Update: Blizzard have now re-enabled the rare drops and reputation, having fixed the issue.
Rare Mobs (Source)
Yes, just a few minutes ago. The rares and their drops should be now working as expected.
Blizzard have announced they will be disabling loot drops and reputation gains from all Dragon Isles rare mobs due to the daily limit not working properly. They hope to fix the bug and reinstante loot and reputation within the next few hours.
Rare Drops (Source)
With a temporary hotfix, we recently made it so that all rare enemies in the Dragon Isles, such as Cinta the Forgotten, Windseeker Avash, and Drakewing do not drop loot or reputation. We’re working on a bug that’s causing drops from rare enemies to disobey the daily loot lockout.
We expect to have that bug fixed in the next few hours, and at that time, we’ll turn their drops back on, and they should drop their goods on a daily basis going forward.
Thank you for your understanding.
More Dragonflight hotfixes have arrived, with many class, item, pvp and quest fixes, including the lost UI settings, incorrect gear rewards in War Mode, a lowering of Cobalt Assembly reputation item drops and plenty more!

While there are plenty of issues that come along with a new expansion launch, they tend to be new content-related, but luckily for us, those that aren't are usually very hilarious, and Dragonflight did not disappoint in that department.
Falconmind managed to get a full bag of basic Hearthstones, as new ones just kept appearing every time they re-bound their inn location! Unfortunately they're all on the same cooldown...
We have a new form of PvP that arrived in Dragonflight, and it's some glorious dogfight Top Gun action! In case you weren't aware, one of the Dragonriding talents allows you to dismount other players (in War Mode) and Pige0nYT has now demonstrated it!
The talent in question is Airborne Tumbling and it allows Whirling Surge to become the ultimate aerial weapon - if you can get close enough, that is. As mentioned in the comments this particular talent has some players simply turning War Mode off, but as you can see it's a tricky one to pull off, so the dangers aren't quite that high (but maybe be ore aware of your surroundings if you're playing War Mode anyway).
Also, clearly the next step here is:
You can check out our Dragonriding guides for all the talent options here.
Update: it seems Monkeylol was actually the World 2nd/West first, getting that final ding ahead of Chaoswithin, who we previously reported was 2nd. Thanks to Stensture for the heads up.
Well that was fast (although not quite as fast as expected due to the launch issues)! We already have our first max-level character in Dragonflight, as Korean players Adelio and his group managed to gain those 10 new levels as if it was nothing (as reported by Method's stream event). With some really long loading screens for the US and EU side of the launch, many players managed to actually get to the Dragon Isles instantly and start leveling there and while Korean servers also had some issues, the World First group were only affected by a small boat wait.
As you can see that final ding came from some crafting XP and a quest turn-in, but Adelio and two other players from their group were one of the lucky players to get to the Isles quickly, despite having to wait some 7 minutes for the boat, and just proceeded to speed level the quests and get those World Firsts!
There were many tactics to getting to max (with pre-completed quests at the ready being standard), from running Torghast or even island expeditions, players heading to Deepholm, but crafting XP turned out to be the key point, as players did their crafting at different times, complementing whichever other strategy they were using. In the end it was a "regular" speed run of the Dragon Isles quest that won the day, so congratulations to Adelio and their group!
Over on the West side we have Chaoswithin grabbing the local first level 70 a short while ago as well, and there are around 5-7 players currently level 70 right now! Interestingly Echo's Gingi actually managed to get to 70 in around an hour and a half, as it took him a long time to log in and get past the loading screen.
You can check out the longer run up to the World First max level for the new expasion, with the crafting part included as well:
