  • KT (RMD) vs. AO (Walking Dead) on Ruins of Lordaeron: KT wins by forfeit

Upper Bracket

Moving back up to the upper bracket, the next match was Speechless vs. Reawakened (RA). This can be found at 04:00:00 in the VOD. The series ended up finishing 3-0 in favour of Speechless, but there has been some controversy surrounding potential connection issues for RA. There was problems throughout the matches for Minpojke, which are supposedly caused by DDOSing. The source is unknown for sure, but it has been confirmed by numerous people that it was a targeted attack on Minpojke.

It's very easy to see that there were issues in the games and it's also fairly clear that these issues always seemed to happen at critical times. It's claimed that the problems were caused by an individual targeting him through Skype, there were alternatives presented by the GCD team, as well as other programs that could have been used.

Speechless ended up getting a clear ride through the first 2 matches due to DCs, which RA won by default. The third game was a much more intense match which played out as follows:
  • Speechless (Turbo) vs. RA (RMD) on Tiger's Peak: Speechless wins

The upper bracket matches continued with the series between The Yacht Boys (TYB) and No Ladder Players (NLP), which can be found at 04:33:00 on the VOD. The series ended 3-1 in favour of TYB. The matches went down as follows:

  • TYB (Shatterplay with Holy Paladin) vs. NLP (Walking Dead) on Blade's Edge Arena: NLP wins

Uldir Mythic WF Race Day 2: Fetid Devourer Endboss - EU guilds catch up but no one can get past the 5th boss, Fetid Devourer and 8 guilds are stuck at 4/8.  Uldir Mythic WF Race Day 1: 4 Bosses Down - Big Dumb Guild and Limit get 4 bosses down before EU servers come up, Blizzard nerfs Fetid Devourer and we get to see three WF kill videos. ____________________________________________________________________
The gates of Mythic Uldir have opened and the US and OC servers are coming up after maintenance. Now it remains to be seen who will go in early and grab those World Firsts before the EU an Asian guilds have had a chance to enter the first raid of Battle for Azeroth. As always, we'll have summary posts for each day early in the EU morning.
Of the possible contenders on the US/OC scene we have Wildcard Gaming, formerly Easy, who have already taken a WF in Heroic, with their G'huun kill, and seem eager to get their new name heard, so they might just be the leading US guild. On the other hand, Limit has been a dominant presence in the US/OC scene for a long time now, grabbing most WFs and being the only real competition to the EU and Asian guilds in the endgame. We also have SNF and Big Dumb Guild who have gotten some World Firsts in the past, and have been known to raid early, so the competition for those first few kills should be high. Blood Legion also seem to have returned after a long hiatus, as they will be raiding "semi-competitively" in BfA, but it remains to be seen what exactly that means.
As always, we'll be using Method's raid progress coverage for our own summaries and you can head on over to their site to follow the race live, both today with the usual updates and tomorrow with the guild itself streaming the race live. For other streams of the progress race, head on over to twitch's WoW page and you'll be sure to find tons of players showing off their journey through Uldir.
We'll also be using this article as a hub for all the race summary posts.

The race is about to begin and you can check out all of our coverage right here.

A lot of Azerite trait talk today as Blizzard have announced a second round of tuning, focusing on tanks and healers, coming with the next reset. We also got a blue post commenting on the imbalance in the traits and the Mythic+ problem with Azerite armor not being available.

There's also some PvP class tuning coming next week which you can check out here.
      Trait Tuning (source)
With scheduled maintenance next week, we intend to make some targeted adjustments to Azerite Traits for tanks and healers. Here's what that currently looks like:
Blessed Sanctuary bonus increased by 10%. Burst of Life healing increased by 20%. Craggy Bark bonus increased by 15%. Dauntless Divinity block increased by 20%. Depth of the Shadows healing increased by 20%. Ephemeral Recovery mana increased by 15%. Gory Regeneration healing increase increased by 15%. Judicious Defense absorption increased by 10%. Masterful Instincts bonuses increased by 10%. Permeating Glow bonus increased by 15%. Reinforced Plating Strength increased by 10%. Revel in Pain absorption increased by 20%. Savior trigger threshold increased to 50% health (was 35%). Soothing Waters healing increased by 10%.
You'll see the final adjustments in our hotfixes update post on Tuesday.

      Trait imbalance and M+ (source)
      Couple things:
We agree that the trait imbalance is a real problem right now. We made a bunch of tuning adjustments last week, and have more planned for the very near future (primarily focused on buffing underperforming traits). We see this as the source of most of the frustrations with the system; if the delta between your best and worst traits wasn't so big, it'd be less frustrating when a piece of Azerite armor doesn't have your best trait on it.
We also agree that the Mythic+ Azerite Armor situation isn't ideal. However, we need to be careful with how we award Azerite Armor through M+. Right now, easier access to Azerite Armor is one of the main advantages that raiding has over gearing exclusively through Mythic+, and we want to keep some additional benefit there as compensation for the extra effort and coordination needed to organize a raid team. That's is why we're hesitant to do something like add a guaranteed piece of Azerite Armor to the weekly chest - it'd be too lucrative.
But like I said, we do agree that the current setup can be frustrating. We're looking for better options.
