Tomorrow, Blizzard will be revealing a new Hero that will join the Nexus roster. According to a teaser video posted on Twitter, chances are it will be Zul'jin.

Twitter Teaser Video

The music and the axe are definitely pointing us at trolls.

Zul'jin was first showcased at BlizzCon 2013 (last seconds of the video).

Comparing the axe thrown in the video and his weapons in the screenshot, we can safely assume it's him.

What abilities would you like to see? Do you think he will be a multi-class hero like Varian?

Don't think he'll be multiclass. I think he'll be like Troll Warlord in Dota  aka, he switches from melee to ranged with talents that boost one fighting style over the other. He also might have increased HP regen cuz troll. And besides, everyone knows that the next multiclass hero is the D2 Druid :D

D2 druid would be CRAZY! Think it's a ways off, but I like your thinking.

I agree, not multiclass. Ranged assassin version of Rexxar (like he probably should have been)?

So, do characters have to be 'dead' to get into Heroes? Is that the gimmick?

Following that logic,  Deckard Cain should be next.

What do you think will make him special? We've seen multiple ranged assassins. Valla with axes? I do like the sound of using the Troll Warlord archetype: melee or ranged.

Ugggg.... have to admit I'm so excited for this.

Though as I've grown up I recognize that Warcraft trolls are somewhat... problematic... (their WC3 units are *literally* spear-chuckers) I still have so much love for this WC2 badass. Although it is technically an "alternate timeline," in the horde campaign of WC2 Trolls were straight killers.  Zul'Jin was a key ally to a young Orgrim Doomhammer's quest to rid the Orcs of demonic influences an entire game earlier. It broke my heart when the horde sided with the blood elves over their original allies on Azeroth and Zul'jin became a raid boss for them...

Gameplay-wise, I'd actually love to see him be less "multi" than the troll warlord was (where he basically built for one or the other and didn't really do both). I think they could incorporate elements of both and make a really interesting flow where he flips in and out of melee as the situation/his abilities demand. Also, he's *gotta* be the king of regen imo - slow and steady is ok (raynor and the butcher have burst regen covered), but in WC2 troll berserkers were one of only two ways in the game to recover hit points at all so I'd love to see that reflected.

I'd like to see him as a ranged-assassin with a flexible ability that he can use on himself or on teammates a la Ragnaros' Blast Wave that heals or supports in some way almost as an inverse Assassin/Support to Kharazim's Support/Assassin.

I agree with 90 % of your statement, except for that whole problematic part. Since that word has been overused by modern day puritans so much. I really think we should stop looking at the world like that.

If it would be Troll, then I prefer Vol`Jin the Dark Spear. He is Troll, and when we had a new Healer in HotS? He is also dead, and with Voodoo things he perfectly fits.

Personally I find the word pretty useful. It's an easy way to acknowledge that something has, well, problems, without automatically condemning that thing by calling out it's specific faults. It particularly comes in handy for topics of fiction (like wc trolls) that I'm still a big fan of even if parts of them make me uncomfortable.

for example, would it have made this conversation easier to simply say that many aspects of WC trolls are out-and-out racist? While this is demonstrably true it comes across as if I'm saying "you must disavow your fandom or else you are racist by association" which is both not what I believe and also an argument I wasn't interested in getting into on this forum where we are all fans of the source material.

Sorry, I really don't want to start anything on here, just wanted to mention that (despite imperfections) I really love this character and what he stood for in wc2 and I really look forward to playing him in heroes!

What madness is this? A polite conversation on the Internet? Jokes aside, glad we talked. And personally I think that whole troll savages really fits them ;) Just cuz it looks like Africans with spears doesn't make it racist. It's just as silly as with the whole "Witcher 3 is racist cuz it has no POCs" even though it's based on Medieval Poland.

Perspective can make people's comments seem pretty silly at times :p

Spyrian posted new Hero Level XP Values for Heroes 2.0 today on behalf of Lead Game Designer Travis Mcgeathy. Players can now calculate and convert Hero levels for Heroes 2.0.
      Blizzzard (Source)
*Posted on behalf of Lead Game Designer Travis McGeathy*

If you’ve been following Heroes 2.0 news, you’ll know that we’re updating the experience curve for hero progression. We’ve been making adjustments to XP values for some hero levels, and have settled on ones that we’re happy with. We want to take this opportunity to get the actual numbers into the hands of the community so you can get an idea of what level your heroes will translate to when Heroes 2.0 launches: Hero Level: XP Required in Heroes 2.0
Level 1: 0 XP Level 2: 100,000 XP Level 3: 250,000 XP Level 4: 400,000 XP Level 5: 500,000 XP Level 6: 600,000 XP Level 7: 700,000 XP Level 8: 800,000 XP Level 9: 900,000 XP Level 10: 1,000,000 XP Level 11: 1,100,000 XP Level 12: 1,200,000 XP Additional Levels: 1,200,000 XP Your heroes will be converted over to the new levels when Heroes 2.0 releases. As previously mentioned, even though we increased XP requirements for lower levels, you will not lose any Hero levels. Instead, lower level Heroes will be set to the amount of XP required to reach that same progression in the same level they attained before.

As always, thank you everyone who has been playing and testing out the system in the Open Beta.
