Blizzard has released a new video and a neat webpage, offering some details on the new league system coming to the Heroes of the Storm Global Championship (HGC) in 2017.

A month ago, we offered some primary details on the format of the 2017 Heroes Global Championship. Now, Blizzard has published a rough timeline and some more specific information on the new HGC format.

The qualifiers for the top 4 regions (NA, Europe, Korea and China) will begin in November and December with 6 spots in each region being up for grabs. There are already two qualified teams for NA (Denial Esports, Astral Authority), Europe (Team Dignitas, Fnatic) and Korea (MVP Black, Ballistix), while the China ones have yet to be determined.

After each of the four regions has its 8 best teams, League Play will begin. Teams from all regions will be pitted against each other in weekly, livestream matches. There will be Clashes twice a year, where the top three teams from each regions will be joined by the top teams from ANZ, Latin America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan in invitational exhibitions.

Moreover, there will be a Midseason Brawl on May/June; this is an elite global competition featuring 12 pro teams from every HGC region. Lastly, the Crucible events (happening twice a year) will allow teams from the Open Division to compete with the pros.

You can check the website introducing HGC 2017 here or you can watch the video below for a concise summary:
