Blizzard Stealth-Removing Warlords of Draenor Crafted Item Appearances in the Shadowlands Pre-Patch?By Stan
It appears Blizzard is removing Rank 2 and 3 Warlords of Draenor crafted item appearances in the Shadowlands pre-patch.
UPDATE: Blizzard just confirmed that the appearances will only be removed temporarily.
The news comes from Redditor macrotransactions, who figured out that Warlords of Draenor upgrade tokens (Burnished Essence) have been turned into gray items (Burnished Essence) in the Shadowlands pre-patch, which means you will be no longer able to upgrade the crafted items.
Rank 2 and Rank 3 crafted items from Warlords of Draenor have unique appearances, and the removal affects all professions.
Warlords of Draenor recipes are heavily daily-locked, so if you want to obtain the appearances now before they get removed, get ready to spend a lot of gold on the Auction House.
At this time, we do not know if this is a bug or intended.
We recently noticed that some Warlords of Draenor item appearances will become unobtainable starting with the Shadowlands pre-patch, specifically rank 2 and 3 crafted items. However, we now found out that that was an unintended consequence of SL development and that we will be getting the appearances back in a later patch!

Yes, this is a side effect of Shadowlands development.
We already have plans to reintroduce all of the transmogs in a future patch. So they’ll only be unobtainable temporarily.
Finally, we're looking at Warrior class changes from the latest Shadowlands Beta build.
Our preview of the latest Shadowlands Beta class changes concludes with Warriors! Colossus Smash and Warbreaker will now apply Deep Wounds from the Arms Warrior's Mastery. The game designers want to give Arms Warriors an additional option to apply Deep Wounds with Warbreaker in multi-target scenarios, without having to rely on Bladestorm or Cleave, and to have Deep Wounds be reliably applied to Colossus Smash targets when Sweeping Strikes is active.
Mastery: Deep Wounds - Mortal Strike, Colossus Smash, Warbreaker, Cleave, and Bladestorm inflict Deep Wounds, dealing [ 60% of Attack Power ] Bleed damage over 12 sec and increasing the damage the enemy takes from you by 8.8%. Fury
Reckless Defense (Legendary Power) - Rampage critical strikes have a 25% chance to reduce your Recklessness and Enraged Regeneration cooldown by 3 seconds.
We're back in the weird zone, with SuNSet somehow deciding it was a good idea to mash together/overlay on top of themselves 13 songs. We get the 10 World of Warcraft themes (including Vanilla and Classic separately), the Warcraft movie theme and specific ones from Hearthstone (from the very recently added Book of Heroes mode) and Heroes of the Storm (from the Craft Wars event).
You'd think this would be a tonal mess (and it is at times), but it sounds surprisingly ok, and it's a very interesting experiment/game for those of us that know all (or most) of these themes - if you listen along you can focus in on an individual track and see which one catches your attention most (WoD in my case).
And if you wanted to hear the actual differences between the expansion themes, we have a different video, by Luciano Lopez, going through the song highlights in order:
So thanks to SuNSet? I guess? It's definitely different at least!
Soulbind Conduits in Shadowlands will be hard-capped at Item Level 210 or Rank 5 in the first raid tier of Shadowlands.
Soulbind Conduits have 15 ranks of power, and in the latest Shadowlands Beta build, we learned how to upgrade them through a consumable sold by Ve'nari in the Maw.
Today, we found out that in the first raid tier of the expansion (and also Mythic Season 1), Soulbind Conduits will be hard-capped at Rank 5, 210 being the highest obtainable.
If you run the following macro in the game and manually replace conduitID and conduitRank, you will see Conduit tooltips with various ranks in the chat. Thanks to AcidWeb from the Shaman Discord for providing the macro.
/run print(C_Soulbinds.GetConduitHyperlink(conduitID, conduitRank)) In the following example, we used the Iron Maiden Conduit and figured out that Soulbind Conduits will be capped at Rank 5 or Item Level 210 in the first raid tier of the expansion. The difference between Rank 5 and Rank 6 is 90 item levels.
