Haste paladin with a gearing question

Recommended Posts

Whats up guys, my prot pally is 510 and ive been slowly rotating haste and mastery gear into my prot set. Now, i understand that crit is horrific for us so i dont bother with any ret gear that holds crit, but ret gear that's Haste/hit or haste/exp or haste/mastery is glorious for me. however, what is actually stopping me from gearing my ret set fully with the above stat gear and then just slapping a 1hander and shield on the ret set and tanking with a haste build? i mean...could i literally be a tanking ret pally essentially? obviously this would put my parry/dodge at nearly 0, so is there a mitigation sweet spot or haste breakpoint i should be shooting for?

From my experience your avoidance is not gonna matter at all, the only real reason why you would even look at the regular tanking pieces with dodge/parry is because they can reset your avenger shield.

Theck's work on the prot pala stat prio is marvelous and he's been promoting haste builds for quite some time. My prot pally is geared towards haste itself so you could take a look at it. http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/kazzak/Solidwall/advanced as you can see I've got the head from feng heroic and it has crit on it, the only real reason is that it got so damn much haste so it's good.

There's exceptions to this gearing method ofcourse, such as the valor ring from shado-pan assault wich gives small haste but loads of crit.

But my opinion on it all is that you should rather take a crit/haste item than a dodge/parry item. Always.

never in a million years thought that i would ever apply what i learned in econometrics, but without that class i would have been lost reading that page. thats fascinating that cntrl/haste still holds a dominant lead over avoidance even after they buffed AS procs. maybe blizz should discuss their new strat to burn haste pallies with theck before they implement it in patches.

      Hey all,

Not new to hearthstone but haven't been playing constantly and just jumping back in towards the end of July.  I am not sure if there's a better name or configuration for this yet but I've had some good luck with it so far.  If nothing else it's just really fun to play for me.
This deck has no duplicates to take advantage of Zephyrs the Great and Sir. Finley of the Sand.

Never posted a deck before so not sure if this is how of the place but feel free to give me constructive feedback.

I'm new to using icy-veins, and I cannot seem to get used to navigating the WoW class guides. Why is stat info the 13th section of the guides, but max level content 6th through 12th? Where do I find comparisons between specs?
