wow Legion Harbingers: Gul'dan Video Released!

Did you miss the recently released Harbingers video? Check it out here!

The video follows the story of Gul'dan and how he ended up becoming a Warlock. Watch the video below before checking out our discussion of it:

So the first question is, which Gul'dan is this? There are arguments to be made for it being the alternate (AU), the main (MU) Gul'dan or both. Despite there never being a mention of this in Gul'dan's previous history, this wouldn't be the first time we have seen a retcon implemented.

Personally, I think this base history is being applied to both, with it then diverging on different paths given the universe being looked at.

For MU Gul'dan, he follows the path of the video, but is then told by the elements to look to Ner'zhul for guidance. Ner'zhul helps him, teaches him the way of the Shaman and the lore follows on as we know it prior to this video being released.

For AU Gul'dan, I think he simply follows the path of this video to the end. There is no mention of Ner'zhul being his teacher, so one would assume he comes to Grommash with the Legion behind him already. He offers the blood to Grom, which would then lead the Horde down the same path as in the MU, but Garrosh disrupts the timeline, stopping them drinking the blood.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

I find it sorta tame to be honest. I mean of course he had to have some tragic esque back story to make him bad guy (please blizz no redemption story, not another) but I found it a little shallow. I would expect the legion to be a bit more......... cinematic with their offerings. It seemed too subtle, I kinda expected archimonde or someone to explode in a glory of fire and tempt him or something. At least in AU Guldan seems to have familiarity with Mannoroth, also lore wise manny did have a penchant for corrupting orcs, so I would have liked to see that happen. Give guldan and manny a bit more history.

Compared to what happened to the MU Gul'dan, I agree. In the original story, you saw him betray everything, betray his master, his teacher, but for what? Just raw power. It showed the pure greed, the lust for destruction, the ability to fill a spot of power that he felt his teacher wasn't fit to fill.

I think this is trying to put Gul'dan into a slightly more emotional story, this whole thing of "I got picked on so I'll show them!". The cinematic itself is amazing, but the story just doesn't fit his character as much in my opinion.

agreed, plus just showing up and burning down the village didn't really seem evil enough, i mean of course in a teaser trailer they aren't going to show torture or anything but, again i think guldan's retribution would have been a bit more severe XD

Tomb of Sargeras is a nine-boss raid brought with Patch 7.2. It won't open immediately on patch day and will be available at a later point just like Nighthold. In this video, we've explored the raid's architecture including the very depths of the Tomb!
Please note that the video may contain spoilers / boss rooms within the Tomb.
The raid's depths are very similar to the Throne of Thunder and Ulduar combined with elven architecture.

Ban-Lu, Grandmaster's Companion is Monk's Class Mount. It doesn't have any color variations at this time and we're not sure if Blizzard plans to add different tints in future builds. Monks can get a pet from their Order Hall that perfectly matches their new mount. You'll probably have to unlock all Artifact traits to purchase it if it's gated like the new Death Knight pets.

Ban-Fu, Cub of Ban-Lu (NPC - Ban-Fu, Cub of Ban-Lu) can be purchased from Mei Chele for 10,000 Order Resources.  Pet Abilities Spirit Claws Moon Tears Prowl Jade Claw Feed Vengeance
