destro warlock pvp

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I've been searching this page for quite some time now on how to play a destroy warlock and do somewhat decent damage in arenas. So far all I've seen people discuss is about RBG's and BG's. I was affliction for a while and switched to destroy to try it out. For some reason no matter what I always get owned by melee and other casters. Even if I'm in full Tyran gear and they're in little or no pvp gear they still own me. I have no idea how to do these burst macros as people call it at the start or how to even really do the right rotations. My rotation is as followed: 1) curse of elements 2) immolate 3) conflagrate 4) incinerate numerous times 5) chaos bolt 6) put immolate back on or conflagrate. I'm probably doing it wrong. Also, when I do sac pet, I don't really know which one is the best to use.

I am not a Warlock expert and don't play a caster either, but it might partially be a positioning issue. Your rotation is pretty much worth nothing if you are constantly interrupted or if the Death Knight has 100% uptime, because you simply fail at keeping him at a distance. For example, your portal and teleportation spells are excellent to get out of the heat of the battle and reset the fight. You should also try to use Health Stones and defensive cooldowns at the right time

Now I can't tell you about your burst, but try to use it when you are certain that the opponent does not have a major defensive cooldown ready (like Touch of Karma or Divine Shield, those spells practically counter your burst). You could also try to look at the PvE guides here and figure out the best way to do damage, sometimes it is not that different to the PvP playstyle, but I am not sure how much of this applies to Destruction Warlocks.
