The Public Test Realms have gone offline and Build 23109 should be deployed soon. It features a lot of class changes and hopefully, we'll be able to test out micro-holidays!

Update

Seems there are some technical issues with the latest build and it will be deployed tomorrow. Realms are still up with Build 23038 at least according to the updated announcement.

Blizzard LogoArvaanas

Greetings PTR friends,
Things are taking a bit longer than expected with this push. Realms are still up with the previous build, so expect some downtime tomorrow when the deploy starts up again.
Thanks again for your patience!

(Source)

Many players were experiencing the "World Server Down" error lately when they tried to log in. Clearing cache didn't fix the issue. We'll see if this got resolved. Here's the official announcement made by Arvaanas.

Blizzard LogoArvaanas

Greetings all,
In a few moments, the PTR realms will be coming down in order to deploy a new 7.1.5 build. No ETA for today's push however I'll update the thread if things look like they're going to take longer than usual (>6 hours).

I'll leave this thread open for discussion so long as conversations remain civil and adhere to forum guidelines.

Thanks for your patience!

(Source)

If you'd like to participate in the testing, just navigate to "PTR" from the dropdown menu in the Battle.net app and install the client. You will be able to copy a character from your live realms after you log in.

We'll bring you more information as soon as the patch is deployed. Stay tuned!

Our Battle for Azeroth expansion hub is filled to brim with useful information to get you started with WoW's latest expansion!
Your source of the latest Battle for Azeroth news!
      Battle for Azeroth 8.0 Pre-Patch
The pre-patch will go live the week of June 17, 2018. It's available for playtesting since June 14 and comes with all Battle for Azeroth backend updates and features aside from new content. The pre-expansion event is called War of Thorns and results in the Burning of Teldrassil. Don't forget to check out our article about things to do before the pre-patch goes live. Content such as the Mage Tower, or the Chosen achievement will be removed soon. Patch 8.0 is already available for pre-download and players can purchase specific Legendary items for Essences. Players will be able to create Blood Elves with golden eyes and upright Orcs in the pre-patch. More details about the customization options can be found here.
      Release Date
World of Warcraft's latest expansion will be released on August 14, 2018 in all regions at the same time. You can find out more information in this post.
      Pre-Purchase Battle for Azeroth
If you pre-purchase the expansion, you'll get a level 110 boost and gain early access to four Allied Races. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with various goodies in all Blizzard games except Diablo. Collector's Edition from local retailers also comes with two novellas and you can read excerpts here. Character slots will be increased to 18 per server. Inactive accounts have been upgraded to Warlords of Draenor.
Game Version Pricing Buy Link Standard Edition $49.99 // 44.99 EUR EU / US Digital Deluxe Edition $69.99 // 59.99 EUR EU / US Pre-Purchase Deal [More Details]
New players that pre-order Battle for Azeroth will get Legion bundled with it for 49.99 USD // 44.99 EUR.
      Allied Races
Highmountain Tauren, Lightforged Draenei, Nightborne and Void Elves are four Allied Races that can be unlocked before Battle for Azeroth goes live. Pre-purchasing the expansion won't unlock them though. They're gated behind Exalted reputation standing with Legion factions and achievements.
If you boost an Allied Race character to level 110, you won't be able to receive Heritage Armor.
It's very likely that Blizzard removes the gating at some point before Battle for Azeroth launch. It would not make much sense having them gated behind old content.
      Allied Races Unlock Requirements
Allied Race Requirements Highmountain Tauren Ain't No Mountain High Enough + Exalted with Highmountain Tribe  Lightforged Draenei You Are Now Prepared! + Exalted with Army of the Light Nightborne Insurrection + Exalted with the Nightfallen Void Elf You Are Now Prepared! + Exalted with Argussian Reach Allied Races in Battle for Azeroth
Four Allied Races have been confirmed in Battle for Azeroth so far. The Alliance will be able to unlock Dark Iron Dwarves and Kul Tirans, whereas the Horde can convince Mag'har Orcs and Zandalari Trolls to join the faction. The aforementioned Allied Races will be gated behind Battle for Azeroth content and can't be unlocked before launch. We learned that Dark Iron Dwarves and Mag'har Orcs will be available first and both Allied Races are now available for playtesting on Beta and in order to unlock them, you must finish your faction's War Campaign in Battle for Azeroth. Blizzard confirmed that Blood Trolls will not be an Allied Race in the coming expansion.

Unlike Dark Iron Dwarves, Mag'har Orcs do not come with an own city. Instead, Blizzard updated Orgrimmar's Valley of Honor with a new outpost called Hall of the Brave that will serve the Mag'har Orcs as a base in the coming expansion.
You can find more Battle for Azeroth news by visiting our Expansion Hub.
In the recruitment scenario, Mag'har Orcs will fight the Lightbound and flee Draenor with Eitrigg. We found the following scenario steps associated with the event:

      Travel to Beastwatch
Go to the aid of Beastwatch! It is the site of an impending assault by the Lightbound. The Lightbound

Return to Warchief Hellscream at Beastwatch. Hall of the Brave
There are plenty of grunts, training dummies and other mobs in the hall. The top floor has two Battlemasters and an Experience Eliminator. Here are some screenshots of the zone.

