Inconsistency between Icy Veins and Simulationcraft

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I'm most likely overlooking something, but in the Icy Veins guide, in the pros and cons section it says that MM and SV both have very high ST burst and ST damage in general. But if you look at Simcraft's results, all 3 Hunter specs are at the bottom of the chart.

Can someone explain what's going on here?

The profile Simcraft have used only has 19 points spend in Artifact Weapon and f.e. Marksmanship needs more haste. Since MM also scales great with weapon and stats you overtake many classes the better the gear (as shown in the 865 profiles from Simcraft - simming the same mistakes again).

Marksmanship is the third best spec in dps overall as measured by warcraftlogs for EN raids.

also i suppose, MM hunters have a relatively easy rotation which is good to execute in most scenrios. and The simulation takes perfect play into account when it simulates.  so the chances hunter put out more dps than other classes are very possible, since they dont have to stop dps that often for example

Hunters, from my experience are genrally at the top tier of Emerald Nightmare charts. no matter what the sims say.

Ferals, locks, rouges, etc. are more likely to mess up rotations or have bad rng and therefore loose dmg they get accounted for in the simulations. Not a native speaker, i hope i got my point across
