Illidan Quest NOT Linked to Legendary Upgrades

Recommended Posts

27164-legendary-upgrades-locked-behind-i

Well, we've finally received word from Blizzard on the recent rumor on whether the Illidan quest chain (with its 80 Soul Fragments and all) is related to the legendary upgrade mechanic coming in 7.1.5 and Nighthold, and it was only a rumor after all!

As mentioned, it isn't clear how this all got started, but it seems that the quest being missing from the PTR was enough to trigger some speculation and the Illidan chain connection somehow became the front-runner in the rumor olympics.

Hopefully not too many players frantically did the quest line on many characters due to the rumor, but hey, at least there's some 870+ loot at the end of it if you did.

I'm kinda glad the rumor got started. I thought that little quest line was just going to drag me through tons of annoying little "go here and talk to naaru" quests. Didn't realise there was this big quest with a reward at the end.

Even if the Legendary upgrade isn't tied to this quest, it still gives me something to do.

Please don't say "it's not clear how this all got started". It all started with this huge thread on mmo-c which was reposted everywhere after that - on the official forums (and also became a big thread), then  you posted it on icy-veins too and ofcourse, it was posted on every place wow-related on the internet: other websites, Reddit, social media, youtube channels and so on. Blizz didn't bothered to reply until now, sadly. So really, how this all got started? The answer is simple, the people responsible for "how it all got started" are the people who spread the unverified/false rumors in the first place.

I meant it as it's not clear who got the idea to randomly choose the Illidan quest line as being connected to the legendary thing. It seems just random. But you are right about other sites and us reporting on it making it bigger than it was,. As for me I was basically posting about the discussion that existed, which was already getting traction in the community at the time (a lot of tweets asking about it etc). I was aware there were no firm links to prove there was a connection (but it may not have come across as such in the article and people usually tend to either just read headlines or glance over an article's text, so I take some responsibility for it as well).

I kinda saw it as one of those "even if this isn't true we should say how shit it is JUST IN CASE it might be" things.

Even though I am almost done with this, I am glad for others that they don't have to grind through this for the upgrade.  The less grinding the better.

Speaking of Legendaries though, I hope we can get some kind of catch-up for the equip limit at some point.

I'm just getting the ability to wear two in a week, it'll be a pretty painful wait for any newer 110s at this point.

Once they start adding more things that let you wear more legendaries at once, or maybe if they increased the baseline limit from 1 to 2 or something, that may help. Or at least lowering the time it takes for order hall advancements to complete :p

But you're obviously just a troll anyway, and a bad one at that.

One of my Questions is: will it cost something? Like orderhall ressources or gold? Because im running low of those sometimes...

You mean the legendary upgrade? It'll just be gathering items from Nighthold and when you have enough you complete the quest and get the item that can upgrade.

Actually, Blizz said yesterday that they will be reducing order hall research duration in 7.1.5. They didn't say by how much, but presumably it'll be at least half.

I wouldn't be able to tell the exact time, but I had roughly 5 or 6 days left on my Legends of the Wild and it was completed when I logged on just now. :p

It's truly amazing how quickly people take a tiny rumour and turn it into something that causes so much trouble!

The Siege of Orgrimmar raid and Mists of Pandaria World Bosses are on a daily lockout in Patch 10.2.7.
We're not sure if the change is intended or a MoP Remix feature, but somehow, daily lockouts for SoO and MoP World Bosses have slipped through to live servers even before the event's starts on May 16. Maybe this is a way to give retail players more chances on Tusks of Mannoroth since you can buy them directly from a vendor during MoP Remix.
If you're farming Garrosh, don't forget there is a skip at the beginning of the raid. As you enter, interact with the scroll on the wall.

Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab for Monks in the War Within, making Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon!
We've got some great news for all Monk players out there. In the War Within expansion, Blizzard has added Glyph of Jab that makes Tiger Palm strike your target with your equipped weapon, instead of your fists.

In the past, Glyph of Jab was a minor glyph used by monks, designed to ensure that the Jab ability was executed with hands and fist animations even when non-fist weapons were equipped. You will find more details here.

We've looked at the number of chapters of the War Within level-up campaign and compared it to Dragonflight.
      War Within Level Up Campaign
The level-up campaign in each zone consists of 3 chapters, so you will end up with a total of 12 level-up chapters in the new expansion. You will spend roughly an hour completing the main storyline in each zone.

Isle of Dorn (Zone 1 Level Up Questing)
Chapter 1: Breaking Point Chapter 2: Earthen Fissures Chapter 3: The First Blow The Ringing Deeps (Zone 2 Level Up Questing)
Chapter 1: By Candlelight Chapter 2: Dark Revelations Chapter 3: The Monster and the Machine The Hallowfall Arathi (Zone 3 Level Up Questing)
Chapter 1: The Guiding Start Chapter 2: Gathering Shadows Chapter 3: Hope in Solidarity  Azj-Kahet (Zone 5 Level Up Questing)
Chapter 1: Friends in the Dark Chapter 2: Unraveling the Trapped Chapter 3: Plans within Plans Dragonflight Campaign Chapters
When we compare War Within level up chapter numbers with Dragonflight zones, the expansion shipped with a total of 15 level-up chapters spread across 4 zones:
Waking Shores had 5 campaign chapters. Ohn'ahran Plains shipped with 4 campaign chapters. Azure Span had 4 campaign chapters. Thaldraszus shipped with 3 campaign chapters. Max-Level Campaign
The War Within (Max Level Questing) consists of 4 chapters. The fourth campaign name is unknown at this time and Blizzard will most likely hotfix it.
