wow Legion Alpha: New Build Deployed (21134)

1 post in this topic

Another build has been deployed over on the Alpha servers, with updates being applied to a number of classes. Check out what's new!

The official post from the forums was put out last night detailing which classes were going to be updated. The new build didn't add much new content, but was more concerned with re-working and fixing problems already in the game.

Blizzard Icon Build 21134 Design Notes

Hey all,
Today’s alpha build is another smaller update, having been a mere 5 days since the last build, but still contains a few noteworthy things:
Class Status – We’re continuing to iterate on our class abilities and talents, based on testing and feedback. This build has many revisions scattered around the classes, but here are some highlights:
  • Guardian Druid – Swipe has replaced Lacerate, and several talents have been revised.
  • Arcane Mages – Mana costs have had a pass of tuning, to get Mana consumption rates into the right ballpark. Additionally, Arcane Explosion has been changed to add the ability for Arcane to have a ‘burn’ rotation in AoE as well.
  • Retribution Paladins – Several talents have been rearranged and revised.
  • Brewmaster Monks – Several changes have been made to Stagger, passive defenses, and Brew abilities.
  • The Arcway – A new dungeon will open soon. Give it a try, and let us know what you think!
Thanks, and we look forward to your feedback!
Also, check out the design notes from the previous build, if you haven't already as well:
One of the few new introductions to the Alpha is a new dungeon in the near future. We will make sure to update you further on this with a video when the dungeon actually releases!
Other notable changes within the build include alterations to how the Water Strider mounts will work in Legion. On the Alpha, some players have been using the mounts to run past walls in the game and explore, so Blizzard have since disabled the use of these mounts outside of Pandaria and Draenor for the ability_mount_waterstridermount.jpgReins of the Azure Water Strider and ability_mount_waterstridermount.jpgReins of the Crimson Water Strider respectively. This has, on the whole, been met by a huge level of discontent within the community. You can check out a feedback thread dedicated to this on the US Alpha forums.
Outside of the class changes, the build itself didn't introduce much. It seems Blizzard are now aiming for more frequent, smaller build releases in order to receive more frequent feedback.

Well, it seems announcements for killvideos are a thing nowadays! After Exorsus' World 2nd, Method have let slip the date and time of the very first airing of their World First Mythic Kil'jaeden kill video. Now, we've all been able to see the fight up until around 40% courtesy of the Alpha stream, but that final 40ish percent seems brutal and will definitely be worth a watch (or several).
In any case, you can check it out it starting from 8PM CET over on Method's twitch channel. Meanwhile you can read the interview they recently did covering the whole of ToS progression.

I have compiled the Warcraft story into 240 events nested into 29 statements nested into 4 summaries, all of which can be toggled individually.

This is a work in progress still, and certain details are outdated due to the WoW: Chronicle retcon, but it still gives a very solid ground-up understanding of the Warcraft story and most of its fundamental aspects.

Update: Added nerdscreams video and killshot.
And the second kill is finally here! Exorsus have defeated Kil'jaeden 7 days, 5 and a half hours after Method's World First kill and fended off the Chinese guilds that were pressuring their silver medal spot. After 962 wipes this will come as a huge relief for the Russian guild, as they've also had wipes as low as 0.2% in the last couple of days and been pretty frustrated with some of the issues on the fight. Guild GM Alveona even promised a big post about the whole issue after the race is done, so we have that to look forward to!
Now it's down to Alpha and Style War to fight over the final top 3 spot, if one of the other 25 guilds on Kil'jaeden don't pull an upset and get there first! We also have Method's kill video to look forward to, which should arrive either after the 3rd kill or when one of the streaming guilds gets close to a kill. And there's Method's  big interview coming today where we'll find out more specifics of the fights!

Lightforged Golem is one of 7.3 mounts that deserves a separate preview. It has unique animations and it's quite probable that it will be related to Antorus, the Burning Throne raid as a reward for completing Glory of the Argus Raider.
Below are screenshots of the mount including the /mountspecial animation.

Patch 7.3 adds two new factions to the game. The first one's called Argussian Reach and you can add up to 7 mounts to your collection. Most of the reputation is gained from World Quests.
Toraan the Revered is the faction's quartermaster and sells a tabard at Exalted.

The new faction offers 7 talbuk mounts. All of them are unlocked at Revered.
Maddened Chaosrunner is the only mount that has a somewhat "unique appearance". The other talbuks are just recolors.
