Sombra to Finally Be Revealed Before BlizzCon?

New lore post indicates November 1st as a possible reveal date.

So, what started out as a fun ARG trying to find as much info about Overwatches newest Hero has slowly become an annoying going-through-the-motions experience for a lot of the OW community, and all signs were pointing towards a simple BlizzCon reveal, basically having nothing much to do with the ARG which didn't make anyone particularly happy. However, a new lore post on the official site might give some hope to a pre-con reveal as the "Sombra collective" dug up some dirt on the CEO of LumériCo and the Los Muertos gang, a strong supporter of the collective, has announced a protest to coincide with LumériCo's unveiling of the Dorado nuclear plant on November 1st.

Now, this may just be the preamble for the actual reveal that will still happen at BlizzCon, but considering the general unease of the OW community at all this teasing and ARGing, only for the new Hero to be revealed at the most expected place and time, it seems possible that we might see the reveal on November 1st and then extensive discussions during and probable PTR access right after BlizzCon. Here's the full lore post on the matter:

Blizzard LogoLumériCo Revelations: CEO Guillermo Portero Under Fire

DORADO, MEXICO—LumériCo has been engulfed in scandal by documents brought to light by the hacker collective known as "Sombra." The documents are alleged to have been obtained during recent security breaches of the energy company's internal networks. While LumériCo and Mexican law enforcement have categorized these break-ins as criminal actions, the Sombra collective claims that it is "only acting in the public interest."

At this time, the massive file dump is still being analyzed and dissected, but a number of allegations have already been made, many of them focusing on the office of LumériCo CEO Guillermo Portero. Documents indicate that Mr. Portero used the company's funds as his own piggy bank, that he was personally involved in bribing public officials and creating a system of kickbacks and payoffs beneficial to LumériCo, and finally, that he proposed a plan to seize privately held land via government expropriation to expand LumériCo's facilities throughout Mexico.

In addition, emails revealed conversations with Indian megacorporation Vishkar to explore the exporting of LumériCo's proprietary energy systems to Vishkar's developments worldwide. Vishkar itself has recently been the subject of inquiries regarding its business dealings, particularly in the wake of its newest projects in Rio de Janeiro. Given the amount of investment Mexico has put into LumériCo, a partially state-sponsored energy company, its cozy relationship with Vishkar should be a cause for concern.

Mr. Portero has forcefully denied the accusations. "It is preposterous to place any faith in records purported to have been obtained by thieves. They are complete fabrications and have no basis in reality. I have dedicated my life to my home—my country—and I have only operated with the highest levels of integrity. I am confident that my name and the reputation of LumériCo will be cleared, that these baseless claims will be shown to be without merit, and that these criminals who have repeatedly broken the laws of our civil society will be brought to justice."

Meanwhile, Los Muertos, which has come out as a strong supporter of Sombra in recent days, has responded to the collective's revelations, calling for the immediate resignation and arrest of Mr. Portero and his co-conspirators, the deactivation of LumériCo's power plants pending an independent investigation into the company's governance, and reparations to citizens affected by LumériCo's policies. Los Muertos is organizing a protest to coincide with LumériCo's unveiling of the Dorado nuclear plant on November 1st.

So what do you think, Blizzconmbra or Nov1stmbra?

You mean the ARG might finally end?

I do like that the people working on the ARG were included in the report as the "hacker collective".

Well hopefully the ARG ending would mean the character being revealed otherwise it was a massive tease.

I'm not dreaming about that anymore... at this point, I'm just letting the life follow the flow...

The Lunar New Year event starts today and we have another 3 skins revealed! We're getting Torbjorn, Zenyatta and Tracer in the mix, with some pretty nice skins (although not really as nice as the first three revealed).
Torbjorn's beard gets a little out of hand in this one and his wrench arm gets a little bit fancier:
The beards are spreading it seems, even to Omnics, as Zenyatta gets an actually pretty good, if hairy, skin out of the deal:
And finally there's Tracer who's... well it's just Tracer with a new hat:

The latest Overwatch event is coming on Thursday the 23th, and we already have three skins to take a look at. They're actually pretty damn good ones, featuring Reaper, Hanzo and Reinhardt connecting with their eastern roots (with Hanzo going double eastern, not that that sentence makes any sense).
Reaper seems to have won the skin-off this time, with his LÜ BU garments, and he even has some pretty great fan art ( by Ethan墨画 ) to go with it already.

There will be a few more coming in the next few days and hopefully they'll be as good as these three.

The events keep on rolling in, as we still have the Ana Bastet challenge going on until the 21st, and now Blizzard have already announced the next big one. The Lunar New Year is returning with the Year of the Pig and Solider:76 is pretty happy about it.
So, new emotes, highlight intros for Solider at least, and a whole lot more cosmetics are coming next week, keeping things moving along and fresh.
We also have a new video commissioned by Blizzard themselves by dillongoo, featuring a very fluffy Ana and Solider:

There's a pretty staggering amount of OW Funko Pop figures out there (55!), from the basic models to more specific skins and designs, and that doesn't even cover all heroes! Game Informer has put together a list of all the different editions you can buy, some at exclusive retailers and pointed out that we still don't have a Bastion one!
You can head on over there if you want to check out everything that's available, and here's a few of my picks for the best ones as well:
