Help with stats prio

Recommended Posts

I don't understand how versa can be better than mastery, since 3 out of 4 main abilities is chaos damage?! AND Chaos blades scales with mastery!

Let's say you have 5000 mastery or 5000 versa! You would get more damage with mastery

So PLEASE explain to me why versa it better

Because you simply get more damage out of versatility. I'm not sure what kind of answer you're looking for here, but the math that has been done by literally every theorycrafting DH on the subject all agree that point for point versatility is a better stat.

Basically here is the deal.

Attacks that deal chaos damage:
Chaos Strike/Annihilation
Eye Beam
Fel Rush

Attacks that deal other types of damage:

Auto Attacks
Demon's Bite (or demon blades)
Blade Dance
Vengeful Retreat
Throw Glaive (+ Bloodlet)

1% mastery increases the damage of the top category.  Chaos strike is one of our highest damaging abilities.

1% versatility increases the damage of all of the abilities.  Throw Glaive is also one of our highest damaging abilities.

So you can get +1% damage on 3 of your attacks, or 1% damage on all of your attacks.

That is the difference.  So you would not get more damage with mastery over versatility.
