Patch 7.2: Reputation Paragon Mounts (Video)

Recommended Posts

NyRKLDI.jpg

Build 23623 added five mounts that will be available from Reputation Paragon. For every 10,000 reputation gained beyond Exalted with Legion factions, you'll receive a new emissary cache that has a chance to contain one of the mounts.

Mounts are tied to specific zone caches. No indications if they are a 100% drop though.

Collecting 10 caches awards the Paragon of the Broken IslesParagon of the Broken Isles achievement. You can obtain the following mounts (sorted as they appear in the video).

Highmountain ElderhornHighmountain Elderhorn and Wild DreamrunnerWild Dreamrunner are probably only ground mounts.

Which of the mounts do you like most?

Nice additions, but once again, something else gated behind RNG.

It'll be nice the first time a cache has one of the mounts, but when you're 4/5, doing multiple toons who've hit exalted with whatever faction, getting the same mounts you already have multiple times? If you're familiar with pet and mount runs through old content then you'll know the feeling when the excitement of getting *that* mount to show up on the loot just turns into relief that you won't have to farm the place dry anymore, sucking up the nostalgia and memories of raiding it in the first place, or listen through the ARPEE anymore.

I'd be happier if they had a drop chance for a unique item, similar to the lock fel fire chain, or the Quel'selar blade, that got you to do some unique stuff for it, and then never have to worry about it anymore if you didn't want to do it.

I get that it's all purely optional, but stuff like this is so blatantly designed as a timesink in a genre that revolves around being one already, that it burns players out all on it's own.

Love the hippogryph, glad we can get one with the superior updated model directly in-game now and that isnt an unnatural bright purple color. Not that the achievement one looks -bad- but I prefer a more realistic lool so there's that. Too bad I've already got Emerald Hippogryph a long time ago and love it to death + it looks better anyway imo. ;p

Posting without even reading the OP you're responding to...?

"Mounts are tied to specific zone caches. No indications if they are a 100% drop though."

How is your suggestion any less rng...? Why is there anything inherently wrong with getting multiples of the same mount from content you'd already be doing anyway and how is it different from getting a quest item for it?

I swear people just look for reasons to complain...

Because those items I mentioned were BoE.

As time marched on, more people who'd end up with duplicates would be able to sell them on the AH for those who play less frequently and maybe not get to see so many caches, therefore leading more players to be able to experience the quests behind those items, which we all know Blizzard is more than capable of giving. It'd be far less frustrating as well, avoiding the above scenario where you are 'fishing' caches for a faction you stopped caring about a long time ago, especially when it was common to just be able to buy a faction mount from the quartermaster once you hit Exalted, never to worry about it again.

We're closing in for 100 factions in the game soon, right? Is this going to be a recurring feature in the future, where you grind to Exalted with another half dozen factions and then keep grinding to obtain the rewards for doing so? It's a daunting thought, especially as I love the Legion factions; grinding for them relentlessly if the drop rate isn't 100%, or low enough to warrant it becoming a farm, makes the experience less enticing.

I apologise if I come off as a whiner, I'm just worried I am seeing a repeat of the WoD timesinks / glorified lottery.

War Within Alpha should be just around the corner! When do we expect the latest expansion testing to start?
If you've been keeping an eye on the World of Warcraft 2024 roadmap, you're likely excited about what's coming up! According to the roadmap, the War Within Alpha is expected to kick off sometime after Patch 10.2.6, which was released two weeks ago, and before the beginning of Season 4.

Typically, a season lasts 22 weeks. Right now, we're in the 20th week of Season 3, with just about two weeks left. Let's break down the hypothetical timeline:
Season 3 Week 20: Week of March 26 Season 3 Week 21: Week of April 2 Season 3 Week 22: Week of April 9 Season 4 Week 1: Week of April 15 This schedule suggests that the War Within Alpha could potentially launch as early as next week or during the week of April 9.
The most recent news from the War Within camp came on March 27, when Blizzard rolled out a fresh encrypted internal build on the WoW Dev CDN. The internal builds are becoming more and more frequent which indicates Blizzard's ramping up to start testing in the very near future.
Placeholder for tweet 1772901807448052151 In the meantime, we encourage you to check out everything coming in the War Within pre-patch that will release 1 month before the actual expansion.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
