Legion Hotfixes: September 16th

Recommended Posts

23298-september-15th-hotfixes-karazhan-p

A bit set of fixes this time, as tanks see their damage nerfed by 10%, nerfs to AoE abilities for DPSers, including DHs, Monks (both starting next reset) and food and drinks will now restore twice the amount of hp/mana!

Blizzard LogoSeptember 16th

Classes

  • (Hotfix in testing; to be applied with next weekly maintenance) Most abilities used by Tank specializations have had their damage reduced by 10%. Abilities which are shared with other specializations remain unchanged for those other specializations.

Demon Hunter

  • Fury of the Illidari will now correctly continue to do damage if your character is crowd controlled.
  • (Hotfix in testing; to be applied with next weekly maintenance) Fel Barrage proc rate changed to be consistent, regardless of target count.
    • Developers’ Notes: Havoc burst AoE damage has proved to be too strong, and Fel Barrage was the most prominent source of that. It should shine in multi-target situations because it does AoE damage; it doesn't need to also proc more often in those situations.

Druid

  • (Guardian) Ursoc’s Endurance will correctly allow Ironfur to persist for its extended duration.

Monk

  • (Hotfix in testing; to be applied with next weekly maintenance) Strike of the Wind Lord now deals reduced damage to secondary targets.
    • Developers’ Notes: Windwalker burst AoE damage was a bit too strong, and Strike of the Wind Lord is the biggest source of that. We want it to remain strong for single target, but not as strong with its secondary damage.

Paladin

  • Devotion Aura should no longer drop off of the Paladin using it if the Paladin moves too quickly.
  • (Hotfix in testing; to be applied with next weekly maintenance) Light of the Protector and Hand of the Protector now heals for 30% of missing health (down from 35%).
  • (Hotfix in testing; to be applied with next weekly maintenance) Scatter the Shadows (Protection Paladin artifact trait) now increases the healing of Light of the Protector by 6/12/18% (down from 10/20/30%).
    • Developers’ Notes: Protection Paladin self-healing was buffed substantially near the end of beta, based on concerns that it was too weak, but those concerns have proved unfounded. We're bringing it back down to its intended level.

Priest

  • Shadow Mania will no longer continue to generate insanity after you unlearn the talent.

Shaman

  • The bonus Ghost Wolf speed from Rehgar’s Bodyguard ability should persist through entering combat, though it will not apply when entering Ghost Wolf while in combat.

Warlock

  • Destruction Warlocks that are stuck on the final Artifact acquisition quest "Ritual Ruination" should now find it easier to get through all obstacles. Any warlocks that already have the Artifact, but are stuck on a quest objective, should return to Dalaran to get full credit for the quest.
  • Pleasure through Pain will now properly reduce the cooldown of Shadow Bolt while the Succubus is affected by Glyph of Shivarra.

Class Halls

  • Fixed a bug that was preventing some players from being granted all of the follower missions that were intended for their followers’ ilevels.
  • Fixed an issue where very rarely, players would not be able to acquire Champions on certain characters.
  • Hunters who have researched the Eagle Ally perk and have since changed to no longer have that perk will no longer be teleported to unusable flight points when using the Flight Master's Whistle.
  • The rewards from Twisting Nether Demon Hunter Class hall trait have been improved.

Dungeons

  • Assault on Violet Hold
    • Blood-Princess Thel'ena's Essence of the Blood Princess now increases pet and guardian damage done by 100%.
  • Darkheart Thicket
    • Fixed an issue that was causing Dresaron to sometimes fly away.
  • Throne of Thunder
    • Fixed an issue where Megaera could reset when players attempted to solo the encounter.

Items

  • Legion foods and drinks should now restore twice as much health and mana.
  • The damage output of Potion of Deadly Grace and Potion of the Old War has been increased by 100%.

PvP

  • Several followers have had the effectiveness of their abilities reduced against players.
  • Fixed an issue where PvP World Quests would occasionally reward items that were more powerful than intended for low Honor rank players.
  • Demon Hunter
    • Fury of the Illidari now deals 30% less damage to players

Quests

  • You can now summon Dread Captain Thedon for the World Quest “Dread End” if you kill Serpentrix before interacting with the Ghostly Brazier.

