wow Legendary Bad Luck Protection System

Legendary bad luck protection exists and Aerythlea talks about the system comparing it to items with fixed drop chance.

Targetable boss loot (mounts, armor, pets) has a fixed drop chance. So if an item has a drop chance of 1%, it doesn't matter how many times you kill a boss to drop that rare mount you've been waiting for ages to drop, the chance will always remain 1%.

On the other hand, the Legendary system is a little different. If you don't get a Legendary item, your chance to get one increase over time, so literally, the more Legendary-eligible content you complete the higher chance you'll get a Legendary item.

Yes, bad luck protection does exist.

When it comes to most targettable loot from a boss (gear/mounts/pets etc.) those drops have a fixed drop chance. If "Boots of Unending Awesomeness" have a 33% chance of dropping, that chance will always be 33% regardless of how many loot-eligible times you kill that boss.

Legendaries on the other hand, if you are running Legendary-eligible content and don't get a Legendary, then your chance of getting one with increase over time. The more content you do without getting a Legendary, the higher your chance will become.

Let's say you have 3-sided die. If you roll the number 3, you get the item.

In the case of the "Boots of Unending Awesomeness," you could roll the die 20 times and never get a 3. Your chance of getting a 3 on your next roll is still 33%, as all rolls are considered unique and do not take previous rolls into account; the die cares not for the fact that you've yet to roll a 3.*

(*note that this refers to the items that drop directly from the boss and not the system of winning items via bonus loot, which has its own logic.)

In the case of Legendaries, you could roll the die 20 times and never get a 3. However, with bad-luck protection, the die will become more and more weighted toward giving you a 3. Due to the die becoming more weighted, the chance of getting a 3 on your next roll will be higher than without bad luck protection.

And even than you can have bad luck. I got my first Legendary about 2 weeks ago. I respect form shadow to disc for a world boss because no healer was there. Guess who didn't set his loot spec to shadow. ;-)

Heard that story so many times... Legendary loot chance should be separate by spec.

If we take Aerythlea example : 1 different die by spec would be awesome. 

But only for legendary that are specific to a spec, not the ones shared by all specs.

And then it stops at 999,999/1,000,000 - never giving you a legendary, always rolling that 1/1,000,000 to not drop ;D

Im about to quit wow. 6 months of playing every day, trying to get nice legendaries like my friends have. I only get 3 utillity legendaries never one of the better dps ones.... Blizz can go ***** themselfs there is no bad luck protection, for me there is only good luck protection.

      Blizzard revealed Prestige rewards for the upcoming Legion PvP Season 4.
      In Legion, players can prestige up after reaching Honor level 50 to earn additional cosmetics, like vanity items, titles or mounts. When PvP Season 4 goes live, the following rewards will become available:

      Aka'magosh my raider friends! Chumani here from Corrupted Destiny guild (Horde) on Skywall/Drak'thul realms. We are currently recruiting for our core team for mythic raiding. We are 10 /10 Heroic Nighthold (10/10 N NH in about 1 1/2 hours) (Providing we arent cutting up and getting yelled at.... by a certain mage in our guild.... who cuts up too.... and won't admit it..... and puts down fake portals.... every week..... and people still take them.... to their death..... really......week..... after week.... to their death...... seriously)

      Following Blizzard's announcement that Destiny 2 would be exclusively available via the Blizzard app, caused prices of WoW Tokens to reach an all-time high in both regions.
      The last time we witnessed WoW Token prices spiking was when Blizzard launched the WoW Token to Battle.net Balance exchange.
      Europe
      Token prices are slowly going down, but in Europe they spiked at 251,000 Gold for a single token.

      North America
      America didn't see such a dramatic increase. Just a little above 140K Gold for one token.
