Soul Swap Macro quick question

Recommended Posts

Noticed that the macro here sometimes will remove the dots. Using the one suggest on site as

#showtooltip Soul Swap /cast Soulburn /cast Soul Swap

looked around and was told that this macro will fix the issue is this correct.

the one that is suggest to use is

#showcooldown Soul Swap

/castsequence reset=2/target Soulburn,a

/castsequence reset=2/target Soul Swap,a

the problem is that I will often se ea huge proc with affdots and go to cast the macro not realizing no shards and remove the dots or assuming that no shards is causing them to be removed

Wouldn't a better fix to be to simply be aware of how many Soul Shards you have and not make this playstyle mistake? It's not the macro pulling DoTs...it's that you're not doing the Soulburn part of Soul Swap. You're simply doing Soul Swap:Inhale which is the intended effect if you don't use Soulburn before it.

I've also found that in some cases if you get trigger happy, and get ahead of the GCD, the cast can/will ignore the Soulburn, and just cast Soul Swap. I've had this happen to me before with full shards... quite annyoing, but I've learned to work around it.