Previous hotfixes.

Crazy fun you mean, right?

Oh, for sure. I loved it. It was awesome having an HP pool the size of a mini boss.

Dragonflight Season 4 starts today, check out our updated to-do list to find out what's new!
      New Content Available This Week
Awakened Raids are now available! The first Awakened raid this week is Vault of the Incarnates! Proiritize clearing Vault for Season 4 loot and your first Antique Bronze Bullion. The first Catalyst charge is available today, but make sure to use it after you clear Awakened Vault to see how many tier set pieces you've acquired after your run. The final boss drops an omnitoken that all classes can roll for. Killing the final boss on Heroic Difficulty yields a token that you can exchange for 1 class set piece. Click here to learn more about Awakened Class Set acquisition methods! The item level of loot from all sources has gone up by +39 item levels in Season 4. Time Rifts, Fyrakk Assaults, and Dreamsurges now all offer better loot, compared to Season 3. If you own Fyr'alath or Nasz'uro, you can upgrade the legendaries to their S4 base Item Level (502) using Scale of Awakening that costs 2 Antique Bronze Bullion, but you can only get 1 this week. You can still upgrade S3 gear, but you can no longer acquire S3 crests. New crests are available for gear upgrading. You will find the gear upgrading brackets in our guide. New rewards await in Mythic+ Season 4! The latest PvP season also introduces new rewards and better gear. This week's bonus event is Burning Crusade Timewalking You can clear dungeons to unlock slots in the Great Vault alongside Item Level 467 loot! Complete 5 Timewalking Quests for the weekly quest to receive 1 piece of item level 493+ loot. Clear Black Temple Timewalking forI Item Level 493 loot. DHs who earned both warglaives the regular way can now obtain the Weapon Arsenal from Illidan which lets them use the legendaries for transmog. Thanks to the increased reputation buff, it's super fast this week to reach Revered with the Netherwing and add some cool mounts to your collection! In Shadowlands Season 4, we've seen Fated World Bosses, but it doesn't seem to be the case with Dragonflight Season 4, so it's not really worth killing World Bosses.

Here's a reminder for all Demon Hunters! Since it's Burning Crusade Timewalking you can earn Arsenal: The Warglaives of Azzinoth from Illidan if you earned the weapons the regular way!
Make sure to run Timewalking Black Temple on your Demon Hunter this week if you've unlocked the Warglaives of Azzinoth achievement with a character that can equip them.
You need to collect both warglaives to use them for transmog and to unlock the “I'll Hold These For You Until You Get Out” achievement.
Remember, achievement credit isn't shared across your account, so you must obtain both weapons with the same character.
If you haven't acquired the regular warglaives yet, now is a great time to start farming them. That way, you'll be prepared to grab the Arsenal at the next Burning Crusade Timewalking event.

It's super easy to go from Hated to Revered with the Netherwing faction during the Burning Crusade Timewalking event, and the reputation buff helps you unlock six awesome mounts fast!
Sign of the Twisting Nether is active this week and the buff increases Burning Crusade reputation gains from combat and quests by 50%, which means you can skip the tedious Netherwing grind.
Normally, you would go from Hated to Neutral with the Netherwing faction upon completing the questline that unlocks the faction.
With Sign of the Twisting Nether, you will go from Hated straight to Revered! If you haven't done the questline yet, now's the best time to do so!
Where to Start the Netherwing Questline?
You can start the questline at the crystals south of Warden's Cage in Shadowmoon Valley, where you must talk to a High Elf quest-giver named Mordenai wandering around the crystals. You will find more information here.
At Exalted with the Netherwind faction, you will receive one Netherwing mount for free and can buy the rest for 200 Gold from the vendor in Shattrath City.
The available mounts are listed below:
Reins of the Azure Netherwing Drake Reins of the Cobalt Netherwing Drake Reins of the Onyx Netherwing Drake Reins of the Purple Netherwing Drake Reins of the Veridian Netherwing Drake Reins of the Violet Netherwing Drake Here's a screenshot to better illustrate their appearance.