Mag'har Orcs will be the first Horde Allied Race in Battle for Azeroth. In order to unlock them, you must complete Horde's War Campaign (Ready for War) that gradually unlocks by increasing reputation with the Honorbound faction.

The pre-patch is coming next week and there's even more new stuff to check out. Today we got another addition with players being able to buy specific legendary items from the usual Wakening Essence vendor, and we'll be getting Wakening Essences from all the World Quests and other sources of Artifact Power as well!
Legion Legendary items will become disabled at Level 115 in Battle for Azeroth. For the latest news check out our Battle for Azeroth Expansion Hub.
      Ythisens (source)
With the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch, you’ll notice that the vendor who sold tokens that granted a random Legion Legendary item will now allow you to purchase specific Legion Legendaries relevant to your specialization. These are sold for the same cost that the token was sold for previously.
Battle for Azeroth is just around the corner, so we wanted to take this opportunity to allow players who are trying to complete their Legendary collections a more straightforward way to do so, as well as give or new or returning players a way to pick up some strong items to prepare for leveling.
These items can be purchased from Arcanomancer Vridiel in Dalaran for 1000 Wakening Essence. To help with this, many sources of Artifact Power will now grant Wakening Essences instead. Enjoy!

In the fifth installment of Midgame Moves, Blizzard's Samantha Cruse talked to The Move's Jason "Pikaboo" Smith and Noble Esports' Damon "Jahmilli" Bligh about what to do and how to recover in Arena when you blow all your cooldowns.
Pikaboo always tries to stun every target he can and use all of his diminishing returns and buttons available to get out of a situation as soon as possible. If something's wrong, you need to figure out the best possible solution to handle it. When facing a Warrior, it's imperative not to enter his Execute range. One of the biggest mistakes teams make is unnecessarily overlapping cooldown. Blizzard (Source)
This article is part five of our Midgame Moves series, where we talk to World of Warcraft esports pros about the metagame and strategy of the midgame of an Arena match. Read part four here.
Nearly every second of an Arena match is ripe for mistakes, such as a missed interrupt or a defensive cooldown blown too late. Sometimes it’s as simple as a perfectly executed setup not producing the desired effect—no one died or the enemy didn’t feel sufficiently pressured to use their cooldowns. There, “You only have one option: you instantly have to try and run away as fast as possible and make sure you’re not gonna die,” says The Move’s Jason “Pikaboo” Smith.
There is considerably more on the line if your enemy gets you on the back foot. Split-second decisions can spell victory or doom depending on a play’s outcome. “When an all-in happens, everyone is [usually] super low on health,” Pikaboo continues. “You go from full offensive to defensive instantly and everyone just tries to run away and slow the [incoming] DPS.” When the worst happens, he says, “I’ll try to stun every target I can and use all of my diminishing returns and every single button available to get out of that situation as fast as possible.”
      KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON
If something’s going wrong, don’t look at it as if you’re dying; it’s just a problem you have to figure out the best solution for.
      BLIGH
The easiest way to seal your fate in the above circumstance is to lose your cool. What might look like the end of the line is really an opportunity to withdraw and reassess. (The only exception is if you’re facing off against a class with an execute, such as a Warrior, where it’s imperative that you don’t enter the execute range as it can immediately spell your doom. It’s best to create some distance before that happens; if not, be prepared to sacrifice a cooldown to keep yourself in the game.) Noble Esports’ Damon "Jahmilli" Bligh says, “If something’s going wrong, you have to figure out the best possible solution to handle it. Don’t look at it as if you’re dying; it’s just a problem you have to figure out the best solution for.”
      GETTING BACK ON TRACK
One of the biggest mistakes a team can make is unnecessarily overlapping cooldowns, as this can tip off the enemy team that they have you rattled, and thus boosting their confidence to try risky maneuvers. If this happens, you’ve lost to yourself as much as you have the enemy team.
But it’s not over ‘til it’s over. “Usually you should lose games when things like that happen,” Pikaboo says. “But if you’re careful and play more defensively, sometimes you can get away with [it]. It’s bad when everyone stacks a bunch of cooldowns, it’s hard to come back from—but maybe you get a really good go and do that back to them and it’s an even game again.”
While such reversals are rare, and even more so as you gain experience and move up the ladder, it’s important not to lose hope—or focus—until every last point has been drained from your health bar.
Both in matches that are going well and matches that aren’t, take time in the midgame to analyze what’s happening, and take that insight into the remainder of the game—and the next one. By doing so, you’ll be well on your way to pushing ahead of your competition.
Thanks for joining us for Midgame Moves! If you want to catch up on Opening Moves, which kicked off the year, you can see the whole cross-franchise series here.
