7.2 New Artifact Traits and AP Use Explained

Recommended Posts

D49V7QS.jpg

New quest to upgrade your Artifact, spend all your AP tokens and AP now and more details.

With 7.2 bringing new artifact traits Blizzard have explained how exactly the current AP system will interact with the new traits. Long story short: use up all your AP tokens now, put all your AP into the 34+ trait without regret as it won't make a difference if you "save up". Oh and there will be a quest to upgrade the weapon to the new traits! Check out the full statement below.

There's also a warning about some weird plans people have made:

As many of you have noted, Patch 7.2 will be introducing several new traits to Artifact Weapons. We'd like to clarify how these traits will unlock so that you can best prepare for them.

After Patch 7.2 is available, players who have an Artifact Weapon of at least rank 35 will be able to further empower that Artifact through a short quest chain. Completing this quest chain will consume any ranks beyond 35, increase the overall power of your Artifact Weapon (to ensure that losing ranks 35+ isn’t a downgrade), and unlock access to the new 7.2 traits. Any Artifact Power spent on traits beyond 35 will be refunded and you’ll immediately be able to spend that refunded Artifact Power on the new traits.

Note that any Artifact Power tokens acquired before Patch 7.2 will not be usable on an Artifact Weapon that has had its new traits unlocked. If you’ve already reached Rank 54, feel free to use any tokens you earn between now and then on alternate specs; there is no need to stockpile those tokens for Patch 7.2. We’re also planning to apply a hotfix in the near future that will allow the current Artifact Power tokens to be sold to vendors.

Please feel free to add any feedback, questions or thoughts to this thread.

Seems like a lot of work for something we're supposedly losing in a year anyway.  Wonder what they're actually up to...

Well I'd think the "prestige leveling" model they're trying out with Artifacts is going to stick around for more than just one expansion, it'll just take another form so them fiddling with it, how to improve it etc makes sense in the long run too.

So, we are keeping the passive damage boost we earned from 35+ when 7.2 hits, but the artifact weapon's prestige level will reset, and include new traits?

The way I understood it is that everyone will be getting their weapon boosted to the 54 trait level automatically, regardless of where you were before (but you have to be at least at 35 to get the quest to upgrade) and then all the AP you had over 35 you get back to spend on new traits.

Starym is right. Every weapon will be bursted with additional dmg that is equal to those 20 artifact levels. All AP that was spent beyond initial 24 traits will be refunded and players will be able to redistribute it to the new traits.

If you plan on buying the physical War Within Collector's Edition and live in Europe, you're going to have a bad time!
Blizzard has ceased distributing WoW Collector's Editions through retailers with the release of Dragonflight, making the Blizzard Store the only place to buy them. However, the shipping costs could be a dealbreaker for many collectors eager to acquire the latest edition for the upcoming expansion.
Reddit user katamai from Serbia posted a screenshot of their order, revealing that the shipping fees exceed the cost of the box itself—280 Euros for shipping compared to 200 Euros for the box, totaling 480 Euros.

Additionally, Emi, a follower on our Facebook page, reported a shipping cost of 99 Euros to Romania, nearly ten times what it costs to ship to the UK.

A practical workaround might be to order the Collector's Edition to a UK address and then use a shipping service to forward it to your address in Europe, potentially saving a considerable amount of money.
How much does it cost to ship the box to your country?

We've already talked about and taken a first look at the Delve-specific mount coming in the War Within, but now it's time to check out all of its customization options!
LeystTV has delved into the mount and shown off all the options, from the different colors to nose, wing, thruster, and top customizations, with glider, blimp, helicopter looks and more! There's even different versions of Horde and Alliance decals to choose from!

And these may not even be all the options present at launch, not to mention new ones Blizzard might add with later patches, making this one of the cooler mounts in the game.
