Resto Shaman Talent advice

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have noticed with a lot of people that i play a very different spec to most other shamans i come across, that being that i dont play the AG/CBT/HT build. With that being said my numbers are good and I really like the spec. Do you think it would be greatly beneficial to master and learn the other talents if they are meant to be significantly stronger?

I am intrigued by your spec and rotation.  Your numbers are very impressive.  I have tried CBT and I have found it to be an okay healing tool as long as people stand near the totem and you are actively healing them.  With that said, as with most encounters, I believe CBT is very situational and lends itself more to 5-mans and definitely more to small/confined spaces.  I think Echo of the Elements offers much more utility in that tier.  If you run the numbers you can apply 5 riptides in the same span of time that CBT ticks for that equates to a lot more HPS than CBT will.  Also CBT having a 30-second CD with healing only applied during the first 15 seconds, that leaves 15 seconds with nothing happening from that ability.

I have also tried Wellspring and it does a nice job as a quick heal to a large raid, however the mana cost makes it cost prohibitive imo.  I am currently using High Tide, but I'm thinking of trying Ascendance when we go into Nighthold Heroic tonight because I can see the utility it provides even though the 3-minute CD feels long.
